Paul Taylor of the Athletic says we are to be informed we are in breach of FFP tomorrow. He's not usually wrong. ???.
1.) 14 Jan 2024 22:12:34
50 quid fine ?.
2.) 15 Jan 2024 12:12:55
Wrist slap, after appeal. ?.
3.) 15 Jan 2024 12:23:23
I d add quite a few noughts to that Skegs if I were you mate! And that’s if we are lucky. It’s loss of points that will kill us…….
4.) 16 Jan 2024 01:50:21
“The name of the club doesn't matter. Every club should be treated equally under the rules set out.
“But the elephant in the room isn't being addressed. 115 charges, zero action. Why? ”.
5.) 16 Jan 2024 09:32:22
There's a cult developing In this fanbase. Some fans am have fallen for the clueless and wreckless owners nonesense about ambition while breaking rules he voted to make last year at the long term expenses of the club. Thankgod for ffp to protect the long term future of clubs from bad ownership. Show some real ambition Instead of being nodding dogs to mariankiss, he sells anyone good buys a team for the money he gets and says that ambition, the ground was announced five years ago nothing, we are a laughing stock under him. Get these out while we're prem and hope for proper owners from USA or suadi.
6.) 16 Jan 2024 18:27:39
My nonsense-meter is twitching!
Owners take a calculated risk to stay in the Prem. Get accused of being wreckless when it works. Fans like being in the Prem are called members of a cult.
The solution: Get owners like the ones at Man United (Glazers? ) or Man city (109 charges and run a country where women celebrate being ALLOWED to drive in 2018),
Forstphil, what team do you support?
7.) 16 Jan 2024 22:23:12
Forestphil1234 - what a load of tosh!

I don't usually pay much credence to the comments of Jamie Carragher aka Spit the Punk Dog, but the NEP s reported conversation between him and SC is very interesting and worth a read. It's a good summation of SCs "nightmare"situation under Marinkinakos ( and presumably that situation will be continued under Nunez).
It would appear that SC had no idea of what players ( and in what numbers) would be arriving at the club, despite his oft repeated mantra that he, the owner and the recruitment team were all supposedly "reading off the same page"?
It might be a rare glimpse behind the scenes at our beloved club before the media gag is imposed as part of the terms of SCs payoff.
1.) 21 Dec 2023 12:21:52
Tough to see SC go and we have to remain positive about Nuno. Did a great job with Wolves so just got to see how the City ground welcomes him saturday.
Transfers wise, realistically, we sell McKenna and Worrall unless they are given a chance by Nuno. I think we cancel the loans for Montiel, Tavares, santos and origi - they have offered us nothing all season.
Maybe sell Boly as he hates Nuno from their time at wolves and maybe sell Felipe due to injuries (hard for me to say this) but he's a strong leader in the group.
We sign Nino from Fluminense (centre half linked with) and get Omobamidele involved more with 1st team squad
The midfield is sound and we cover - Yates and Mangala start.
We buy another winger who has PL experience to compete with Hudson-Odoi and Elanga (Sancho on loan but doubt that will happen! ) and then we buy a striker. Maybe try and get the lad Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart for 17.5m release clause but he may go elsewhere. Keep Wood as a last minute backup ready for Awoniyi.
2.) 21 Dec 2023 14:12:18
I don't get why we keep going on about players coming in are not the managers choice, it been like that for years now thier is not one manager out their that has control over the players that come in.
A manager years ago would go and scout the player themselves and go back to the owner or chairman and say who they wanted, however we don't have managers anymore they are HEAD COACH who are just told to train the players and its done to the director or football who we bring in, and it's also a lot to do with agents who in my opinion have spoilt the game.
3.) 21 Dec 2023 15:14:21
Lower BC, that’s why we willl never attract any great coaches. Can you imagine Klopp, Pep or Arteta putting up with the interference like SC has had to? Hence, the merry go round of new appointments.
4.) 21 Dec 2023 18:12:51
Do you really think they have that much say on who comes in aswell, good example kelvin Philips great prospect went to man city and has sat on the bench, he was not peps choice of player and it shows pep didn't want him, arteta never wanted ramesdale his first choice was alway raya.
