I'm hearing rumours we've re signed Sam Surridge? Anybody else heard this or is it a windup?
I thought he did well for us by the way.
1.) 01 Feb 2025 01:26:44
Right now I'd take him over Taiwo and if Everton are serious about taking him off us its got to be win win.
23 May 2024 17:14:18
There's talk linking us with De Zerbi. So long as it's not his much less successful Championship brother De Derbi. ????.
14 Jan 2024 21:25:35
Paul Taylor of the Athletic says we are to be informed we are in breach of FFP tomorrow. He's not usually wrong. ???.
1.) 14 Jan 2024 22:12:34
50 quid fine ?.
2.) 15 Jan 2024 12:12:55
Wrist slap, after appeal. ?.
3.) 15 Jan 2024 12:23:23
I d add quite a few noughts to that Skegs if I were you mate! And that’s if we are lucky. It’s loss of points that will kill us…….
4.) 16 Jan 2024 01:50:21
“The name of the club doesn't matter. Every club should be treated equally under the rules set out.
“But the elephant in the room isn't being addressed. 115 charges, zero action. Why? ”.
5.) 16 Jan 2024 09:32:22
There's a cult developing In this fanbase. Some fans am have fallen for the clueless and wreckless owners nonesense about ambition while breaking rules he voted to make last year at the long term expenses of the club. Thankgod for ffp to protect the long term future of clubs from bad ownership. Show some real ambition Instead of being nodding dogs to mariankiss, he sells anyone good buys a team for the money he gets and says that ambition, the ground was announced five years ago nothing, we are a laughing stock under him. Get these out while we're prem and hope for proper owners from USA or suadi.
6.) 16 Jan 2024 18:27:39
My nonsense-meter is twitching!
Owners take a calculated risk to stay in the Prem. Get accused of being wreckless when it works. Fans like being in the Prem are called members of a cult.
The solution: Get owners like the ones at Man United (Glazers? ) or Man city (109 charges and run a country where women celebrate being ALLOWED to drive in 2018),
Forstphil, what team do you support?
7.) 16 Jan 2024 22:23:12
Forestphil1234 - what a load of tosh!
21 Dec 2023 11:18:06
I don't usually pay much credence to the comments of Jamie Carragher aka Spit the Punk Dog, but the NEP s reported conversation between him and SC is very interesting and worth a read. It's a good summation of SCs "nightmare"situation under Marinkinakos ( and presumably that situation will be continued under Nunez).
It would appear that SC had no idea of what players ( and in what numbers) would be arriving at the club, despite his oft repeated mantra that he, the owner and the recruitment team were all supposedly "reading off the same page"?
It might be a rare glimpse behind the scenes at our beloved club before the media gag is imposed as part of the terms of SCs payoff.
1.) 21 Dec 2023 12:21:52
Tough to see SC go and we have to remain positive about Nuno. Did a great job with Wolves so just got to see how the City ground welcomes him saturday.
Transfers wise, realistically, we sell McKenna and Worrall unless they are given a chance by Nuno. I think we cancel the loans for Montiel, Tavares, santos and origi - they have offered us nothing all season.
Maybe sell Boly as he hates Nuno from their time at wolves and maybe sell Felipe due to injuries (hard for me to say this) but he's a strong leader in the group.
We sign Nino from Fluminense (centre half linked with) and get Omobamidele involved more with 1st team squad
The midfield is sound and we cover - Yates and Mangala start.
We buy another winger who has PL experience to compete with Hudson-Odoi and Elanga (Sancho on loan but doubt that will happen! ) and then we buy a striker. Maybe try and get the lad Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart for 17.5m release clause but he may go elsewhere. Keep Wood as a last minute backup ready for Awoniyi.
2.) 21 Dec 2023 14:12:18
I don't get why we keep going on about players coming in are not the managers choice, it been like that for years now thier is not one manager out their that has control over the players that come in.
A manager years ago would go and scout the player themselves and go back to the owner or chairman and say who they wanted, however we don't have managers anymore they are HEAD COACH who are just told to train the players and its done to the director or football who we bring in, and it's also a lot to do with agents who in my opinion have spoilt the game.
3.) 21 Dec 2023 15:14:21
Lower BC, that’s why we willl never attract any great coaches. Can you imagine Klopp, Pep or Arteta putting up with the interference like SC has had to? Hence, the merry go round of new appointments.
