SL Championship Manager of the Month, Forest 'joint top' of the Championship, City Ground full, squad coping injuries? Pinch me, I must be dreaming. COYR. 😊.

Yeah, well done to him, the rest of the staff and the players, thoroughly deserved Mr Lamouchi, doing a sterling job.

Not just City Ground full either. Pretty much every away game we are asking for more tickets!

Agree2 0Disagree

11 Oct 2019 22:13:42
Other than Wigan it's getting hard to get an away ticket even as a season card holder.

Are there any updates on the injured players. Surely Yates must be near a return.

I think Yates and Dawson will be available after the international break.

09 Oct 2019 09:24:22
I think Yates will need to bide his time, can't see him getting in the 11 any time soon. Will Dawson come straight back in or has Chema made a statement.

Agree1 0Disagree

09 Oct 2019 13:16:37
If Sow and Semedo are injured still, Yates will be back in, though I think he should get an U23 game first.

Agree0 0Disagree

09 Oct 2019 14:02:15
The way Chema played Saturday there is know need to rush Dawson back and risk another half season injury. With our squad we don't need to rush anybody back from injury and that's the difference this year.

Agree1 0Disagree

09 Oct 2019 20:55:25
I don’t see that happening bsered. I think it will be Watson, Bostock and either Silva or Carvalho. Just my opinion.

10 Oct 2019 22:35:04
Yates won't get a look in this season to many better players in front of him.

Agree2 0Disagree

11 Oct 2019 12:09:14
You can't fault the effort Yates puts in when he plays but definitely won't be getting near the team this season. Which in a way is good because it shows just how far we've come this season.

Effort is great but he's not as good as sow or semedo but let's hope he proves me wrong I'd love that t8 happen.
Our problem with our youngsters is they play in a low league and not against the elite so sometimes it's hard to see if they are good enough.
We play the likes of Ipswich and Shrewsbury at that level .
We are doing very well to get good fees however and matty and worrall are doing the buisness so we are doing something right but need to step up a level to get the best out of our youngsters, can't do that till be become an established premier team again, not long to wait 🍻🍻.

Really pleased to see Matty Cash is maturing into a top home grown player who can play in different positions. Already scored 9 goals in 88 appearances at 22.

Compare him to Benny Osborn who at 25 only scored 15 in 212 appearances delpoyed more often than not in a more advanced position on the pitch.

Matty looks like he is heading for a more successful career while Benny has hit a ceiling so in my book great business to sell and invest stronger more gifted players. No more games where we get bullied or outpaced in midfield. Long may it continue.

Onward and Upward.

I think long term his best career option is at right-back.

06 Oct 2019 14:58:47
i think Cash is probably the best RB we’ve had for years, last one close was probably Gunther.

Good old Gunther 🤣.

06 Oct 2019 18:35:42
Matty has made right back his position he's been man of the match last four games and just gets better with each game.
Top quality along with worrall, just shows the academy players can make it.

06 Oct 2019 18:47:06
Gunter must have set a record for the number of goals conceded on his back post? Remember the days when we couldn't defend a ball played in from wide to the back post? You could set your watch by it!

We know we're going to need a striker in Jan. and the name Assombalonga has been mentioned but they say never go back, but I would go back, back to Peterborough for Ivan Toney

Or Mo Eisa, both already on 9 goals a piece.
To be honest in terms of a striker signing I’d be tempted to recall Tyler Walker at Xmas and give the lad a go.

Yes Perks, he banged two in again yesterday. Surprised we sent him out with the lack of strikers at the club now.

Deserves a go. He goes out on loan and scores goals. can't ask anymore really. Different type of player to Mir as well.

Gary hooper is available on a free transfer. wouldn’t be a bad signing on a deal until the end of the season. when fit can score goals at this level.

3 games in 7 days coming up after yet another international break.
3 wins the target but we really need Jenks/ Daws/ Alfie back in contention to ensure we keep fresh and the tempo up?
COYR's.

05 Oct 2019 22:13:17
Prefer no break red as were on a roll,
We've shown that the squad can cope with injuries so be good to get players back but the break for me gives Lamouchi even more time to work with the players and make us even more awesome.
Only an injury to grabban or cash can derail our season.

Agree1 0Disagree

06 Oct 2019 08:59:55
Sow will be 3/ 4 weeks if a minor hamstring problem but as you say we have the squad to cope with it. Semedo coming back and Bostock desperate to play a part. Surely Jenkinson will be close after the break as well. Our squad strength will carry us through the season unlike other teams who will weaken when key players get injured. Only question mark for us is the obvious one. Would Mir step up if Grabban was out for a while?

Just looking at the first team squad on official website. 31 players. Sabri wants a squad of about 23/ 24. Come January try to get rid of pants, muric, milosavic, benalouane, hefele, yacob, Mir, and Clough. Try and offload Carvalho to Olympiacos and that leaves 22. Sign a striker and a good gutsy box to box midfielder and we are sorted for a push to the big time. Forget the top 6 it's all about the top 2 for me.

