He's had words with Cooper. Shouldn't really say on here but he said something to him. Yet another disagreement - as Club Captain he should be given some leeway?

Depends what was said surely? If it was a childish rant then no, if it was constructive criticism then yes.

I first put the news up about Chris Wood about a week or so ago at the beginning of a post. I got the information from some old contacts inside the game. I've heard he's on £80K per week at Newcastle and we've offered to pay him £120K per week! He's alright but that's ridiculous money taking into account that he's 31 and his best form was about 2/ 3 seasons ago. Surely we must off-load Jessie Lingard to balance the books?

1.) 19 Jan 2023 10:46:20
Not keen on signing him permanently but a loan deal would be ok til the end of the season, we need a No9 if Awoniyi is going to be out.

Not concerned by much else about the deal, I trust the club to do what they think is best financially.

2.) 19 Jan 2023 11:02:46
I agree, would be a good loan till the end of the season but not on a permanent I don't think.

3.) 19 Jan 2023 14:26:27
Wood is a proven premier league striker. He’s robust good in the air gets stuck in and is renowned for his hold up play. He can do the dirty stuff has good positional awareness. One one of his stats from last season, of the 15 matches he started Newcastle amassed 29 points. Loan to buy is a no brainier and at 31 has plenty of life, remember we sold chapman to Leeds when we thought he was done at 30ish. His record at Leeds was incredible and I would say similar types of players.

4.) 19 Jan 2023 14:58:05
Yeah fair enough, RR8. He is the type of player that should run well in his thirties, it's not like he's going to lose much pace lol

Nowhere near the finisher Chapman was though, tbf!

5.) 19 Jan 2023 22:37:17
I've said my opinion on wood, but also the position we are in injury wise, probably a sound decision short term.
Centre back now a priority as one more injury in that department and we are screwed.
I'd expect a centre back to arrive on loan from abroad now.
Only four loans aloud two from the prem already done and lodi so I doubt we will buy another center back.
I expect us to sign a permanent striker though as well as wood on loan.

Panzo deal done but can't see the Sam Surrige deal confirmed yet?

RedHotRed

1.) 01 Feb 2022 07:11:23
Both confirmed, the panzo signing probably signals the exit of Harbottle and fernandes in the summer though.

2.) 01 Feb 2022 10:04:57
More like a return to Portugal for Figs?

3.) 01 Feb 2022 11:16:12
It's baba fernandes I was referring to TWF, both out of contractin June.

4.) 01 Feb 2022 11:32:13
Both RH and BF are still young lads, hopefully they'll sign a new deal because they've looked decent in the U23s and when given a first team opportunity. Pretty sure if they're good enough Cooper and Brazil et al will want to keep them on.

I trust the club to make good decisions with youngsters, they usually do. Even pre-Murphy.

5.) 01 Feb 2022 13:51:40
Like both signings young and hungry, surridge determined to prove he can cut it as a striker in the championship which I think he will and ponzo a clearly talented footballer who can defend and create chances at the other end, looks more than capable of playing in midfield and chipping in with a few goals too.
Happy days some good signings this window and got rid of a few fringe players too, which will allow our youngsters to get more of a chance.
Bring on the foxes you reds.
FTID.

6.) 01 Feb 2022 14:17:19
21 now sutty and too many in front of them
Riley Harbottle just on out on loan to Wealdstone for a month.
With mbe soh and panzo in front of them I can't see them making the grade at forest.
To me 21 and you should be at least knocking on the door of the first team.

7.) 01 Feb 2022 14:41:27
You may be right Fff79, but I do trust Forest to make the right call.

And tbh, didn't realise Harbottle was 21, thought he was still in his teens.

8.) 01 Feb 2022 15:00:02
His brothers are
Baba 21 as well, I just look at the likes of worrall Johnson, mighten, finn back, getting first team action in their teens, you have to at keast be good enough to go out on loan to a league one or two side by the time your 20.
We have a tendency to keep calling them youngsters even when they are 23 and more.
Some very good kids in the under 18s that need to step up nowadays not have their paths blocked imo.
Swann, fornah, richardson won't make the grade either as forest first teamers.

9.) 01 Feb 2022 16:10:35
All good points, mate. I've not given up on Fornah and Richardson though, they look decent. I'm probably not as ruthless as you :)

10.) 01 Feb 2022 16:25:03
I just think they should be on loan to better standard than national league at their age and we are paying money for players like ponza and soh who are the same age.

11.) 02 Feb 2022 09:59:39
Richardson should certainly be playing at a higher level than the National League - He looked decent in League Two last season, should really be having a go in League One, like Fornah.

I do get what you're saying, although some do develop late. Grabban, for example, was 23/ 24 before he started scoring regularly in League Two and was 25/ 26 before he had his first decent season in the Championship.