4.) 21 Dec 2023 18:12:51
Do you really think they have that much say on who comes in aswell, good example kelvin Philips great prospect went to man city and has sat on the bench, he was not peps choice of player and it shows pep didn't want him, arteta never wanted ramesdale his first choice was alway raya.
We won't attract no big coach at the moment due to not finishing high enough in the league and no European football.
Who is a top class coach you would like to see though being our head coach, for me I would like Marco rose.
{Ed001's Note - neither of those examples are true, both Pep and Arteta have full control of recruitment.}
5.) 21 Dec 2023 19:40:32
Thought so Ed1. What’s the recruitment agreement at Liverpool with Klopp?
{Ed001's Note - he has final say.}
14 Mar 2023 18:08:56
Dennis also I guess before Ayew. Though, as I say, none of those replacements have pulled any trees up this season . ?.

Just got home after my hols and caught up on the football action.
For what it's worth, Newcastle's first goal shouldn't have been allowed. MGW was fairly tackled on the ball but the two handed shove over by the eventual scorer was a foul in that it prevented him from competing to get the ball back. Probable yellow card as well.
By that point Newcastle could have been 3 or 4 up but for Sels and poor finishing so it's largely irrelevant as we were completely dominated everywhere on the pitch apart from some dogged defending especially first half.
Incidentally both goals were the result of trying to play out from the back which is an Ange innovation. It was a Nono under Nuno. Under him we counter attacked with pace and aggression with fast wingers and a centre forward who converted, sprung from MGW. Now we are disjointed and trying tactically to change horses in mid river.
Never going to work and doesn't suit us, never has historically either.
1.) 08 Oct 2025 16:23:48
Welcome back from Hols and Site, your assessment of Newcastle game quite correct, if Postecoglou is staying, should the senior players have a word about tactics, and what's achievable?, like Dyche he's a stubborn sod, if he thinks, he's right.
2.) 08 Oct 2025 16:42:01
It's a contact sport. No foul anywhere in the first goal.
3.) 08 Oct 2025 16:53:33
Even Peps reverted to a more direct style now, probably to do with their current keepers can't use their feet but not the point. Fulham are notorious for playing out and look where that got them against Bournemouth.
Always said a keeper should just lump it forward. ?.
4.) 08 Oct 2025 17:12:14
And for what it's worth Stokey we are in a right mess. We wouldn't have scored at Newcastle if we was still playing now mate. High press entertaining football ?? One shot on target straight into the keepers hands. Absolute horror show, unwatchable.
5.) 08 Oct 2025 18:30:39
It was definitely a painful catch up watch on Forest TV Larry. I agree with you. Likewise the defensive shambles against the Danes mate.
6.) 08 Oct 2025 20:40:30
It is a contact sport Ravers but that doesn’t extend to being shoved over by a barge with both hands to your opponent’s chest. Having said that, I’ve been playing and following football for 59 years and I no longer know what constitutes a foul mate…….
06 Oct 2025 10:04:07
Talking to the waiters here, I missed Bobby Zamora by a few weeks. They hold kids football coaching sessions here run by Anton Ferdinand and Joe Hart amongst others.
1.) 06 Oct 2025 11:10:52
Unlucky Stokey mate.
Welcome back!
06 Oct 2025 09:56:53
Has he gone yet? ??.
1.) 06 Oct 2025 11:45:30
Unfortunately I fear we are stuck with him till Xmas. The Board can't see through him, though maybe Rafa is waiting in the wings, though I'm afraid he won't be much help either.
2.) 06 Oct 2025 17:00:07
Stokey vanishes and DTP is posting. DTP vanishes and Stokey is posting. Hmmm.
3.) 06 Oct 2025 18:17:02
I don’t know about that Silk but people have said that you never see me and Daniel Craig in the same room at the same time………????.
4.) 06 Oct 2025 20:16:46
I, m very happy to see Stokie back but!
05 Oct 2025 18:55:21
I haven't seen today's game or the defeat to the Danish Pork Butchers 11 as I'm on my hols in Spain and couldn't find the games on TV or in a bar.
In general terms Postecoglou is, imo, a poor fit and appointed at the wrong time.
Firstly, our success in getting into Europe is based on a solid defence and quick counter attacking football last season ( in the fine tradition of Cloughies teams). I don't see the point of appointing an attacking coach who doesn't play to our strengths and particularly with no pre season and no time to coach the team ( and the 13 new transfer window arrivals ) in the new methods with the season well under way.
