All this talk of MGW and Spurs sounds just like the Forest of old; sell our best players and then struggle with replacements, and eventually end up having a really bad time of it. Like some have already said, the club either needs to put out the fire or tell us what's going on. Poor form to let the fans seat it like this. Our best player, and one of the most creative talents in the Prem. this needs stamping out Forest.

I watched most of the recent under 21 England matches. 3 players I thought would complement our club. First has to be Harvey Elliot. If somehow we could hang onto MGW, what a trio of class we would have with Anfo as well. Hutchison played every match and is obviously thought of highly by the coach and would be a replacement for Elanga. I would have signed the Liverpool centre back who went to Germany for 45 m a first rate defender. Mcatee who is the only one linked with us, I didn't rate even though he was the captain, a man city primadona potentially.
Xenophobia maybe creeping in I admit. However any player signed from far overseas can take time to settle. Is MGW our best player - yes. If he sees his future career at City there is little we can do. Absolutely no way would I swop him for Mcatee. Even If it broke the bank, H Elliott is the only MGW replacement I would consider. Nevertheless we don't want to lose our best player and ideally have our cake and eat it!

Doc. I wouldn't say McAtee is a primadona mate. I watched with interest too as he's been linked with us for a while.
He's a young lad, not physically robust yet but he sees a great pass so I'd say he's a decent player. I don't see him any where as good as GW though and he's lacking pace. If we play the same formation as last season, I can't see McAtee suiting us but a change to 352 could work for both players.
I don't think we will change though so he would be a squad player and I can't see him coming for that so I'd look elsewhere.

GB Mcatee I said was a potential Prima Dona, I don’t really know. He could consider a step down coming to our club and may play accordingly. My worry is that he maybe used as a bargaining chip with MGW. Apparently MGW was not at the recent training session. Rumours are rife that he has already signed. If Forest can legitimately spend some money let’s go for Harvey Elliott. A potential MGW equal but with an eye for the goal. Am I the only one who wants to see the best home grown players at our club?

Possible good news. Lyon are back in their top division after their appeal.

This could mean the sales of Danilo and Turner are still on, bringing in more cash. It also means Palace might be relegated to the conference league, with Forest promoted to the Europa League and potentially more cash there too.

Man City agree personal terms with Gibbs-White
However, according to Football Insider, Man City are still showing an interest in signing the attacking midfielder this summer.

The report claims that the Citizens have already reached an agreement with the player over personal terms.

Gibbs-White has seemingly given the green light to the move, but Forest are reluctant to part ways with one of their key players, especially as they are about to lose Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United.

However, there is a suggestion that Forest could be forced to listen to offers for Gibbs-White due to concerns about complying with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).

Do Man City need to sign Gibbs-White this summer?
The 25-year-old has established himself as a key player on the Forest side since he joined the club from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2022.

Gibbs-White played a key role in Forest's seventh-place finish last term, scoring seven goals and providing 10 assists in 34 Premier League matches.

While he is undoubtedly a talented player, it makes little sense for Man City to pursue the transfer unless there are departures.

Guardiola can already call upon a number of players who can play in an advanced midfield role, including Cherki, Phil Foden, Claudio Echeverri, Nico O'Reilly, Ilkay Gundogan and James McAtee.

There is a belief that McAtee will depart this summer, while there is speculation surrounding Gundogan's future at the club.

If those two were to depart, it could open the space for the Citizens to make an effort to sign Gibbs-White.