12.) 02 Feb 2022 13:44:45
One of the reasons less are going out on loan, is that Brazil thinks the standard in Prem reserves that we are now in is higher than lower leagues.

02 Mar 2021 22:21:57
Anyone who thinks we have 'turned the corner' has been deluded by Radio Nottingham and this experienced millionaire manager. So many in the team who are below the required Championship standard. Luton are in reality a 3rd division set up playing out of their skins. Glen Murray looked like a feeble old campaigner and I'm struggling to see what CH expects from him without pin point crosses planted on his head? Bad substitutions again! Sickening.

RedHotRed

1.) 03 Mar 2021 19:36:57
Red hot, don’t think it’s what CH expects of Murray, the problem is that you are expecting to much from him, no other strikers wanted to come, he did and as a 37 year old has shown grabbon and Taylor how to play as a centre forward role.

2.) 03 Mar 2021 20:25:18
Well he would come for 30k a week.
Think fans got carried away by him scoring 2 on his debut.
He needs using less at his age and would be better as a sub.
If lising he gives something different if winning he can hold the ball.
Playing from the off is too much in my opinion especially with 3 games every eight days all hughton is doing is wearing him out.

3.) 03 Mar 2021 21:28:53
Agree Ff79. CH seems to be giving him 69/ 70 minutes which is surely too much for him. Should use him either first 30/ 45 mins or last 20 mins? To be fair to him he needs the odd decent cross or two.

4.) 05 Mar 2021 13:52:35
Not sure what game you were watching but we should have been out of sight by half-time.

It is probably the most first half we have dominated all season. 2nd half wasn't so good but crikey, the bloke can't win, we really went for it but got nothing, play it tight and nick a win and CH is too negative, priceless:)

5.) 05 Mar 2021 19:48:29
Same game as you but without rose tinted glasses.
Doesn't matter what possession we have we can't finish.
Second half "wasn't so good? "
We were second best by a mile.

6.) 06 Mar 2021 14:29:59
Sorry but we are a poor side, think we will stay up as there are 3 worse teams than us, just. Not sure CH has shown enough or has enough to turn it around.

7.) 06 Mar 2021 14:57:12
Maraknackers your a joke you sack a proper manager like O’Neil and Keane treat them with no respect then appoint a clown like houghton get out of our club because your loyalty’s only lay with olympicos your a disgrace.

If it was not for Marinakis we wouldn't exist!

14 Dec 2019 22:49:25
Watson seems to be immune from criticism - his miss today was beyond belief! He can't run, shoot, dribble, pass forward, head and has no energy. Reason why Worrell gets MoM nearly every week because Watson not doing his job in midfield ie holding. Games against Preston (1st half), Charlton, Wigan, Leeds, Hull - no holding whatsoever! He's slowing up play and should not feature in home fixtures. A role on the bench as cover for injuries only - finished at Championship level! PS. Silva has his shortcomings but still streets ahead of Carvalho. Sort it quickly Mr Lamouchi please.

RedHotRed

1.) 15 Dec 2019 11:06:51
You get a good 10 games out of Dawson and that's all. he's come back from injury half the player he was prior to his injury. His positioning for 3 of the wednesday goals was shocking. Get Figs and Worrall at the back, get Ribeiro back in for Robinson asap. Sell Carvalho and reinvest wisely.

2.) 15 Dec 2019 16:30:17
As i left the ground and admitt to leaving early a chap was telling me he had heard there had been a training ground bust up don't know if true or not.

3.) 15 Dec 2019 19:05:20
Red hot red I stated on banter site that this wonderful defence has gone to the dogs since Dawson returned. I'm afraid the old one's are being found out the same as our 36 year old centre forward was.

We need strength and speed at this level. Thank goodness its happening now so Sabri can do something about it in January.
Also I have never seen such an unhappy bunch of players even before the game started, completely opposite to about 2 months ago.

I was at the NEC today and got talking to some people who were working on a stand who were in the main Man City supporters. When I mentioned I was a Forest supporter, one of the chaps said he had a friend in Nottingham who was a Forest season ticket holder and then said he'd heard the club are ripping you off on season ticket prices and how disgusted his friend was - and unlikely to renew. The word is getting around the football community about how the club is behaving and treating it's supporters - not a clever situation for a team near the bottom of the league in a relegation battle! Embarrassing to hear it when you're around the country and your team's doing nothing. Badly run club Ms Clapson?

Want Man City to win tonight from the point of view that they will have one eye on the Champions League semi-final when they play us! Might rest players or pull out of a few tackles?

RedHotRed

1.) 18 Apr 2024 06:01:39
They will just put the stiffs out RHR and still hammer us like they did with Luton last week ?.

