I'm hearing rumours we've re signed Sam Surridge? Anybody else heard this or is it a windup?
I thought he did well for us by the way.

Right now I'd take him over Taiwo and if Everton are serious about taking him off us its got to be win win.

There's talk linking us with De Zerbi. So long as it's not his much less successful Championship brother De Derbi. ????.

Paul Taylor of the Athletic says we are to be informed we are in breach of FFP tomorrow. He's not usually wrong. ???.

50 quid fine ?.

Wrist slap, after appeal. ?.

3.) 15 Jan 2024 12:23:23
I d add quite a few noughts to that Skegs if I were you mate! And that’s if we are lucky. It’s loss of points that will kill us…….

4.) 16 Jan 2024 01:50:21
“The name of the club doesn't matter. Every club should be treated equally under the rules set out.

“But the elephant in the room isn't being addressed. 115 charges, zero action. Why? ”.

5.) 16 Jan 2024 09:32:22
There's a cult developing In this fanbase. Some fans am have fallen for the clueless and wreckless owners nonesense about ambition while breaking rules he voted to make last year at the long term expenses of the club. Thankgod for ffp to protect the long term future of clubs from bad ownership. Show some real ambition Instead of being nodding dogs to mariankiss, he sells anyone good buys a team for the money he gets and says that ambition, the ground was announced five years ago nothing, we are a laughing stock under him. Get these out while we're prem and hope for proper owners from USA or suadi.

6.) 16 Jan 2024 18:27:39
My nonsense-meter is twitching!

Owners take a calculated risk to stay in the Prem. Get accused of being wreckless when it works. Fans like being in the Prem are called members of a cult.

The solution: Get owners like the ones at Man United (Glazers? ) or Man city (109 charges and run a country where women celebrate being ALLOWED to drive in 2018),

Forstphil, what team do you support?

7.) 16 Jan 2024 22:23:12
Forestphil1234 - what a load of tosh!

I don't usually pay much credence to the comments of Jamie Carragher aka Spit the Punk Dog, but the NEP s reported conversation between him and SC is very interesting and worth a read. It's a good summation of SCs "nightmare"situation under Marinkinakos ( and presumably that situation will be continued under Nunez).
It would appear that SC had no idea of what players ( and in what numbers) would be arriving at the club, despite his oft repeated mantra that he, the owner and the recruitment team were all supposedly "reading off the same page"?
It might be a rare glimpse behind the scenes at our beloved club before the media gag is imposed as part of the terms of SCs payoff.

Tough to see SC go and we have to remain positive about Nuno. Did a great job with Wolves so just got to see how the City ground welcomes him saturday.

Transfers wise, realistically, we sell McKenna and Worrall unless they are given a chance by Nuno. I think we cancel the loans for Montiel, Tavares, santos and origi - they have offered us nothing all season.

Maybe sell Boly as he hates Nuno from their time at wolves and maybe sell Felipe due to injuries (hard for me to say this) but he's a strong leader in the group.

We sign Nino from Fluminense (centre half linked with) and get Omobamidele involved more with 1st team squad

The midfield is sound and we cover - Yates and Mangala start.

We buy another winger who has PL experience to compete with Hudson-Odoi and Elanga (Sancho on loan but doubt that will happen! ) and then we buy a striker. Maybe try and get the lad Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart for 17.5m release clause but he may go elsewhere. Keep Wood as a last minute backup ready for Awoniyi.

2.) 21 Dec 2023 14:12:18
I don't get why we keep going on about players coming in are not the managers choice, it been like that for years now thier is not one manager out their that has control over the players that come in.

A manager years ago would go and scout the player themselves and go back to the owner or chairman and say who they wanted, however we don't have managers anymore they are HEAD COACH who are just told to train the players and its done to the director or football who we bring in, and it's also a lot to do with agents who in my opinion have spoilt the game.

3.) 21 Dec 2023 15:14:21
Lower BC, that’s why we willl never attract any great coaches. Can you imagine Klopp, Pep or Arteta putting up with the interference like SC has had to? Hence, the merry go round of new appointments.

