You couldn't make it up! Atwell and Taylor struck again last night, oddly enough in favour of the big spenders PSG. Imagine my surprise! 😳.

{Ed001's Note - they will probably have a few extra games officiating in the Qatari Stars League soon, like they do in the UAE league. You know the UAE league which is funded by Man City's owners, that one. Nice first class flights, good hotel and huge pay packet but of course it is not in any way a bribe of course or a conflict of interest either.}

As I said Ed 1, it is unbelievable beyond words mate!

Nice piece of poetry Bowie to start the day. Quite a bit of literary talent on this site, methinks.

02 May 2024 10:10:59
Truly.
Madly.
Deeply.
FOREST!

02 May 2024 15:13:46
There certainly is some talent on here Norfolk! I’ve put a reply to your last post on your your teaching career back in the previous thread mate!

02 May 2024 15:42:23
Thanks Norfolk 🤣🤣🤣.

02 May 2024 19:40:50
I have replied Stokey- thanks for the time taken over your post. Also who can forget Skegs's rant without any punctuation some time ago. It was startlingly brilliant. I read it out loud several times, still makes me smile.

01 May 2024 18:27:12
As for my player of the season. Chris wood, never gets down. Yes without doubt has his off days, but in reality our only hope of scoring. Wouldn't say we paid a fortune for him. Wage not huge. Everyone wrote him off. Some of his finishes been amazing, i know some of his misses too. But never moans actually works hard tracking back defensive etc. And most of all. Doesn't fake injuries for a break. Well done sir and thank you from me.

01 May 2024 19:29:10
Good shout Bowie, he's an honest pro who we have had to rely on more than we should have. He is limited but gives 100%. I can see why you chose him.
I'm going for Murillo though. Again a player we have had to rely on more than we should if injuries to Boly and Filipe hadn't been so lengthy. I just love watching the lad play.
He could become a great player.

01 May 2024 19:32:20
I totally agree. We need more with his attitude in the squad.

01 May 2024 20:50:14
I have to agree Bowie. Wood been great for us often living off scraps

Also MGW always gives 100% but he’s not been as quite effective rice as he could be quite a few times this season.

Also a massive shout out to Murillo 👍.

01 May 2024 21:11:11
Who's your's Balloons?
😂 😂 😂 😂.

01 May 2024 21:46:41
Williams ….

01 May 2024 21:54:15
I posted on murrilo gazz, and admire the lad completely, but the lad does gets lost at times marking. And again, plays high balls from the back. Something i hate to see. But brilliant all the same,

02 May 2024 05:24:41
Let me think Rogie. mmmmm got it. Non of em. A squad of player's that can't string two passes together, can't defend a set piece, can't win away (and at hardly at home come to think of it) show no passion or commitment to the club and would struggle to be championship top half and any body who thinks differently is deluded. The table doesn't lie. Only Marinakas does that. A golden opportunity to cement our future in the top flight has just become a car crash. 🎈.

02 May 2024 09:13:11
Balloons mate the table is lying at the mo we have won more points on the pitch and so have Everton.

02 May 2024 10:57:54
Valid point Stevie yea 👏 🎈.

02 May 2024 11:08:42
We'll still be in 17th, though, Stevie.

02 May 2024 14:45:09
Bowie I think his distribution from the back is amazing. He will only improve as well. He should be getting ordered a massive contract as we need to be building our defence around him. Aina, montiel, neco and toffs aren't a bad start either. A proper centre half when we stay up is key.

02 May 2024 19:03:48
I thought Nuno was the saviour Balloons?
Don't get me wrong, I wanted him to succeed, however we're really no better off than this time last year.