We won't attract no big coach at the moment due to not finishing high enough in the league and no European football.
Who is a top class coach you would like to see though being our head coach, for me I would like Marco rose.
{Ed001's Note - neither of those examples are true, both Pep and Arteta have full control of recruitment.}
5.) 21 Dec 2023 19:40:32
Thought so Ed1. What’s the recruitment agreement at Liverpool with Klopp?
{Ed001's Note - he has final say.}
14 Mar 2023 18:08:56
Dennis also I guess before Ayew. Though, as I say, none of those replacements have pulled any trees up this season . ?.
13 Mar 2023 20:49:49
I have been trying in my own mind to list the players in the squad who, if all fully fit, would form the spine of the team and are essential and nailed on for the best starting 11. I've come up with Navas/ Hendo, Aurier (? ) Felipe, Boly, Lodi, Yates, MGW, Anoniyi and Johnno. So counting the goalkeepers as one because they are equally good imo, of those 9, Boly, Anoniyi and probably Johnno are unavailable ie a third of the first choice players. Anybody disagree with that list and assessment?
1.) 14 Mar 2023 17:07:49
Just 2 to find for midfield then Stokey. Which is a big talking point atm, I'd like at least one of the Brazilians in there.
2.) 14 Mar 2023 18:06:31
MV mate, I’d probably go with a Christmas tree 4321 with the players available. So same back 5 as per last game ( can’t see SC risking Niakhate for Worrall to start), then Yates, Shelvey and Danilo, the MGW and Scarpa just behind Surridge. If Johnno is available, then he replaces Scarpa at least to start. Depends on his fitness state. Still leaves Williams and Niakhate defensive cover, Colback Freuler in midfield, and Ayew, Lingard etc. As you can see, beyond the core players, we are very thin on the ground in terms of quality.
3.) 14 Mar 2023 19:08:46
It’s a right mess Stokey. Along with the injuries to decent players we only have dross to replace them. Things ain’t working, we are slipping nearer the relegation places but “in Cooper we trust” refuses to change formation or playing staff. Leaving creative match winners like Scarpa and Surridge benched or not even in the squad. And I’m not having that tripe about Scarpa not being ready yet, he didn’t win the golden ball in the top league in Brazil for being “not ready”. But keep on picking the same crap with the same formation, park the bus but still leak goals and see where that gets us. But my guess is that Eeyore, Lingard and Freuler will start against the Toon.
4.) 15 Mar 2023 09:57:00
We now know why Scarpa hasn't been in the squad. He's struggling to afford a new head band atm.
5.) 27 Mar 2023 05:43:23
Probably leaves him out because he doesn't pass backwards enough can't have anyone attacking just don't suit forest style of play lol.
15 Feb 2023 20:40:01
It's looks like Boly out for 3 months and McKenna 2 months according to John Percy at the Telegraph. Not good at all.

Well if you look at my previous posts it's panned out roughly as I thought. Guilty plea with mitigation. I thought 3 to 5 points with the possibility of the punishment being suspended.
I think we have been double crossed by the Premier League to some extent and on appeal we will have our honesty and co operation better rewarded with 2 more points off. We deserve some punishment because the big man ignored the warnings issued by our Financial Director ( and presumably Mr Randall) of the impending breach. However this is offset by the inherent unfairness of the Premier League system which only allows £60 million loss over 3 seasons ( 2, of them in the Championship for us) for newly promoted teams not in receipt of parachute payments like us. Unlike the rest of the League which is allowed £105 million ( including Everton).
Our breach was £35 million, more than covered by Brennans sale £48 million.
I think even if the appeal fails we could go to the Court of Arbitration in Sport and get it scrubbed altogether ( but by then we'll be ensconced in the Championship).
Of course, the bottom line is that if we start stringing a few good results together the legal shenanigans become totally irrelevant.
I'm optimistic. I think our run in is much easier than Luton's and their thin squad is getting thinner with injuries etc. Plus Evertons breach is still pending.
If I were Mr Nuno I'd get the squad together and create a siege mentality, tell them the above facts and use the circumstances as a motivator! Coyr!