4.) 21 Dec 2023 18:12:51
Do you really think they have that much say on who comes in aswell, good example kelvin Philips great prospect went to man city and has sat on the bench, he was not peps choice of player and it shows pep didn't want him, arteta never wanted ramesdale his first choice was alway raya.

We won't attract no big coach at the moment due to not finishing high enough in the league and no European football.

Who is a top class coach you would like to see though being our head coach, for me I would like Marco rose.

{Ed001's Note - neither of those examples are true, both Pep and Arteta have full control of recruitment.}

5.) 21 Dec 2023 19:40:32
Thought so Ed1. What’s the recruitment agreement at Liverpool with Klopp?

{Ed001's Note - he has final say.}

Dennis also I guess before Ayew. Though, as I say, none of those replacements have pulled any trees up this season . ?.

Taiwo out of induced coma and recovering with his family around him. Great news and and get well soon big man ????.

StokeyRed

1.) 15 May 2025 09:14:24
Yes, great news but unsure if this could be a seriously long delay before a return to the game or a few months, or at all?

2.) 15 May 2025 09:30:49
Excellent news, also wishing him a speedy recovery, all the best Taiwo.
???.

3.) 15 May 2025 10:03:41
Get well soon mate!

4.) 15 May 2025 10:05:25
Norfolk, I’m informed that, if it is a ruptured intestine, it’s probably going to be the end of his football career sadly mate …. but none of us know the full extent of the injury.

5.) 15 May 2025 10:39:04
Yes it's good news and hope he makes a full recovery, and I'm sure his teammates or (work mates), will make his first trip back to the training ground with something like pillows on the goal posts!.
It feels like these last games we have all the bad luck at once, get this season over and regroup for next season.

14 May 2025 15:31:49
Regarding MGWs driving ban. In a statement he said " Well, at least I got more points than Derby ". ?????.

Very good Stokey! Ref your comment earlier about Richard Cockerill, do you remember Martin Bayfield's words about him in 'that' after-dinner speech?

"Richard Cockerill - a man voted most likely to marry outside his own species".

2.) 14 May 2025 23:24:55
That speech by Martin Bayfield is well worth a view on YouTube if you fancy a laugh Reds. Great comparison of football vs rugby!

13 May 2025 20:32:24
Our nemesis on Sunday was Fecundo Buenanotte, a 20 year old Argentine international on loan from Brighton.
His introduction as sub was a "fruitful" one for Leicester. Let's hope he hasn't caused us to say "Good Night" to our Champions League dreams. ( see what I did there? ) ??????.

I wish Taiwo all the best in his recovery. He's not had a very lucky season all round. Good luck and see you fit and rearing to go for next season. ????
As a footnote to this whole unfortunate incident which in turn led to the Mr M s intervention at the end I wonder whether T was too brave and indicated to the medical staff, wrongly, that he felt able to carry on?
It was a right old whack which shook the metal goalpost.
On my daughter's first day as trainee physio with Leicester Tigers she was welcomed by their coach Richard Cockerill ( you'll remember him Legolas as the tough as teak hooker who led the England lads into the middle of a Kiwi haka). He was an absolute gentleman with her but the first thing he told her was that she would have to be firm with his players and be prepared to over rule a 6'8" 17 stone rugby player who wouldn't come off unless his head had head had been stoved in. He stressed hers was the final decision and player safety was paramount always no matter what the player said.
I wonder if that's why the medics made a wrong decision?

1.) 13 May 2025 18:37:27
He's rubbish stokey, bless him trying for the goal. But just not good enough. Pointless trying to blame officials on his injury. Just ain't been up for it. Was hinting (or rumours ) he wanted away, championship player for me. Mr m should be Roger Hargreaves next book but sadly left us in 1988, loved that laddies books for me. My kids and grandkids. Life goes on.