02 May 2024 21:44:31
Derby, yep still 17th but essentially safe with the extra points.

01 May 2024 17:53:47
Strange one, i really can't stand the premier and it's wrongdoings. Yet proud to be in there.
I'm a very proud geordie forest supporter. Anyone that knows me will tell ya so. Ok maybe skegs wont. But anyway.
We go on about players and there worth. Rhr and derbyred, now can you two as a start please tell me how you come to this conclusion.?.
Infact all of ya.
Coz i need to know? I'm not at training sessions, speaking to them on there futures or for that reason filling them full of hope, or regret.
Ok ok i give up on arter 🤣🤣🤣.
As for the rest of the season, yes without doubt we've been robbed, and for me, more than any other club in this league. Again f kn joke bringing another backhander clattendick in to push the faces of them officials in front of us, did it work. Did it hell. How they rebelled probably on hearing it.
Plan x or y we are on now.
Tried a coach who proved he hasn't got the credentials, for me they may not be on the pitch, but the WFCG know what the score is with confidence and management. Comes natural to them of years gone bye.
But c'mon reds, getting sad now. Relying on court statements and the odd point here and there dropped from them beneath us. Is this what you support?
For me, fck it yes proud to play in the most bent league in the world. But bye I'd love championship again. Regroup, ie emotions and heads outta arses. And start again.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 May 2024 18:50:22
What conclusion are you referring to exactly?

01 May 2024 18:57:47
Great posts mate.

01 May 2024 18:58:20
Btw legless got my good father in law arriving here from America on friday, staying with us couple of weeks. Very bright lad, like the good wife. Engineer on aeroplanes. They still ask him in now for ideas. But the reason i tell you this. He's served a long time in Vietnam bless him. Piloting helicopters. The wife reminds me I've got to get used to his shouting through the night having flashbacks etc. Got all day/ night for him, fighting for a cause he and many others shouldn't have, and i won't back down. God bless America as i tell the wife. Trying to police the world. But I'm hopefully going to give my level best to keep him happy and show him our amazing history and lush lands. to which I'm very proud of sir. Ps cue balloons and parmo which is Middlesbrough not us 🤣.

01 May 2024 19:20:19
The state the club is in I think we could have any long stay in the Championship, personal I don’t have the time for this and want to see the big teams here and hopefully give them a game.
I want us to just survive regroup, start to see some common sense and start slowly establish our selves in the PL.
This is entirely possible, no more silliness and tantrums.
CARLO.

01 May 2024 19:35:05
I'm confused. Is it Friday night?!

01 May 2024 19:52:04
You think players are championship level derby?

01 May 2024 20:24:09
Nope he arrives on friday, so this is my friday night 🤣🤣.

01 May 2024 20:38:58
Superb message and sentiment Bowie about your father-in-law. Spoil him rotten whilst being tolerant! Maybe if we meet up someday for a beer or three we can discuss this subject further. I'm an expert I'm afraid - I was diagnosed with complex and chronic PTSD from my tour of Bosnia in the early 90's. From my own experience - I recommend trying to wear your father-in-law out as much as possible during the day! Not only will he enjoy it but it'll also make him sleep more peacefully.

01 May 2024 20:50:47
Some of them are, Bowie. Just watch them and you'll see.

01 May 2024 21:34:29
My wife also suffers with PTSD, but lightly, she served in the army in Iraq mate. So nothing new. More anxiety with her. She was a medic. Life gives us horrible things. But blesses us with truth. As i remind people you need them around ya know it's so obvious, but for me the young just don't see it bless em. Obviously not all. But bye how many i see walking with their eyes on the phone rather than their surroundings.

01 May 2024 21:38:32
I do watch them derby mate. It's the frustrating coaching i worry about, because we can't defend a set f kn piece to save our lives or score from one. ? You sure it's the players.

01 May 2024 22:40:13
I do realise that this is not a 'group therapy' site (! ), but from my own experiences Bowie - mental health recovery is all down to the support network around you. I reckon your father-in-law's stay with you and Mrs Bowie will do him the world of good. Ear plugs at the ready just in case though!

01 May 2024 22:41:53
My grandad must of been been some kind of super hero didn't want to join the army fought on land and sea in second world war moved on to Germany towards the end of the war where he had to go into the concentration camps that were deserted by the German soldiers never once in my lifetime did he mention PTSD maybe it wasn't a word in them days to me he was like a normal person and the best grandad you could ever wish for.

01 May 2024 23:20:26
He sounds like a great man Skegs. I wish that I had his mental strength.

02 May 2024 06:30:24
He was legless one of a kind mate.

02 May 2024 09:19:43
Skegs sights no one should ever have to witness mate, god bless him,

02 May 2024 09:37:10
Stevie he was a gentleman not many of the old era left now I use to stop every weekend and school holidays with him I remember my sister phoning me up at 2 in the morning we'd took him out for his 90 th birthday we all got in at 12 and my sister said come and sort him out he was out drinking with the younger neighbours next door on the front garden till gone 2 in the morning old school 🤣🤣 we buried him on the 11th of the 11th and Hurst turned up just in time for minutes silence quite fitting for him.

