Dexter Blackstock is currently trying to find himself an agent with links outside the UK. Well he has been asking for one, I assume for himself. Judging by what has been said on here, it seems likely he will be leaving Forest and you will all be happy to be rid.

I don't think he's ever let us down ed and I wouldn't be one to say I'd be glad to see him go, I've heard he is paid a ridiculous amount so the money side would be beneficial but he has been a decent player (with a few limitations) and did put in some important goals for us. Good luck to him.

{Ed001's Note - ok mate, I was just judging by the posts I have read. They tend to be very negative about him.}

2.) 07 Jun 2016 07:45:36
Turns up a couple of times a season. No thanks, get him off the wage bill.

3.) 07 Jun 2016 08:31:32
He can go for me .
lazy and no good for us going forward in the future.
I wish him all the best.

4.) 07 Jun 2016 08:51:11
Lazy?

Dexter is not the most gifted player, but anyone who has actually watched him play will know that he is not lazy. It is not his fault what he gets paid. He is always willing to put his body on the line and this is why he has suffered from so many injuries.
The biggest problem with Dexter is that he needs a run of games to find his best form, but his body struggles when he plays regularly.
Having said all that, if he wants to leave, I would not stop him.

5.) 07 Jun 2016 08:51:55
Dex pops up with the odd important goal but as GazzaRed says he only turns up a couple of times a season PLUS he is very injury prone. I wouldn't say he was a lazy player Darrenforest1976 that is just his style of play ;)

6.) 07 Jun 2016 09:23:24
Sorry just read he needs a run of game and had to chuckle he's played well over 200 games his best ever career total is 13 goals but I would look at him playing a different role may be in defence it's worked successfully before give dex his due though he's not lazy and good with his head.

7.) 07 Jun 2016 09:36:02
Never let us down. Brave in the air but not the best option going foward. All the best dex.

8.) 07 Jun 2016 09:58:51
I must admit when he first arrived on loan and his first season he was great but his major injury finished him off. last couple of seasons. slow, uninspiring, massive wage bill. got to go.

9.) 07 Jun 2016 09:58:52
Another of the players like Guy Moussi who once they got their three-year contract never were the same again. Blackstock wasn't lazy just too laid-back. And never pinned down a regular slot. A luxury on the bench.

10.) 07 Jun 2016 15:33:12
Scored more than Macheda, Akpon, and anyone else who should have been behind him in the pecking order.

Forest have spoken to Hull City regarding Maguire. I don't know anything more than that, though they are looking to send him out to the Championship on loan, so I am not sure who approached who about him. It might well be that Hull asked if Forest want him to cover injuries.

Ed001

1.) I'm not saying this is untrue, however I can see why we need another CB when laselles is available, Hobbs yes is injured but is it long term? Wilson ands mancinne looking good partnership. COYR

2.) Cant see us needing another CB on loan, we have Laselles, the 2 kids in reserve, plus Halford Collins and Fox who can all play in this position too

3.) And don't forget there is Laing as well

Liverpool v Nottingham Forest - A Quick Liverpool Perspective

Good post Ed which I entirely agree with having watched the game twice. It’s extraordinary how Liverpool have faded. They look a bit like Leicester post Champions under Ranieri. Perhaps the same problems defensively once Morgan and Huth started to pick up injuries.

Virgil and Konate just don’t look fit and, as you say, the midfield have no energy or ambition.
Compare McAllister with Anderson for example.
Last night they all looked abysmal.
Next question…. who’s in the frame to replace Slot?

{Ed001's Note - Iraola, Nagelsmann.}

2.) 27 Nov 2025 13:06:52
Say what ya like about it Stokie. They've had more hammer than an anvil. It's over, it comes to us all in the end. It happened to Man U. City will be next.

Very interesting Ed and a good read.
I gave to entirely agree with your take on the Liverpool V Forest game.
I rewatched the game entirely yesterday in a calm analytical frame of mindnow the emotion has dissipated.
Virgil, McCalister, Isak and Konate particularly looked unfit and ponderous. Gravenburg and Salah did well and looked dangerous on the ball but the rest looked one paced and disinterested.
Forest looked completely comfortable out of possession and, as you say, picked Liverpool off on the counter. There were 2 phases of play in the second half which summed up Dyche ball and its effectiveness.
One was when Liverpool had the ball for a chunk of time, around 5 or 6 minutes continuous ly when Forest sat off and didn’t touch it at all. They went from side to side, left to right and back again laterally and finished eventually with a shot from Slobesli from 35 along the ground which Sels had all day to fall on.