2.) 13 May 2025 19:38:12
Sick bed the only problem is no one will want to be the smiling assassin now could of got a million for him as well.

3.) 13 May 2025 20:10:38
First season he kept us up n we'll all be forever grateful, but this season done nothing, spurs away he went running for theball n looked like he was towing a caravan

On the rare days he's fit can be unplayable but I think he's got constant injury issues, don't forget the scouse saw something in him

I'd say all the best n both move on.

I can't add much more regarding Sundays game than the excellent posts already on here. Before the game I agreed with Stevie's comment that it wouldn't be easy and it wasn't. In the end we were lucky to get away with a point. It was a classic case of a poor already relegated team playing with a mixture of carefree freedom and a determination to get one over their local rivals. We were comfortably the better side before they got the first after Woodys headed miss. Likewise after we equalised then for about 15 minutes after we went ahead. The last 20 was where it gradually came undone. I don't know whether it was nerves at the prize within our grasp or exhaustion on a hot day. But earlier in the season we'd have killed the game at 2 1 or even added a third. Murillo was a miss certainly ( as was CHO) but l can't put my finger on it. Neither can Nuno by all accounts.
There's a lot to be said for the theory that we suffer from inexperience at being at the top as the season draws to a close. It's where teams like Manchester City, Chelsea, Villa, have the mental edge. They've been there and done it. Yet we spent over 100 days comfortably in the top 3. Perhaps the joy of winning and consistently has now become a grind.
Anyway, onwards and upwards. This season still has some twists and turns in it. Champions League is still on the cards. Perhaps securing European football with 2 games to go might settle the team down?
It's West Ham next which might suit us, as they will look to attack and put some gloss on a poor season in a final home game.
I stand by my Champions League prediction. We have thrown away the lifeline gained by the point at Palace so now we have to swim to the shore by ourselves by showing some bottle
Coyr!

Unfortunately Stokey I think we have missed the boat, using your analogy. If any team takes our place hope it's Villa, which I think they will. Our paper thing squad has cost us?.

2.) 13 May 2025 19:36:06
As cost us what ??? were playing European football next season for god's sake. some fans ?.

3.) 14 May 2025 13:12:09
And the Micky mouse cups may well cost us our Premier League place?.

Winter, mate, I read somewhere that Aina on his travels had given an interview to some African newspaper letting slip he’d already signed a new long term contract with Forest. This could he a mistranslation of course. Hope it’s true though. Not only an excellent, fast and versatile footballer, he seems a leader in the dressing room too.

Just reading up on Taiwos injury ( assuming it was a ruptured intestine as reported) apparently it has a 25% fatality rate if not treated quickly, ideally in the “golden “ hour immediately after the injury occurs. The big danger is your old near nemesis sepsis Lego so they’ll be wary of that in hospital.
In some respects I feel sorry for the onfield medical staff who are going to have the book thrown at them. It’s hard to detect short of wheeling a CT Scanner onto the pitch.

Lego, mate, I’ve never been a fan of “hair dryer” type bollockings, certainly not in public or in front of colleagues. Please don’t get me wrong, I recognise the need for discipline as the basis for life and everything really and I’ve instituted disciplinary actions against Officers, represented several at hearings and been disciplined myself. I think Niccolo Machiavelli’s dictum that “it’s always better for a Prince to be feared than loved” is ok for medieval times but not in today’s world. It stymies initiative and enterprise and causes more harm than good imo.
By the way, I used to have to listen to interminable debates between the 2 ex paras and 1 ex Royal Marine on my shift at Nottingham Central as to the different disciplinary codes of these 2 elite units. Basically, the Paras were trained to run through brick walls by brute force, the Marines to negotiate a way around them by skill and deceit. The classic bludgeon v rapier. They never came to an agreement…….

Woke up to the dreadful news about Taiwo. Believed to be a ruptured intestine, further op today. It could easily have been fatal and my information is that it may well be football career ending. It’s often the sort of injury suffered in a car crash.
My best wishes to the lad and his family and may his God be with him ???????.