02 May 2024 14:52:40
Nice post Carlo. My sentiments exactly, when you get to the highest level of any arena there are always hurdles and unforseen bs you have to contend with. We have a an owner despite his flaws is willing to do what it takes to stay here. He knows the ins and outs of business obviously and hope when we stay up we can start to establish ourselves and outs down roots. Palace and Brighton are great examples. Unlike those clubs, we are a club with a rich history and a shirt a lot of people would want to play for if we get settled in. Lot of people here criticise MR M but there is no perfect owner, player or manager and if you'd told me 3-4 ayears ago we'd be in the prem with NES managing us and are 3 games away from staying in the Prem for a third successive season I'd have sold my first born.

01 May 2024 15:28:00
Look, just to put everyone at ease. We'll beat Sheff Utd, beat Chelsea and draw at Burnley. That'll be enough. Don't worry.

Agree3 Disagree0

01 May 2024 16:18:11
Yes been saying that for a while Who Knows mate. Sheff Utd will have nothing to play for, Chelsea on the beach and Burnley won’t pick up another point before they play us.

01 May 2024 19:22:51
One game at a time but I'm going for forest win against blades and just hoping Burnley and Luton lose.

01 May 2024 20:41:21
Don't think Everton will do us any favours, probably put the fringe players on and Luton give them a good spanking.

01 May 2024 22:22:59
As long as we win won't matter will it red vale 🙄🤣.

02 May 2024 10:39:17
I think this weekend will be a pinch point. Everton may well be mentally on the beach against Luton though I don’t think Dyche will pick a weakened team. Burnley won’t get anything against Newcastle. We might have a life line by then with points returned and the bottom relegated club to play.

02 May 2024 14:54:11
Everton definitely still have something to play for given their current financial dilemma. They will want to finish as high as possible and try to attract buyers/ investors.

02 May 2024 20:36:43
Sydred mate, I think Everton’s confirmed Premiership status will be enough to attract buyers. It’s the spiralling debt that will put them off. One or two places higher in the table will be neither here nor there.
I think ( and I hope I’m wrong) Luton will at least draw with the Toffees and probably win which will put the pressure back on us on Saturday.

01 May 2024 15:50:17
Yates got to be nailed on for Sheffield on Sat.
CARLO.

Agree3 Disagree0

01 May 2024 16:19:17
Agreed Carlo. Sheff Utd should be the sort of feisty scrap he enjoys mate! 👍👍.

01 May 2024 22:18:08
Wow carlo, bless ya son you know i luv ya. Give ya a big smacker and hug every time i see ya. But when you're relying on yates to change a game, it's desperate young man, x.

01 May 2024 15:28:40
Don't know about you lot but waiting for the result of our appeal is as nerve wracking as waiting outside Crown Court to give evidence! 😳😳🫣🫣
I'm going to try and put it out of my mind by going to the New Vic Theatre Newcastle under Lyme tonight with my gorgeous wife to see "One Man two Governors", a comedy farce based on the original ""The Servant with 2 Masters" by Carlo Goldoni, the Italian playwright written in 1743. Should be a great laugh and a good distraction and looking forward immensely to it (but more to a 2 points ( or more) deduction! 😂😁.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 May 2024 15:38:03
Not as nerve racking as waiting in the box at crown Court for your verdict

Allegedly.

01 May 2024 15:58:07
Just hoping the longer it goes on the more chance of them giving some back.

01 May 2024 16:29:11
I was thinking that McGovern. The hearing was over last Wednesday and lasted only a day. What can they be talking about a week later. 2 points in my view is par, anything more is a bonus, anything less ( bearing in mind Everton only got 2 points for a bigger though repeat offence) is basically the Premier League giving us a big f”ck off and don’t come back tablet!
By the way, Redstripe, I’m always amazed that people spend a fortune going on holiday across the Gobi desert or the Serengeti to find peace and quiet. Just give evidence at Crown Court in front of a Judge, a battery of barristers, the assembled press and public plus the Jury, for 2 or 3 days on end. That witness box is the loneliest square yard in the world mate! 😅.