I know our goalkeeper hasn’t been in Golden Gloves form recently but even I could have saved it. A shot born of frustration….
The second point was when, for a couple of minutes, again 2nd half, when the game opened up and became more end to end. Dyche was out bellowing furiously to get back into formation and screw this adventurous toe to toe slugging stuff. It was indicative of his pragmatic approach. If it’s working, don’t change it.
Slot looked absolutely lost and bereft of ideas when the 3rd went in. I’m sure, Ed, he will sort it. He’s not become a bad coach overnight and with Liverpools resources and reputation new blood will arrive, particularly defensively in January ( hopefully not Murillo or Malenkovic)

{Ed001's Note - thank you, and I like your analysis, very interesting stuff. I have to disagree on Slot, I am not sure he is capable of turning it around because he has picked out the wrong lessons from last season. And he has still not accepted that physicality is a massive part of things in the Prem.}

2.) 26 Nov 2025 13:07:48
Seems to me that Slot has been found out ED, won't change his system no matter what, similar to Ange, Amorin and the Barcelona boss last night. These type of managers who are inflexible will all get sussed over time.
But as Stokey said great write up mate and it's actually refreshing reading it from an opponents point of view.

I hate having to read match assessments from the main stream media, always focus on the mistakes from the bigger sides and never give credit where its due. ?.

{Ed001's Note - I think Slot has changed too much, he has moved away from the style he used in the Eredivisie.}

3.) 26 Nov 2025 16:37:05
Like Nuno got sussed, you mean? Agree.

4.) 26 Nov 2025 19:20:10
Yeah cyclist, people here forget that after April the 1st once sussed we never kept another competitive clean sheet under Nuno. ?.

5.) 26 Nov 2025 20:20:44
How can people forget? ?

The Nuno out brigade have done nothing but go on about it on here since he left ?.

6.) 26 Nov 2025 20:30:55
Surely Liverpool, Forest and the majority of clubs would have had that discussion with the potential Manager, regarding tactics, and their approach to certain situations/ Scenarios and a "Plan B" should they arise?
Just saying folks.

7.) 26 Nov 2025 22:14:01
Just a question Fred
How do you feel Dyche is doing?
A good fit?
Nuno dug his own grave, and that's gone.

Hey Ed001, would you say slots under pressure?

{Ed001's Note - yes, very much so.}

2.) 12 Nov 2025 18:19:44
Interesting read Ed. I saw that the results had dropped off but put that down to European exhaustion, new signings bedding in and perhaps players ageing and getting past their best, like Virgil and Salah. I didn’t realise that things such as tactical incompetence and lack of motivation had made things so dire.

From a Forest point of view I’m very worried that, having been dismantled comprehensively by City, they will be stung into action against us.

{Ed001's Note - Slot wants to play this way, he went back to good football and won 2 so immediately went back to what had failed. Makes no sense, but it seems he is too stubborn to change.}

3.) 12 Nov 2025 20:23:09
On a lighter note Ed…… I’ve heard that Liverpool have turned down a massive sponsorship deal with a world famous dog food manufacturers…. apparently having “ Win A lot “ across their shirts wouldn’t have gone down well with the fans atm ……. ??.

I think it is fair to point out, I have nothing personal against Joe Cole, he is actually a lovely lad, a really nice lad who does work his butt off when he is on the pitch. The problem is that he is not very bright, and when he is training he tries too hard to be one of the lads and ends up slacking off messing around with his mates. That is probably why he did better while in France, as he would not have been able to do that, with him being unable to really get into the banter due to the language barrier. He allows himself to get distracted and led astray, in a very similar way to Gazza, though without anything like as much talent to get away with it.

Nonsense Rutland. The country can insist a player is checked out by their medical staff. Clubs cannot refuse to send a player, they can only advise the national team they are not fit for selection. It is then up to the nation to decide to call them up or not.