1.) 18 Mar 2024 18:58:43
Stokey pity we haven’t got a home game Saturday, while emotions are still running high, don’t think palace would have fancied it too much.
2.) 18 Mar 2024 19:26:10
Need to get the same atmosphere as last season for last few games make it a fortress again
Really believe lack of noise this season has impact on home games and ultimately cost us points
Shocking at times particularly the cup games.
3.) 18 Mar 2024 21:50:34
Read alan pardews take on forest and Everton
He's spot on.
17 Mar 2024 20:45:05
Good evening fellow Reds, just a couple of comments on the Luton game.
First of all, a very old fashioned Edwardian Stadium with a very modern turbo charged and rabid set of fans. I found I couldn't see anything of the ball due to the low stand roof when the ball was in the air. I completely lost sight of Murillos effort from his own half and could only follow it by their goal keepers back pedalling until it dropped into my field of vision when he tipped it over.
Secondly, ( and I'll get my tin hat on here) I don't go along with the general gloom and despondency on here. Sure, it was a frustrating loss of 2 points but I can't go along with blaming Nunos subs in the circumstances. We were comfortable but they were dominating before the subs were made. People think 3 centre backs is a defensive measure but in fact it can be used offensively as a platform to attack or counter attack freeing up wingbacks for example. I think it was changed because of the expected aerial barrage. Just unlucky with the goal. The coach would have expected his big lads like Boly, Sanghere, Yeats, Felipe, Sels etc to be able to defend a corner. Felipe just lost track of the cross and ended up losing his man for the header which caused all the chaos in our box leading to their equaliser.
Lastly, I think Sanghere ( and Yeats) did very well, especially considering Sangheres injury lay off. They got through a lot of destructive work and, apart from the first 15 mins got on top and contained Barclay and Doughty very well. Incidentally, Sanghere is routinely berated for costing us £32 million, Barclay would probably sell for double that atm now he's put his demons behind him. A class act.
Of course, we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow but we should remain n optimistic. 5 out of our last 9 games are at home and our run in is much much easier than Luton's, who's thin squad is running out off numbers with injuries mounting. Plus Everton have some pain to come
Plus, we actually had a VAR decision go for us yesterday and a ref who actually looked at it!
????????????. Is our luck changing at last?
1.) 17 Mar 2024 21:58:26
I'm going to get you in trouble now stokey great post mate.
2.) 17 Mar 2024 22:11:26
We started badly first 15 mins and allowed barkley 3 attempts at goal
Then we took charge and got a goal
Weveere in charge till 80 minutes
Then it was decided to shut up. shop and invite trouble
Watched the whole game.
3.) 17 Mar 2024 23:02:56
The only main player we had to mark 79, barkley couldn't bank on anyone doing it. Ok pun there but it's not just the defence it's the pathetic attacking, from midfield onwards. No heart. Actually I'd give mgw it. But for some reason he ain't got to pair.
4.) 17 Mar 2024 23:10:01
Just trying to put myself in Nunos shoes. One nil up, 20 to go, Woody not fully fit due to long injury lay off, what subs, if any should I make? …
Dominquez for MGW who’s given it all and looks like he’s running through tackle? A like for like substitution except Dominquez is full of energy. Reasonable change
CHO for Origi, like for like against a tiring defence who got the runaround second half v Bournemouth on Wednesday whilst we were putting our feet up? Reasonable change
Woody for 18 year old Ribeiro? Or would we put the veteran Felipe on to meet the increasingly desperate and expected aerial assault, weather the storm and hit them on the break to apply the coup de grace?
Reasonable change, just unlucky.
But it’s why Prem coaches get paid the big bucks my friends. You pays your money and takes your choice. On another day it works, on Saturday it didn’t.
Was it Napoleon who said he’d rather have a lucky General than a good one?
5.) 18 Mar 2024 10:11:43
You can play with extra midfielders stokey and press higher up the pitch
By bringing on fillipe we invited trouble to our own area and when you give fouls away around the area its only a matter of time
That change to three defenders cost the game and put us under pressure.
6.) 18 Mar 2024 10:42:31
Thanks for your view StokeyRed, never been to Luton, but don't you have to go threw someone's back garden to get to your seat?.