01 May 2024 16:41:55
It's easy waiting for the verdict when you know what's coming.

01 May 2024 17:02:45
Wow, what a memory Stokey! I was plucked aout of class when very young about 9? The teacher chose me, as I spoke well with no Mansfield accent, and I was in in the play you are watching tonight Commedia dell'arte style. I was a servant boy who got a big laugh. What a coincidence!. Anyway, like you I'm waiting and I feel we might need those two points back. Will be well pleased with that. Should we say thanks to the league!

01 May 2024 17:44:08
The whole system is a complete disgrace and in the modern parlance, not fit for purpose.
CARLO.

01 May 2024 17:58:03
That sound awesome Stokie, a right laugh. I bet Peter Kay is craping himself at the competition mate 🤣🎈.

01 May 2024 18:10:14
I'm assuming that is a deeper comment when thought about D3rby?!

01 May 2024 18:33:00
You lot not seen Billy Connolly.

01 May 2024 18:43:24
That’s pretty awesome yourself Norfolk! Balloon mate this version is updated from 1743 Venetian Republic to 1963 Brighton. Big hit in Richard Beans version in the West End. The star is a chap called Michael Hugo who I’ve seen several times before. Very funny and like the comedian Lee Evans on speed! Looking forward to it. At least the New Vic will be open unlike Peter Kay’s venue in Manchester! 😂😂😂.

01 May 2024 18:54:02
Yes, Legless. I was on about me being in the dock when I put me oad man in intensive care. I knew what was coming so it wasn't nerve wracking in the slightest. haha.

01 May 2024 19:12:18
How did the acting career pan out Norfolk. ? It’s odd sometimes. In David Suchets autobiography he says it was his brother John ( who later became the newsreader ) who got all the starring roles in school plays whilst his brother David ( who became the brilliant actor) was always a tree in the background! 😂😂.

02 May 2024 09:13:47
Strangely enough I ended up teaching Drama and Theatre studies in High Schools Stokey; 28 years. That old teacher must have spotted something!

02 May 2024 15:11:08
Hats off to you Norfolk mate. A very worthwhile career and I’m sure you brought enrichment to thousands of children and young people which stood them in good stead for the rest of their lives.

Oddly enough there was what I assume was a school group of around 20 girls and boys aged, ( approximately) 14 or 15 years old in last night ( accompanied by 2 very attractive lady teachers. They seemed to really throw themselves into it. A great evening with a live skiffle group ( whose members were also fine actors), the music of Lonnie Donegal, jokes, music hall, vaudeville, acrobatics, laughs, political satire about the Post Office scandal, Thatcher etc, slapstick and audience participation, all done at breakneck speed.

I thought about you when Michael Hugo, the star came on informally for part two when he introduced himself as Harlequin and asked the audience what they thought about what his motivation should be for Part Two having filled his starving belly with food in Part one under the terms of commedie del arte. A guy in the audience said it must be the pursuit of love to which Hugo said “ we’ve been doing this show for 3 weeks and that’s the best answer so far! “ Then a pause …. Then “Smart Arse”! 😂😂😂😂.

02 May 2024 17:58:26
Cheers Stokey! Glad you had a great night. Theatre is still a great medium to learn as well as pure entertainment. Thanks also for the sentiments in your post. Spot on as always.

01 May 2024 14:07:43
No time or place for faint hearts on Saturday at Bramall Lane

Always a tough place to visit Local Derby no love lost between the fans and teams we need to pick a team for 60 minutes and use good subs for the final 30 when we've won the right to play

Sels

Obamadele
Boly
Murrilo

Aina
Yates
Danilo
Toffelo

Elanga
MGW

Wood

Subs
Turner
Dominguez
Sangare
Awoniyi
Tavares
Riberio
Origi
Niakhate.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2024 16:24:55
Obamadele and Murrilo both disappoint when they play together - we look very weak at the back when it’s those two. Probs be good players in an alternative partnership but shouldn’t both play?

01 May 2024 19:04:30
That’s the side MM unless Boly and Murillo and Williams out injured. This is one to go for the jugular immediately.