A very tenuous friend of a friend (colleagues partners grand daughters grand father) is a Leicester scout and according to my colleague Leicester are looking at Worrall. I’d let him go for about £25m.

Agree with most of the departures but wouldn’t let Carvalho go or Worrall. Probably keep Pants too as back up.

I think the area we need to strengthen is an extra striker. Not much else needed.

I would let Carvalho go. If our owner could make a bumper deal to Olympiacos happen to raise some funds for a striker I'd be happy. Without a doubt Joao has talent in there somewhere, but for the money we paid for him, I expected him to be tearing up the Championship, but instead he just toddles around the pitch and loses the ball way too much.

I'm sorry, I must have read that wrongly, suggestions of offloading Carvalho to Greece. What utter tosh! That man is one of the most talented players I've seen pull on the garibaldi in years. In his first full season in English football, he contributed to 12 goals, never mind all the other chances he created, the dribbles, the runs at oppositions defences, the nutmegs, the first time passes, the one-twos, the ability to make play tick and to make play move faster.

His speed of thought is something else, his ability to create and find room is delightful, and personally he's given me more moments of pure pleasure watching Forest than I can remember. He's not perfect, he's young, he will make mistakes and he will give the ball away. BUT, I'd rather he give the ball away 2 out of 5 times, if he's trying a forward pass, or an incisive pass, or something positive the other 3 out of 5 times. He's coming back to fitness this year after a pretty bad injury and has already created opportunities all over the place.

I really don't know what more you want from a 22 year old. He's a player that could be in the Forest team for a long time hopefully. Just ruddy get behind the players we have that are giving 100% every game, because its working at the moment. I don't want 11 Carvalhos, but I also wouldn't want 11 Watsons or Sows.

The big question is “how long can we keep getting away with it? ”
We were poor at times against Rovers, Worrall and Samba were however great and Watson had a decent game again.

Samba was great barring the goal as he was lazy thinking the block from defenders had worked should have saved it but redeemed himself later.

I would say last year we would of played crap and lost because our heads lowered when the opposistion scored but now we have a fighting mentallity and keep going till the end. For me this is a 100% improvement from last season and to be fair if we can go away to place like Blackburn and get a point then its a good nights work. COYRs.

The Rovers fans were thankful for a point as they recognised what a strong well organised team Forest were so your comment is off the mark Redfrog!

Our only fault was letting the game open up after equalizing instead of pressing them higher up the pitch which put us under pressure late on but we never really looked like losing.

I couldn't quite believe the angle Armstrong finished from. Great finish from Lolley, thought he should have scored in the first minute but would have taken a point before kick off.

We conceded so many corners last night and previous years we would have conceded at least one of those, we are so much more resilient. Tough game on Sat ahead but here isn't many easy ones.

I thought it a very entertaining championship game on a filthy rainy day, it had passion and every player from both sides gave everything, its not premier league football but it was good honest hard working teams who gave their all.
We'd have lost that last season with a thrashing that's how far Lamouchi has taken us in a short time.

Good point at a ground that is usually a graveyard for us.
Game was there for the taking though against a bang average Blackburn side.
Hard to know what our style of play is after that display. If it's counter attack then the touch and passing simply isn't good enough.
Maybe try passing the ball to each other to see a game out rather than just hoofing it and soaking up pressure. We're getting away with it at the moment but won't keep doing Plus my finger nails won't last for much longer unless we can see games out with a bit more comfort.

Sorry fred totally disagree nine games without defeat and your saying its because "were getting away with it? "
Poppy cock we are a hard working team that never knows when to stop running.
Not sure what you want from them? 🤔.

01 Oct 2019 22:39:26
I don't think Fred is diaputing the effort or work rate, that's there for all to see. I think we just need to show a bit more composure when we win the ball back. That way you make the opposition chase the ball and give the defence a breather. Having said that we have to be happy with another point on the road and if we follow that up with a win in the next home game it's been another good week for the Reds.

Your living in dreamland saying we'll be in the top 2 by the end of October and 15 points from next 3 games, well that ones already let you down.
Listen I'm overjoyed where we are in the league and the fact we ain't a soft touch anymore. But if you think we're playing well in games then you need to go to Specsavers.
The championship this season looks like it won't be dominated by one or two teams and we stand a decent chance of a top six finish but we can't keep hanging on for dear life at the end of games because it will eventually go wrong and we'll concede late on and some of the confidence will go.
I'm sure Its not Lamouchi's remit to see games out like we are doing and he's working on our ball retention to ease the late pressure but after some of the passing tonight he's got his work cut out.

Agree3 0Disagree

02 Oct 2019 07:51:23
Lamouchi will realise he made a mistake in bring on Silva as that invited Blackburn to come at us with sow on we looked far more composed.
Ok we won't get the fifteen points but we will still be top two by end of October not seen anything yet that is better and stronger than us.
Been saying from the second game we are not going to control games we are a counter attacking side built on a good solid defence.
Wont be pretty at times but its effective.

Just to point out that the bench were going crackers at the back four for dropping off after the substitutions so Joe needs to learn from this and take control rather than criticise the substitutions?
