Would we have come away from last nights game with a win under Nuno? Possibly.
Would we have learnt anything? Doubt it.
Would we be looking at players being burnt out in the next couple of weeks? Definitely.
Why? Because Nuno would have played his usual favourite starting eleven.

Nuno has been found out in the Premier league, just look at our recent form, its absolutely terrible. We had a small squad last season and over reliance on certain players contributed to their poor form going into the last month or so of the season. Then he persisted in the same vain into this season.
Nuno complained about not having cover across the pitch, Mr M invested close to a quarter of a billion for him.
Oh and Nuno collected around eight million after negotiating a new deal before manufacturing his own downfall which i suspect was due to the pressure and reality of having to work with a bigger more talented squad.
Now don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of Nuno. I believe he was our best manager since Frank Clark.

Ange has been given the reins and has had one whole week to lift a squad that's been in relegation form for months. First task after one whole training session Arsenal away, mission impossible if you ask me. Then Swansea away last night, wholesale changes and a first run out for many of our new very young and English football wise inexperienced players. First half was impressive and second absolutely dyer. Could definitely see different patterns of play in our build ups and Jesus looked great.
I have a feeling that for premier and big European games Ange will stick to the tried and trusted trinity of the block, Sels Milenkovic and Murillo.

Ange has had a week in the job and now has had a good look at everyone, something i doubt would have happened under Nuno.
Give the Aussie a chance and get behind him, big Mr M clearly trusts him and therefore so should we. 🌳.

18 Sep 2025 10:44:05
As long as Ange doesn't say any harsh words about Marinakis he will be alright.

18 Sep 2025 11:02:46
If being found out means finishing 7th and qualifying for Europe and reaching an FA cup semi final I'd settle for all our managers being found out.

18 Sep 2025 11:06:35
Should have been top four, not seventh Fred and the semi was there to be won. What ifs and maybes. 🌳.

18 Sep 2025 11:16:17
Last fifteen games under Nuno including pre season.

Played 15
Won 3
Draws 6
Lost 6

Not exactly inspiring 🌳.

18 Sep 2025 11:16:54
Lol hiw can you blame nuno wasn't in charge. ange had a full squad to choose from and do it is way against a championship team. he made wrong decision bringing subs on 2 nil up and lose 3-2 against poxy Swansea Burnley rubbing there hands together ange no clue about defense simple bring back nuno.

18 Sep 2025 11:20:13
Good assessment of things winter
Deffo a game of two halves last night.

18 Sep 2025 11:21:15
We will see the true value of Nuno over the next few months for sure. His Leadership skills worked wonders within his set parameters. 8 million - can't buy a decent player for that!

Signing so many players at once and preying it comes together on the night - If only it was that easy!

Teamwork / togetherness starts from the top man to the kit man. If all on the same page, might have a fighting chance.

18 Sep 2025 11:24:25
Have you considered its the players that were found out as well as the manager?
Everything is there to be won but you can't win them all.
Those 4 points from the first 2 games could come in very handy.

18 Sep 2025 11:28:31
Skegs you plonker read it properly i'm not blaming Nuno for last nights result. 🌳.

18 Sep 2025 11:31:51
Pre-season 🤣. Doesn't matter a jot.
Cherry picking at its finest again.

18 Sep 2025 11:34:32
Also you have to remember a lot of these players arrived after pre season so without cup games Nuno or Ange wouldn't have had a chance to see what their all about. 🌳.

18 Sep 2025 11:45:33
Fred of course i cherry picked those games🤣 proving my point to the maximum 😉🌳.

18 Sep 2025 11:48:14
Skegs again? Is it the same Skegvegas that I apparently am? Or is it a different one? DTP might need to clear this one up.

18 Sep 2025 11:48:32
There's a lot of great players in this squad bakwa last night was brilliant Jesus going to be class I just hope he has a rough idea already who is first 11 are mgw be gone at Xmas hopefully and have always said before we bought him sangare not good enough ange as probably 6 weeks to sort it.

18 Sep 2025 11:53:58
RedRobinhood - Agreed - How many signings were made after pre season and prior deadline day? Too many if wanted to hit the ground running.

So the cup match were always likely to be a difficult challenge if throwing all the new players together for the first time in a competitive match. Reminds me of the cooper days.