Ok I have some sympathy with Ange because he's been thrown in at the deep end and has had bad luck with injuries to key players like Aina and Murillo. As Napoleon said, it's better to have a lucky General than a good one.
I do agree that we needed to expand the squad to cope with the extra Europa games with the associated air miles and loss of recovery time between games. The jury is out on recruitment. For example Zinchenko is the slowest full back I think I've ever seen at the WFCG, exposed against Sunderland. Ndoye has good skills but lacks Elangas blistering pace to get away from his marker, having beaten him at close quarters. Wood looks a shadow of his former self in Anges new system. Jesus looks like he has potential.
A word of warning. The Coates betting billionaires who own Stoke City got rid of Tony Pulis because of his dire but successful ultra defensive tactics which involved getting the ball off the pitch as often as possible and breaking up the play based around a great goalkeeper Begovic ( like us) two massive and ruthless centre backs, Huth and Shawcross ( ditto) and a big old fashioned centre forward Kenwyn Jones ( ditto Wood). He brought in more attacking coachs and look where they are now.
I'm not saying we are as dire as Stoke were. They were exceptionally anti football ( see Jonathon Wilson's excellent book " The Inverted Pyramid " for their exceptional negativity analysed statistically)
Ange is in the same position as Nuno when he first arrived and Cooper before him in terms of preparation for his new era and, like them, it's going to be a struggle.
1.) 05 Oct 2025 19:35:47
Nice to see you posting again Stokey. Miss your Monday reviews!
2.) 05 Oct 2025 19:47:55
Good to see you posting stokey.
3.) 05 Oct 2025 19:53:54
Welcome back Stokey mate.
4.) 05 Oct 2025 19:59:30
It's good to have you back on here my friend. I've missed your anti-brevity posts! As such, I've just requested another appointment at Plymouth Eye Hospital.
As we all know too well, being a Forest fan has always been a roller-coaster ride. However, my biggest worry at the moment is how quickly the passion and belief from last mid-season has evaporated.
How we all regain that passion and belief is ultimately down to Big M - and his personal struggle between reality vs his own ego.
5.) 06 Oct 2025 08:56:10
I guess my post is just a long winded way of saying “be careful what you wish for “ mate.
Anyway, off to the pool with my light holiday reading “Judgement at Tokyo” by Gary J. Bass, a magisterial account of the Japanese post WW2 war crimes trials…. ???.
16 Aug 2025 11:18:23
EXTRAORDINARY OUTBURST.
Just looking in full at Nunos press conference remarks on Forest's preparedness for this season.
Incredible remarks made in public obviously what he's been saying in private to the hierarchy. Clearly some politicking with Edu and the recruitment team and process and their "missed opportunities ".
It strikes me Nuno must be confident of his power base ( ie staff, players and crucially Mr M. ) The pundits rightly say it's best to ask for and get what you want at the beginning of a new contract and on the back of last seasons achievements, and I think they are right.
It's a bit unfair because of incomings, securing MGW ( and hopefully others like CHO) and the resolution of our European competition legal judgement with Palace, which has delayed this. Clearly Nuno wanted his squad fully in place ( and the departures gone) before pre season and certainly before the start of the season proper.
We certainly haven't got here ( in the words of US Confederate Cavalry Commander Nathan Bedford Forrest) "Fastest with the mostest" the basis of his ( and Nuno's) Philosophy.
A win tomorrow is vital as it buys us time to get the belated but welcome new signings bedded in.
Perhaps a little bit of kidology at play here but one to watch comrades.
1.) 16 Aug 2025 12:12:24
"Conspiracy Theory"
Perhaps Nunos found out Edu's been looking around for a new coach, incase we are not where Mr Marinakis thinks we should be in the league by January?, and also Silva at Fulham putting it out there that he's not happy with the recruitment there, he's also a coach Mr Marinakis knows! ?. Or like the Moon landings, there's nothing in it?.
2.) 16 Aug 2025 12:43:42
Recruitment has been dilatory to say the least, however remember Edu did not take up his position until July 7th just gone, and many players wanted to know the Europa situation before signing.
I think matters, including keeping MGW, have been largely out of Forest's control - probably Agents to blame - and moving players on like Miguel has taken far too long. We still have Bowler and Dennis to get out on loan but this can occur before next month.
Nuno is going to have to get used to this knife-edged situation probably year on year, because as the squad ages young replacements will be needed and the top clubs are already making moves for them.