01 May 2024 10:55:35
Just listened to Howard Webb try and justify the non-penalty awards against Forest v Everton. In it he mentioned how they've upped the threshold on contact in the box. Really? What happened to the threshold when Rashford was awarded a penalty then against us for absolutely minimal contact in the area? Me thinks he was talking absolute cow droppings.

Agree3 Disagree0

01 May 2024 10:09:15
Unfortunately Legless some are playing to their full potential, they're just not good enough for the Premier League and scouted by an incompetent bunch of amateurs.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Apr 2024 22:56:24
I would love it if our club stopped whingeing and our players started playing to their full potential. A pipe-dream? I hope not.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2024 06:15:00
Most of the players are playing to their full potential, Legless, as most of them are championship level.

01 May 2024 11:08:32
Rubbish most are internationals
It's more the case of the coaching staff not being able to find the right blend and forming a team.

30 Apr 2024 17:33:27
Will Anthony Taylor make any balls ups tonight?
CARLO.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Apr 2024 19:39:10
Well according to Howard Webb we should've had ONE pen against Everton

Listen to the VAR audio and anthony taylor his adamant NO CONTACT PLAYED THE BALL a few times the VAR guy got pressure from his boss and bottled telling him

But we all knew that anyway hence the club statement

A lot less fuss over the admitting of a mistake compared to the fuss about said statement!

And then anthony taylor does that in west ham v scouse game and its like nothings happened Where's accountability for their errors

Beggars belief.

30 Apr 2024 19:40:27
Carlo, it’s like asking is the Pope a Catholic mate! 😂😂😂😂.

30 Apr 2024 20:25:47
Seems Captain Web has accepted we should have had at least 1 penalty against Everton but blamed the referee and Var for being Human and Human s are prone to Mistakes so get rid of VAR then we will only have 1 mistake plus when Our owner went on X well he's only Human and when we failed FFP WELL THE ACCOUNTANT IS ONLY HUMAN!

30 Apr 2024 21:04:30
Had to have a wry smile at Howard Webb's comment that officials are all human beings! Well, they are all human beings in rugby league and union plus cricket but they don’t have a fraction of the errors and cock ups with technology that the football refs do!
Mind you the level of respect and dissent towards football refs is disgraceful compared with other sports.

30 Apr 2024 21:41:28
What good is all this to us now?

30 Apr 2024 21:45:46
Like that jester and very true.

30 Apr 2024 22:30:02
Totally agree with you again Stokey. You actually talk a lot of sense for a burnt-out ex Copper (! ). Keep it up mate.

01 May 2024 06:19:33
Webb said that the first 2 were subjective. So the rules are open to interpretation by the individual and bias can and sometimes will come into the decision making process. But, apparently, VAR is better for the game.

01 May 2024 09:06:10
Jester brilliant post,

01 May 2024 10:49:05
Many thanks for your words Legless, mate, which managed to be, simultaneously, kind, rude and entirely accurate! 😂😂😂
I was more than ever convinced that my decision to retire was correct after watching the footage of the tragic sword attack in London yesterday. It would have been very difficult to achieve any sort of a hit with my taser whilst having a heart attack which I probably would have.
By the way, incredible heroism and bravery on the part of the arresting Metpol officers, particularly the young slip of a Policewoman who took the maniac down with her taser. Also my best wishes for the full recovery of those Police Officers who sustained horrendous injuries and any members of the Public similarly affected. 👏🏻👏🏻🤞🤞😔😔.

01 May 2024 10:53:57
Whilst we are in Howard Webb ( and I hate to disparage a fellow ex Police Officer) perhaps he could have prevented a lot of unnecessary grief by quietly replacing Stuart Atwell on VAR when his Luton connection was revealed? It’s basic common sense really ….

01 May 2024 15:47:20
It’s in the FA guidelines Stokey
Declaring a conflict of interest.
However these don’t apply to Forest matches apparently.
I’ve also read a great article on the charges concerning Man City. The fact that the problem has been ongoing for several years and the fact they have avoided any hearing up to now is, to me, more evidence of corruption.
The irony of City fans chanting you cheating b……s on Sunday would be funny if it wasn’t serious.
It feels we’re unwanted.
They love to shoot the messenger for saying some
Inconvenient truths.
I do hope we’re still in the Prem next season
And Forza put up a massive two fingered display in the Trent End.

01 May 2024 16:32:15
Good post Carey, couldn’t agree more mate!