The positive on signing so many players at once is we should have enough players to be able to play a match against each other in training, with cover for each position.

18 Sep 2025 12:02:30
So let me get this correct BSR?
You want to include friendlies in your form report on our old manager.
You accept we would more likely have won with Nuno (you use the word ‘probably’)
And you say because Mr M chose Ange, you will trust him (and so should we all)? Best leave prior managerial choices off the list like MON etc, and all the countless ones he appeared to have made at Olympiakos.

Let’s hope we beat Burnley, arguably the weakest of the promoted teams. We will I think but Ange is a strange appointment, a strangely timed appointment too (after buying all the players), and this won’t be an easy ride.

18 Sep 2025 12:48:38
Sorry ‘possibly’ not ‘probably’.

18 Sep 2025 13:17:57
Very mixed opinions about last night. Finding hard to deal with giving away 2 goals in the last 3 mins of added time! Careless? Oscar Wilde would have difficulty finding a metaphor for that. Mr Slot will be anticipating our fixtures with glee!

PS Agree about Igor Jesus. Has to play against Burnley.

18 Sep 2025 13:55:56
Ange has an 18 month contract. If results do not improve by Xmas, Mr. M will pull the trigger again and bring in someone else like Silva.

18 Sep 2025 14:53:11
"Every time that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
Oh, it went by like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way? "

Great lyrics for those who canny let go🌳.

Team v Burnley away

Sels

Williams
Milenkovic
Murrilo
Zinchenko

Luis
Anderson

Bakwa
McAtee
Ndoye

Kalimuendo.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 10:37:47
Think Wood will start. With Jesus next in line.

18 Sep 2025 10:47:02
Wood for kalimuendo and Jesus for mcatee, think Jesus is the perfect player to play in and around woody.

18 Sep 2025 10:55:34
I'd go
Sels
Williams
Milenkovic
Murillo if fit
Zinchenko
Luiz
Anderson
Bakwa
Jesus
Wood
Ndoye with jesus playing a bit deeper than wood.

18 Sep 2025 10:57:56
S. Y completely agree with that, MGW and McAtee should both be benched. Jesus definitely deserves a run out with Woody. 🌳.

18 Sep 2025 09:52:54
Boly finished imo Morato and Yates not good enough

There were some encouraging signs last night Jesus Luis Bakwa and Hutchinson were excellent McAtee was better than Gibbs White

Jair Cunha could be Murrilo's new partner for Cup matches and Zinchenko looked good

Lapses of concentration plus Boly cost us last night.

You missed sangare off the poor list.

Burglars in London think Arsenal’s Trophy Cabinet could be a good shout next year, been off their list for the past 5 years while it was empty.

Last nights game was approached like a friendly from Management, that spilled over to some of the players.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 10:31:19
Don't agree, Nuno changed a complete team in this competition, did he treat it like a friendly? Ange talked of winning the cup, but wanted to give the new signings game time. I see no problem with that. Lots of talk about subs etc being the cause of defeat. We should of have the game sewn up with the chances we missed. We lost the game basically through rank bad defending. Boly beaten to the ball for the first two goals, Yates should do better in trying to stop the cross in goal number 2. Third goal no response from us as the ball came back off the woodwork. Let's hope a first choice defence, minus Ola, are available for Saturday.

18 Sep 2025 10:57:10
Third goal was Savona's fault - as you say, too slow a response from him. His second mistake following his not watching the man and as the ball went over his head in the Arsenal match. He looks like a fresh-faced kid who is overawed by the PL and needs to mature very quickly if he wants to come over here and earn big money. I'm sure Edu would have thought of that though before discussing it with Nuno?!

18 Sep 2025 08:38:49
I know there is no such thing as a bogey side, but Swansea I remember clearly as if it was yesterday. An earlier post I say said it wouldn't be easy.
My concern is that it is a damaging blow psychologically. Burnley remember didn't loose until that final minute penalty. I see no reason to feel optimistic as Sunderland next and loose both we will be in the bottom 3. Of AP doesn't see what happened in both these games and who he should drop, we will be relegated. I for one would welcome back Mr Cooper.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 09:15:15
Although we are a different machine with our first 11 on the pitch I worry about the club environment and pressures forced upon all.

