Dexter Blackstock is currently trying to find himself an agent with links outside the UK. Well he has been asking for one, I assume for himself. Judging by what has been said on here, it seems likely he will be leaving Forest and you will all be happy to be rid.

I don't think he's ever let us down ed and I wouldn't be one to say I'd be glad to see him go, I've heard he is paid a ridiculous amount so the money side would be beneficial but he has been a decent player (with a few limitations) and did put in some important goals for us. Good luck to him.

{Ed001's Note - ok mate, I was just judging by the posts I have read. They tend to be very negative about him.}

2.) 07 Jun 2016 07:45:36
Turns up a couple of times a season. No thanks, get him off the wage bill.

3.) 07 Jun 2016 08:31:32
He can go for me .
lazy and no good for us going forward in the future.
I wish him all the best.

4.) 07 Jun 2016 08:51:11
Lazy?

Dexter is not the most gifted player, but anyone who has actually watched him play will know that he is not lazy. It is not his fault what he gets paid. He is always willing to put his body on the line and this is why he has suffered from so many injuries.
The biggest problem with Dexter is that he needs a run of games to find his best form, but his body struggles when he plays regularly.
Having said all that, if he wants to leave, I would not stop him.

5.) 07 Jun 2016 08:51:55
Dex pops up with the odd important goal but as GazzaRed says he only turns up a couple of times a season PLUS he is very injury prone. I wouldn't say he was a lazy player Darrenforest1976 that is just his style of play ;)

6.) 07 Jun 2016 09:23:24
Sorry just read he needs a run of game and had to chuckle he's played well over 200 games his best ever career total is 13 goals but I would look at him playing a different role may be in defence it's worked successfully before give dex his due though he's not lazy and good with his head.

7.) 07 Jun 2016 09:36:02
Never let us down. Brave in the air but not the best option going foward. All the best dex.

8.) 07 Jun 2016 09:58:51
I must admit when he first arrived on loan and his first season he was great but his major injury finished him off. last couple of seasons. slow, uninspiring, massive wage bill. got to go.

9.) 07 Jun 2016 09:58:52
Another of the players like Guy Moussi who once they got their three-year contract never were the same again. Blackstock wasn't lazy just too laid-back. And never pinned down a regular slot. A luxury on the bench.

10.) 07 Jun 2016 15:33:12
Scored more than Macheda, Akpon, and anyone else who should have been behind him in the pecking order.

Forest have spoken to Hull City regarding Maguire. I don't know anything more than that, though they are looking to send him out to the Championship on loan, so I am not sure who approached who about him. It might well be that Hull asked if Forest want him to cover injuries.

Ed001

1.) I'm not saying this is untrue, however I can see why we need another CB when laselles is available, Hobbs yes is injured but is it long term? Wilson ands mancinne looking good partnership. COYR

2.) Cant see us needing another CB on loan, we have Laselles, the 2 kids in reserve, plus Halford Collins and Fox who can all play in this position too

3.) And don't forget there is Laing as well

Good read that Ed, i was thinking 5-0 once you took the lead, Slot is sucking the life out of what Klopp did for you. ?.

{Ed001's Note - if he hadn't won the league last season, I think he would already be gone.}

Another good review Ed
I think Bournemouth will be hovering around the danger zone for the rest of the season and the loss of Semenyo is another example of them being a feeder club for the big boys ( like Solanke to Spurs and the lad who came to Liverpool who’s name I’ve forgotten ( Kurkez? )
Palace, as you say, are dropping like a stone and the loss of a Guehi or a Wharton in this window might expedite this?
I’m amazed how Martineli wasnt sent off.

A nasty piece of work who, back in the day ( and at a late stage in the game) might have received a bit of instant justice from the slow arriving Liverpool players.

{Ed001's Note - if Mac Allister wasn't so soft, he would have stopped him, as he was there but doing nothing. Then again, knowing that diving tit, he would probably have joined Bradley on the floor rather than tried to stop Martinelli.}

2.) 13 Jan 2026 19:56:00
Do you see anything in Hutchinson ed. that is worth 35 million I just don't know. he seems to be switched off a lot in the game like he doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing or do you think dyche isn't managing him properly.

{Ed001's Note - he is ok, but I just don't think he is good enough for Forest. He might develop into a player that is good enough but he needs a lot of work. Too weak for starters. He lacks understanding of when and where to run at the moment.}

3.) 13 Jan 2026 20:48:44
Exactly what I thought ed. but still only young chucked in at the deep end with a big price tag a shame destroys a lot of youngsters been better off staying at Ipswich.

{Ed001's Note - I agree, he should have stayed there and played regularly.}

4.) 13 Jan 2026 21:20:16
Careful Ed you’re taking about our EDU record signing there.
CARLO.

Good post Ed. Would you be kind enough to explain your comment “outdated tactics” in relation to Forests players? This is a genuine question by the way, meant with good intent for my edification mate. Its good to get an outside perspective on things.

{Ed001's Note - it is all just sit back and defend then, if you get the ball, then it is lumped up to Jesus like he is an old school target man, despite him being weak in the air.}

2.) 09 Jan 2026 17:38:49
At last edd someone sees it exactly the way I do edd
That's why a striker won't necessarily make a difference.

3.) 09 Jan 2026 17:48:57
It's a great tactic against Liverpool away apparently.

4.) 09 Jan 2026 18:05:44
It's a shite tactic that also makes MGW look bad as everything by passes him.

5.) 09 Jan 2026 18:16:04
Mgw makes himself look bad traitor. sooner we sell him the better join the other judas at spurs.

6.) 09 Jan 2026 18:50:17
What other judas at spurs?

7.) 09 Jan 2026 19:11:49
Oh no forgot spurs got rid of that judas. ?.

8.) 09 Jan 2026 19:19:40
DTP making out he's the only one that noticed ? me me me, talk about narcissistic??.

9.) 09 Jan 2026 19:32:09
Get back to your classroom children ???.

10.) 10 Jan 2026 11:29:27
Thank you Ed. Much appreciated. That’s a good clarification.
It’s good to know exactly what we are talking about otherwise it becomes meaningless ( like the term Dyche Ball for example).
I used to get into tremendous trouble on Police “diversity” courses when I used to ask speakers what “Institutional Rascism ‘ meant and give me examples. Everyone bandied the term about but no one could actually define it. As for examples, after hours of waffle and obfuscation the only example they could come up with was height restrictions ( so some ethnic groups are physically and genetically not as tall as other groups) which were rightly scrapped as they were left over from the Victorian era.

I abhor sloppy thinking almost as much as I abhor rascism. It’s the same with “Dyche ball” and outdated tactics so I know now what to look out for …. ???.

I think it is fair to point out, I have nothing personal against Joe Cole, he is actually a lovely lad, a really nice lad who does work his butt off when he is on the pitch. The problem is that he is not very bright, and when he is training he tries too hard to be one of the lads and ends up slacking off messing around with his mates. That is probably why he did better while in France, as he would not have been able to do that, with him being unable to really get into the banter due to the language barrier. He allows himself to get distracted and led astray, in a very similar way to Gazza, though without anything like as much talent to get away with it.

Nonsense Rutland. The country can insist a player is checked out by their medical staff. Clubs cannot refuse to send a player, they can only advise the national team they are not fit for selection. It is then up to the nation to decide to call them up or not.