Mr. M is doing the best he can but we are not accruing monies unless we can sell as well as buy, plus there is a rebuild on the stadium to think of. Fans' pockets can only stretch so far. Winning trophies will give forest more exposure to sponsors!
3.) 16 Aug 2025 13:19:05
Pitiful pre season. Not good enough and ill prepared for the season. Now we have a disgruntled coach who’s feeling the need to prepare the fans for a poor start to the season. All a bit strange if you ask me, seems like he wants out himself, clearly an unhappy camp at CG, I’ll be surprised if Nuno is there for much longer, couple of poor performances (maybe because he’s looking for a way out ) will see him gone.
If I’m honest I think he’s been found out anyway.
4.) 16 Aug 2025 14:14:16
Apart from the really big clubs it's been a difficult window for most with a lot of teams looking at the same players available. I don't think nuno is disgruntled at all, he has kept most of the team, but he likes working with a small group and doesn't want players hanging around the team that will most likely leave, he is open about what he thinks the club needs and I agree with him. The 3-4 signings will goto making sure he has what he needs to be able to change the way we play when needed in some games. I still unsure what benefits Edu will bring to forest in particular but can see why Mr M may want him involved in wider group of teams.
5.) 17 Aug 2025 11:16:20
A lot of hoo haa going on here from every one a out preseason and speculation over edu etc, what a load of absolute bs the lot of you. If we have poor results for the first four games then there should be this negative energy. It's fing depressing reading the sheite on here sometimes. if we get Luiz, Lewis, or even Brownhill (free agent) and this french striker passes his medical, we have a bloody strong team. We are in Europe and would have assembled a squad to be proud of. I for one love this club, our owner ambition and our coaches calm and direct personality. Trust the people who actually knows wtf is going on and let's support our boys in what will be an amazing season either which way.
09 Oct 2025 21:03:13
I thought Rafa has had heart problems in the past? The last thing you want as a Forest manager is a dodgy ticker……. ???.
12 Aug 2025 22:11:35
I agree Mossy. It’s an absolute shambles mate. Transfer window should end at least a fortnight before the action starts imo. Very unfair to the clubs who have to sell.
12 Aug 2025 10:15:01
I’d imagine Man City will insert a buy back clause Mossy to prevent a re occurrence of the Cole Palmer miscalculation. In other words we get the lad cheap but become a nursery club for the big boys. That’s just the way it is mate ….
05 Aug 2025 20:33:55
Very good! ???.
05 Aug 2025 18:59:08
Ideal as our owner has a notoriously twitchy trigger finger………??.
16 Oct 2025 11:09:05
With some of these cheese jokes, I think we should tread Caerphilly imo….
14 Oct 2025 14:14:55
Lessons from history comrades…. talking about Rolls Royce managers. Sometimes, in an emergency, you need a simpler, less glamorous alternative, with no frills but keeps going and gets you where you need to be, a Dyche mobile perhaps.
In WW2 the superbly engineered Tiger tank was easily the best of all the armies. Equivalent to any 3 or 4 opponents, better armoured, quicker, more powerful armament. Unfortunately, on the Russian front, a certain Mr Mikhail Koshkin designed the T 34. Easy to build and maintain but solid, no frills. Uncomfortable for the crews, noisy but dependable. I should know I’ve been in one. But you could change a track in 30 minutes and replace a worn out gun barrel in a day. Just outnumbered the Tigers and overwhelmed them in the end.
Likewise, the business like Roman sword. Short stabbing, kill and move on. None of this fancy sword play nonsense…… Do you see what I’m getting at?
14 Oct 2025 10:53:05
I hate to say this Mossy and Norfolk but I can't see us getting anything in our next 3 games. It’s the definition of madness to keep using the same tactics, players and methods yet expect a different result my friends.
Ange out, Dyche in gives us a much better chance of accumulating points and steadying the ship imo.
12 Oct 2025 15:13:38
Dyche is an excellent manager for the predicament we find ourselves in. He’s a lot more than the “ any port in a storm” solution imo. Especially with his Forest connections plus Woan and Stone onboard. His pragmatic style ( like Nuno’s ) would be ideal in retrieving our faltering European campaign.
The only fly in the ointment is that Mr M. ( who has messed up badly and not for the first time) would have to admit he was wrong, not easy for a man like him.
However, he might as well bite the bullet sooner rather vegan later with Chelsea, Porto and Bournemouth coming up. Ange is a dead man walking so the big man might as well put him ( and us) out of his misery.
