See edwards the nonce got away with it. They should invest in prisons not immigrants. Makes me puke.

The BBC, reporting horrible flooding in eastern europe, possibility of a dam bursting, and terrible flooding to add to what is all ready happening.
So in true sensitive style we watch a news report on the dam busters accounting for terrible deaths and distruction, where dams were distroyed Oh how careful the BBC are.

Thing is they actually charge us for it. Only thing i liked about the bbc was pop master and even ken left.

Take a deep breath Bowie mate. You gave too much time to ponder with both of you ill. While I don't like many things, it's still my country and I enjoy life, so it is what it is.

I don't watch the news, soaps, reality shows and repetitive stuff like, the jungle and Britain's got talent, x factor and all the others that the TV companies keep putting out.

No decent comedy anymore incase someone is affected or finds it distasteful. To me, the BBC should be made to use advertising as their revenue just like every other TV chanel in the world and scrap the TV licence for starters. Chin up kid you got your family.

At times DTP I feel a bit embarrassed about serving this country in the Army for 9 years. So many of us Veterans out there sacrificed both our physical and mental health for what?

'It is what it is' doesn't cut it with me. Our society is now broken and it hurts me.

If you threw a tennis ball from Hyson Green down Alfreton Road, you would hit Social media influencers, rappers, graffiti artists?, poets and just lazy s#ds. It's rear to find anyone who just wants to work hard and produce something🫤.

A few years ago now did some contract work at an BBC aireal transmitter station. Meeting the BBC staff on site its like another world, if you could gather all the indifferent folk in one place, that would be the place. Its another world. Boffins abound that place, its almost uncomfortable, eerie. Also worked again in the BBC building in Nottingham, they are not so bad in there, still that feeling of another world.

Yes, wrong to tar all young people with the same brush. But I read recently that youth unemployment is rising, and mental health was at record levels with young people. There must be something happening, is it that they think they are failures at 20, and give up!.

Covid, that is the reason. Many children have missed out on interaction and education. Speaking to education related staff they firmly put covid undoubtedly the reason.

I hope the duty ED is OK with this, as it's nothing to do with football. I just feel the need to post this to my red clan as it has been grating me since returning to the UK. Copied from my last FB post:

What a fantastic cruise around the Spanish and French coastlines with my Sue! We loved it. Also, I was really impressed by the amount of people (both tourists and particularly the locals) offering their help to get me over steps etc in my wheelchair. There are so many good people out there. However, after returning to Blighty I tried to cross the road by the T-Junction opposite my house and got halfway across the road before 3 cars came past me - none of them bothering to stop. I'm not asking for VIP treatment, just some consideration. I do worry about our society in the UK nowadays.

I sympathise entirely Legless. I think society in this country is definitely on a downward spiral especially in terms of kindness, tolerance and unnecessary aggression. I blame polarisation caused by social media and the moral vacuum of our so called political leaders mate.

Just what is going on at Notts Cricket, abysmal run of performances, even when they win the toss they blow it big time.
Something's wrong in the changing room, or the board throwing its weight about.
Or could it be building for the future, either way the standard required misses the mark big time.

Redsocks it’s been a disappointing season but in mitigation Broad (though he only usually managed 4 orv5 games due to England commitments) is a big loss, plus we lost Duckett and Stone to England.
I think Moores isn't dynamic enough and he keeps picking his son as wicket keeper batsman despite never making any decent scores
Certainly better recruitment and commitment needed. We need to do better than Lancashire in our last game of the season to stay up. Currently only 11 points clear of relegation. Kent have gone already I think ….

Agree3 0Disagree

13 Sep 2024 10:33:12
Redsocks, you will probably be surprised to hear that I’m not that good at pub quiz’s because I tend to overthink and over elaborate the answers. 😂😂🤔🤔
When I worked in the Public Analysts Dept at Staffs County Council we had a pub quiz team made up of very highly qualified scientists. We were called “The Lab Rats”. We did ok but they used to drive my wife mad debating the question. She once whispered to me “Bloody hell, it’s a Pub Quiz not the Nobel Prize “😂.

Once in a sports quiz in Stamford where I lived at the time, and the teams were tied in the last round. Both teams had a choice of questions and we were left with questions on forest. Our captain kept knocking me under the table, think the other team got a few wrong, we didn't.
They were most ungracious when they knew I followed forest, they chose another team to ask questions on.

Having some work done on our house so I've escaped the building site and spending a few days at the Tawny Hotel in Staffordshire. As our place overlooks a lake I'm re reading "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame ( 1908). ( Ok it's tales of the riverbank rather than the lakeside ).
It's a funny and charming book but everytime I read Chapter 7 " The Piper at the Gates of Dawn " it's totally unlike anything else in the book, really trippy. Still brings a lump to my throat and I've seen it all believe me.
I even shed a few tears when Mike Scott of the Waterboys read out the whole chapter set to music when I saw them at Bridgewater Hall. Of course it's the title of a legendary Pink Floyd album.
Anybody out there read it, if so what do we think about it? I'm always staggered by it.

Another 60s great gone to dementia, Big Ron Yeats, Liverpool.
I remember seeing seeing a clip of him playing again Arsenal, the Arsenal No. 9 flew past him, Ron tripped him, the Centre forward spun on his heel and caught Yeats with a perfect punch, Ron was out like alight, the No.9 Joe Baker.
