Well we gave em a game.
Tremendous all round performance
Wily Boly and Aina the stand outs for me.
Sels made at least two cracking saves.
We created really good chances and had City scrambling in defence quite a few times.
It says something when we come away knowing we should have had at least a draw.
Just a thought, would Hudson Odoi be better on the right wing? The times he gets by his man then checks inside. You might lose his goal threat from the right but the amount of crosses would be worth it I think.
It's frustrating when we're not consistent but I honestly think we have the makings of a decent team there. Maybe it's down to the youth and lack of experience in the team.
Keep the faith my fellow Reds
And remember it's Forest we're talking about.
When has it ever been easy ?.

I've thought that on few a occasions, Carey, regarding Hudson-Odoi He's easy to defend against just show him outside. Cutting back on his right foot gives the defender time to get back. Against Everton he was found out. He was a steal from Chelsea.

2.) 29 Apr 2024 08:47:21
Red I think Odoi has a wand of a right foot and may become a revelation on the right.
He can take people on, has great balance but on the left his right foot is wasted most of the time.
Get by your man and cross it.
Trouble is I’ve been spoilt by a magician called
John Robertson. Overweight, no pace but could he play and he usually ended up having two or three to mark him!

3.) 29 Apr 2024 12:31:34
Agree Carey, CHO definitely on the right. Need crosses in from there. Neco can't cross his laces let alone a ball.

It's been a while but I'm out of hibernation.
New username (you know the drill)
Can anyone remember the 1978 world cup in Argentina? The passion and the colourful support of the fans I was amazed by it.
I have always dreamt of such an atmosphere at the City Ground but I never expect it to happen.
Well it did and wasn't it awesome.
No matter what happens at the end of this season they can't take that away.
And I'll never forget it.

Yes I do mate it was my first World Cup where I could understand what was going on, I supported Scotland as I had heard of dalgliesh, gem mill etc, I remember them doing Holland but also the shock of them losing to Peru, the big thing at the time for me as a child was the excitement of collecting panini stickers and trying to fill an album, all the kids on our street were doing it, great times growing up in Eastwood.

2.) 27 Apr 2024 07:56:49
I was just starting to understand football too, and the World Cup was like a wonderful awakening. however I heard that Scottish World Cup song so many times, I honestly thought they only had go over and pick the bloody thing up and come home again!
82 World Cup was amazing too. my first "Awakening" to the fairer sex. my first girlfriend, over 40 years later, and I still think of her from time to time, she was a combination of Steffi Graff, and Jennifer Anniston. (You get the picture) couldn't believe my luck.
Wonderful times, wish I could just go back there for one day. ?.

3.) 27 Apr 2024 08:45:46
Does anyone remember Peter Shilton riding around in helicopters opening Barrats housing estates, he did one in Eastwood (woodland way estate) we all rode up there on our bikes and waited for shilts to land Proper excitement that in them days! As I understand it he was abit of a character off the field, women and liked a flutter?

4.) 27 Apr 2024 10:04:21

It’s good to reminisce! I love thinking about the old days. It was only last week I posted about how our badge brings emotional feelings to me when I look at it. Great days all those years ago. Used to live for football. School got in the way, but even there you could play 3 times a day! Never had much money as a family, my mum and step dad both worked in a factory ( now Hooters ?) but I had a really happy childhood and felt very lucky. My grandad brought me the yellow away top for my tenth birthday, and it was, and still is, the greatest gift I’ve ever received! I would just look at it on wonder! Sorry for the ramble! All I can say is, no matter what, the PL, Mr M, VAR or anyone else can take that away from me, and all others who feel the same! You can’t buy these feelings!

Enjoyed the replies fellow Reds. Some special memories relived.
I’ve so many myself but the City Ground atmosphere over the previous few seasons really was magic.
Hope we can get it back ?
Starting today.
You Reds.

Just a few observations
1 / they always shoot the messenger
2/ The top premier league teams were secretly planning to break away, which would have seriously impacted the money coming in to the remnants of the league. No punishments handed out as far as I know.
3/ FA guidelines state that referees have to declare conflicts of interest when officiating in a particular game. Did Atwell declare any and if so who allowed him to carry on?
4/ why do full backs give wingers so much space in the modern game?
5/ why don't we have players on the posts for corners?
6/ why are players read War and Peace when they're preparing to come on as subs?
7/ why is a Derby fan in charge of the club's official tweets when trying to justify the clubs season card waiting list and season card pricing policy amid the genuine concern that some long term loyal fans will find it financially difficult to carry on? Are they deliberately winding people up?
8/ why is Gary Neville a dick?
9/ why did Souness on Talk Sport say refs aren't biased then go on to say they do favour the big clubs and that it takes a brave ref to give a pen at the Kop end against Liverpool?
10 / and the last one. The FA cup has been decimated again for benefit of the top clubs playing in Europe. No big nights at Old Trafford or The Emirates etc, as a reward for holding one of the so called giants to a replay.
Greed is ruining this game.
Ah feeling a lot better now with that lot off me chest.
Right, bring on City and let's give em a bloody good tabbing.
They've probably spent more on bloody lawyers in trying to dodge having 115 charges looked at, than we've spent on players.
Happy days.

Said from day one let the big so called 6 clubs go and make more money for Sky sports and less money for grass roots Gary Neville is a limp dick and there's a few more with him they are beholding to their pay master's from Shearer down disappointed in Keane and Pearce my heroes also but money talk's. Having a moan I know. ps hope we finish strong if it keeps us up great.

2.) 26 Apr 2024 23:42:14
Spot on Jester!

3.) 27 Apr 2024 10:45:18
Pundits jumping on the bandwagon, some we just know will but ex aReds Keane Pearce Collymore joining saying the club have no class, where is their class, all three lost my respect.
If you can’t say nothing about a club that made you, shut up and use your brain.
CARLO.

It’s in the FA guidelines Stokey
Declaring a conflict of interest.
However these don’t apply to Forest matches apparently.
I’ve also read a great article on the charges concerning Man City. The fact that the problem has been ongoing for several years and the fact they have avoided any hearing up to now is, to me, more evidence of corruption.
The irony of City fans chanting you cheating b……s on Sunday would be funny if it wasn’t serious.
It feels we’re unwanted.
They love to shoot the messenger for saying some
Inconvenient truths.
I do hope we’re still in the Prem next season
And Forza put up a massive two fingered display in the Trent End.