There was no surprises how they was going to play, they will play the same in there next game, I thought we ran out of ideas and energy in last ten minutes, also Woods going down with no one near him, it's happened before with our players, is it the training?.
7.) 18 Mar 2024 11:55:19
DTP mate, I completely respect your point of view on the subs and you could well be entirely right. Guess we’ll never know.
I was just trying to put myself neutrally in the shoes of Nuno ( an orthodox defensive coach and protege of Jose Morinho) and work out why he took the decisions he took. It could have worked but as Cloughie said it only takes a second to score a goal and that’s what happened.
Once in a generation an UN orthodox genius of a coach appears and makes apparently unorthodox decisions. The romantic side of me thinks Cloughie would have kept the same system brought Ribeiro on for Wood, straight swap, with the instruction “ Look, young man, we are one nil up with 20 minutes to go. Get on there and make a bloody nuisance of yourself “
??.
16 Mar 2024 10:36:16
Like Bon Jovi.
Half way there ( to Luton) and livin on a prayer
But take my hand, we ll make it I swear.
Not had this feeling since the play offs. It's as big a game as any since then. Part of me wishes SC was still in charge, he exuded calm on the big occasions. But in Nuno we trust!
Coyr! ???????
We need a bit of luck and a team selection that includes a bit of experience, especially at the back.
1.) 16 Mar 2024 11:56:47
. and a unbent Ref!
2.) 16 Mar 2024 12:43:15
Hope you’re Halfway to Paradise! Stokey.
CARLO.
14 Mar 2024 09:31:39
If we win on Saturday ( and it's a big IF I know) the safety margin will exceed what it was when SC was removed for the first time. So, 6 points as opposed to 5 points.
Of course, we had a points deduction possibly to come but that's the fault of the hierarchy not the coach. ?.
1.) 14 Mar 2024 09:52:41
It's not the hierarchy that picked niakhate to play as a left back or origi as a winger stokey mate
Just saying.
2.) 14 Mar 2024 11:24:48
Just stating a statistic DTP mate. It would be a “Das Boat” moment though ie “not yet Tommie, not yet”.! ?. Saturday evening I’ll either be humming the tune of the Great Escape or Status Quo “Down down deeper and down” ??.
3.) 14 Mar 2024 13:20:39
What about the Four Tops “It’s the same old song!
CARLO.
4.) 14 Mar 2024 14:22:58
We need a win Saturday and a win against Palace and Fulham at home
Or at least seven points from those three games.
14 Mar 2024 08:55:01
Well, did anybody enjoy our brief visit into the bottom 3 last night? No, me neither. Hopefully that will be a wake up call. Is it the first time this season we've been in a relegation spot? ?.
1.) 14 Mar 2024 17:16:18
It won't be the last.
17 Mar 2024 14:14:13
Where did you hear this Munmad mate?
12 Mar 2024 09:02:46
Sharkey, that’s true mate! ???.

Ed 1 Your wise words are as pearls cast before swine………. ??????.
{Ed001's Note - hahahaha great comeback Stokey.}
11 Mar 2024 14:45:51
Ed I’ve always subscribed to the idea that it’s best to have friends in low places! ??.
{Ed001's Note - why do you think I talk to you lot? Just kidding but we don't have a Sheff Utd, Burnley or Luton site....}
11 Mar 2024 12:45:59
Carlo, I’m reminded of T. S. Eliots line in “Preludes” mate
“Short square fingers stuffing pipes,
And evening newspapers, and eyes
ASSURED OF CERTAIN CERTAINTIES
The conscience of a blackened street
Impatient to assume the world. ”
How certain are you my friend? Worth a bet? Just asking for a friend……. ????.

18 Mar 2024 11:40:10
Munmad, I thought Sanghere and Yates bottled up their attacking threat pretty effectively after the first 15 minutes, worked hard and shackled Barclay. They won the midfield battle.
Now that Barclay appears to have overcome his personal demons he’s probably worth at least twice the £30 million we paid for Sanghere ( whos probably still a bit rusty coming back from his AFCON injury).