16 Apr 2024 16:39:53
Looks a good team in the main MUNMAD although with respect to Danilo, he repeatedly goes missing in away matches and hasn't shown enough bottle in them yet - how many chances does he get and can a manager afford to take the risk? Not for the faint hearted at Goodison on Sunday. Also I wouldn't have Omabamadele anywhere near the first team - on a train back to the Championship preferably.

The handling of the new campaign in the Premier League after 23 years absence at best has been amateurish at and more accurately a corporate shambles. Football fair play apart there are so many areas where we have no plans or are losing ridiculous amounts of money.
Nothing in place regarding stadium improvements or capacity increase; Blackburn, Coventry, Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Leicester, Derby, Sheffield United, etc. all have stadia with bigger capacities and key facilities haven't been improved (I still witness brawls and conflicts between our own fans over the use of toilets! ).
We have too many players of the same type signed who can't score a goal.
We have been conned by players with an international track record e. g. Freuler, Lingard
Players have disappeared who could have developed into goalscoring options
Strikers haven't been scouted properly and no research done on injury records.
Impossible for the managers to keep players happy with the numbers so that players know they're not going to get a run in the team
Players who are finished at PLlevel not let go and taking ridiculous wages, e. g. Kouyate
International duty not considered when putting a squad together (should be limits on this)
Prices hiked around the ground and for merchandise with no consultation.
All this and now a season ticket concession issue the fans should stage a friendly protest NOW before the owners have a chance to act!

The week we got promoted back to the premiership I relinquished my seat. never rated this league, neverwill, along with VAR.
If we are relegated rest assured I will be looking to get my season ticket again. Supported the reds for 73 years and will carry on doing so by attending the bread and butter leagues.
Having associates one who is a regular servant to the FA, and another who is associate s with the PFA, gets me some valuable insight of what we as a club are up against in the premiership. Another close associate is connected to the Scottish FA, also an insight of how things are.
With this limited knowledge it allows me to evaluate my attendance at games, that's why I hope on one hand not to be looking for a season ticket, but am assessing the possibilities that I may be at the City Ground next season.
Always have, and always be a Garabaldi.

2.) 15 Apr 2024 23:21:23
Why don't you try giving some credit?
Marinakis got us there when everyone else failed especially doughty who took us the other way.

Yes we made some bad signings, what club doesn't?
Dele Ali at 28 and costing Everton a fortune
Why anyone would prefer their team in a lower league is beyond me
The stadium can't be built while ever the council own the land and the boat club won't play ball.

Yes we've bought some bad players but also bought some good ones
Elanga 5 goals plus 8 assists at 21
Hudson 5 plus 1
Wood 12 plus 1

Add murillo, danilo, MGW just yo name a few and they will make a lot of money back for the club
Now are you sure you support forest or just love moaning?
Everton lost six nil tonight, I have never feared we would lose by that margin all season.

I don't bother much anymore because it's as if you only come on to moan
Nothing constructive to say at all
Just doom and gloom merchant's.

The goal scoring ability gap between Origi and Ollie Watkins is beyond comprehension. A vast chasm of footballing know how and effectiveness for 2 players in the same division!

RedHotRed

1.) 14 Apr 2024 18:55:34
Just as I predicted. just look at the surprise results being thrown out now. especially at the top.

2.) 14 Apr 2024 20:00:22
I know origi ain't great but to compare him to prem top scorer/ assitor not best comparison

Look at elanga or Hudson numbers v anthony or rashford or sancho.

3.) 14 Apr 2024 22:25:36
How many f ck ups has elanga done. Not singling him out. The lads got pace. The player i look up to in this side is murrilo. Playes with good old fashioned heart. Young man, learning his trade, never bitches on tackles, never drops his head when messes up just keeps on going. Full of heart. Always looking for a clinical pass. Or shot looking at the last game bless him. Reds, the forest supporters need murrilo. Like they did cooper. To keep the hearts of what they believe in. THE FIGHT. ? thank you for keeping the hope alive murrilo. and the amazing supporters at the WFCG. Proud of ya.

Yes, would agree back four and keeper best in the Championship. In many games though holding play in midfield has been non existent - desperation football at times! Lots of scrappy wins already - would like to see some more controlled games and more cohesion. And more goals hopefully.

Yes doc m, Murrillo should be tried playing further up the field. He has so much talent it is not being used to full potential in defence just stopping other teams playing. He would break the net with his shooting if he was allowed to get closer to the opposition goal.

Absolutely right RedStripe. Williams was played into positions today any full back would dream about. Maybe 6 clear opportunities and it would have been reasonable for him to have scored from 4 of them. He doesn't have the confidence or power though to take any of them or provide a killer cross. Not ready at this level but at 23 will he ever be? Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp came to this conclusion. No faulting his effort but it would be better to pass to someone else or work the ball down the other flank. As you say, frustrating to watch. Toffolo is worse though that's the main issue.