Nuno, had tried to keep a stable ship, but once the results started turning back end of last season the ship started sinking.

Had we had a stable ship, we could afford to make so many changes last night, but perhaps Nunos strategy of earning the shirt in training and on the pitch was the correct one.

A good thing about last night was that Jesus got a run at striker and showed us what he could do, creating some real competition for Wood. And this is a prime example that players need time to settle.

18 Sep 2025 07:24:32
Left back becoming a problem area again. Maybe we should have kept Omar?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 09:31:59
Is it?
We have enough at full back in my opinion.
Zinchenko is a solid experienced player and will prove to be a very good addition over the course of the season.
Neco and Aina can play both sides (obviously Aina is injured)
Savona looks solid from what we’ve seen so far.

Once Domi is back from injury I think he’d be more than capable of doing a job at full back if we were desperate.

Perhaps a youngster can force their way into the first team squad for training and impress if need an extra body.

18 Sep 2025 11:00:38
Savona looks solid? He looks totally out of his depth from what I've seen so far and a complete joke.

18 Sep 2025 13:54:00
Both Savona and Jair look out of their depth lacking experience and nous about English football. Morato can't play left back so we are relying only on Zinchenko who can't play every game.
I still think Left back is our recurring achilles' heel. Nuno knew this. He also wanted Adama Traore whose strength would have done wonders for our midfield.

It could get worse you know, another load of sheepshaggers waiting to have a go! Why can professional players not see the game out? As soon as they scored the first I knew what was coming, and they haven't disappointed! MGW, Sangare AGAIN not putting a shift in! At least we got penalty shoot-outs with Nuno lol I'll be very surprised if MGW is a Forest player at the end of Jan 2026!

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 07:47:49
Said to my mate at 2-1 "they'll get another couple of chances. "
However I never expected that!
Just joking DTP about your prediction, think yours was bad?
I was i'm my local for the 1990 FA Cup Final. so Pearce's free kick I predicted he'd score and "Stand like a statue".
So as we know he did, and I did likewise with my Shipstones shirt on. by the end I was caught skulking out of the bar mate!
"We can see you sneaking out the back Rogie!
We can see you sneaking out the baaaaaack! "
🤣🤣🤣🤣.

18 Sep 2025 00:21:15
Trouble at mill
Ange not happy with a few he bought on
And rightly so.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Sep 2025 22:58:00
As far as I'm concerned, I don't want to see sangare or MGW PLAY again for us
Ones not good enough the other has no interest in. playing for us
Bin the pair, should know with their experience jow to close game out.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 02:02:05
I think it's time for someone to sit mgw down and tell him some hard facts about what happens next. firstly he should stop acting like a petulant child that's had his legs slapped. secondly if he wants out, and clearly he does then he should start playing to impress because at the moment he hasn't got a cat in hells chance of a move to one of the big boys, and to be honest who in their right minds would have him. i posted last week that "no team is too good to go down" I'm genuinely concerned for forest this season, our main priority is premier safety, the cup comes second surely not the other way around. i haven't commented on the new coach yet as I think it's early days, but a pasting at Burnley and Mr M should have second thoughts. that's as honest as I can be.

18 Sep 2025 05:39:32
They gave us a lesson in finishing.

17 Sep 2025 22:31:59
9 goals conceded in 3 games.
6 in 2 from the new manager.
Maranackas you've made one almighty cock up.
He nearly took Spurs down what are the odds he will succeed with us.
There's no excuses we are miles away from what we were last season.
So much money wasted. If Edu is responsible for some of these signings he should have been sacked not Nuno. All the excitement of what we achieved last season has been eroded. Its going to be a really long hard season.
It really looks like a hurried appointment. I was willing to give him a chance and see what he could do. But now got big doubts.

Agree4 Disagree0

17 Sep 2025 23:43:57
Anderson will be back and I bet ange wishes he'd of put him on the bench instead of sangare and MGW.

18 Sep 2025 00:24:54
Hang on dtp you were praising his way forward on live chat? Can't blame two players. Make your mind up. You whith him or against.?

18 Sep 2025 05:24:11
Well he can't blame the manager Bowie how stupid would he look.

18 Sep 2025 08:38:00
He probably forgot what he said, Bowie.
