Wow, the West Brom player who scored on opening day at Norwich, by using his arm to put the ball in the net, is banned for two games! Well done EFL! But why are WBA questioning this when it was deliberate cheating by the player? We have VAR that supported Forest at United last season - but the ref chose to allow the goal despite the obvious handball.
Has that ref been banned?

Less than 48 hrs to go. The excitement is building. Leeds at home should be 3 pts. They have a bad record at the WFCG.
Hope he plays Williams as a RWB and Netz as LWB oh their natural sides as they will deliver better balls in that way.
Sangare and Schlager as 6 and 8 with MGW and Ndoye and McAtee as the two 10βs.
20 Aug 2026 19:13:41
Ndoye or McAtee. π
20 Aug 2026 19:49:54
I have a good feeling this season, I think we'll finish top of the bottom twelve clubs. π³
20 Aug 2026 21:26:00
They are both RWBs naturally.
20 Aug 2026 21:58:21
I'm getting quite anxious to be fair.
20 Aug 2026 22:18:58
Cyclist Luca Metz is left footed, not right.
20 Aug 2026 17:52:07
Forest should put a bid in for Lionel Messi, to play one season in the Premier League. I think this might be a great ruse by the Reds, to see if Leeds, Everton, Newcastle and Crystal Pal put bids in as well! They all seem to want every player Forest look at. π π€£ π
20 Aug 2026 12:57:44
Can anyone tell me why we are looking at Dodo, a right wing back when we have Aina, Williams, and Moreira? Surely a striker and/or Ando replacement in midfield are priority?
20 Aug 2026 13:45:42
According to reports, Glasner would run with the strikers we have if the strikers we want aren't available for a reasonable fee.
Williams and Aina can both play on the left too, so it's just an additional WB. WBs can't play 100 mins each game, so you need 4 fit all season.
That means we need more than 4 to cover injuries.
Netz.
Williams.
Aina (injury prone).
Eric Da Silva Moreira.
New WB.
Cover: Murillo, Ndoye.
May be in squad:
Savona.
Comes back Xmas:
Caiubano.
Still think we don't need a WB? I beg to differ.
20 Aug 2026 13:47:04
They are looking at MFs as well. Just because they are trying to sign a WB, doesn't mean they aren't after a MF. We do have as many as last season though.
20 Aug 2026 13:52:50
Every season, it feels like people think we can sign players and have a bogger squad. We can't. If we sign a mf, who goes?
20 Aug 2026 15:28:04
Well, that's my point, Cyclist. You've named 8 players that could do the job in the squad. How many do we need, mate?
Surely a midfielder to replace Ando (unless he's going with Yates, Schlager or Dominquez to play alongside Sanghere?) and a striker (again, unless he's going to risk the aging Wood, or the diminutive Jesus, now that Taiwos gone).
I mean, we aren't Manchester (moneybags) City, are we?
20 Aug 2026 15:29:48
Dodo will be a cheap back up wing back with lots of speed for either side of the pitch. Strength in depth. We will still get a midfielder and striker, but M is holding out in negotiations till the last minute.
20 Aug 2026 17:21:54
It's never one-sided with brinkmanship. We're offering a certain amount, and they are asking for a lot. If they really want to sell, they will cave in when they realise nobody is paying stupid money for Delap or whoever it is.
20 Aug 2026 17:25:11
Nuno thought we needed wing backs, Ange did, Dyche did and so does Glasner. I agree we need at least one more specialist wing back with a system that burns through them like this one. If Aina stayed fit for more than 10 games at a time I might think differently.
They are looking at MFs and a striker if we can get better than we have without paying ridiculous fees. Not sure what is worrying you, Stokey, apart from standard "why can't we sign players early even though we'd have to pay Β£20M more..."
20 Aug 2026 18:31:02
I'm never worried, Cyclist, when it's not my money, mate! πππ In Glasner we trust...
Looking forward to Saturday COYR!
20 Aug 2026 20:32:50
My prediction is that we won't pay much over Β£30M for Delap. That's what they paid, and he scored 2 goals last season. Β£50-60M is a joke. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than get ripped off like that!
20 Aug 2026 12:15:45
On Dodo:
Nottingham Forest offer β¬10m + bonuses, agree deal with La Viola.
Glasnerβs side negotiating salary with Dodo.
Confidence of English club reaching total agreement.
20 Aug 2026 14:26:22
I thought that deal was as dead as his namesake. Sorry, couldn't resist. Linking up with his old teammate, the Serbinater, he definitely put a good word in with this deal. π³

The BBC's chief football writer Phil
McNulty had predicted an eighth-placed finish for Forest this season, with the newly promoted clubs to go down. Arsenal Champions, then Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd 5th.
Mind you, they predicted Liverpool to retain the Premier Trophy last season until
They imploded under Slot.
Personally Iβd be happy with 8th as a solid basis for a period of stability manager-wise.
Thoughts?
19 Aug 2026 12:38:24
Top 6 for Forest.
19 Aug 2026 12:43:07
I'll only be completely happy with Champions League.
Let's get ambitious and confident!!!
COYR!
19 Aug 2026 13:06:38
Sadly, I think Mr M will agree with you, Cyclist. If we donβt make European competition in some form, then OG will be sacked, and the merry-go-round starts again.
Mr M's major fault is that he tries to build a house with a foundation, and is repeatedly surprised when it falls down, mate.
Personally, (and this is obviously pure speculation) I think, with the same backing as OG has had, AP would have done as well, tbh.
But we will see how it pans out. π€π€
19 Aug 2026 13:32:03
Without a foundation...
19 Aug 2026 15:00:27
After last season I'd settle for mid table, with a European place via a cup win. The club needs a period of stability after 2025/26, and a team-building exercise.
Look for younger, hungry players with talent to take the club forward.
We have a great manager. Now let's get a great team.
I'd love to see Forest go unbeaten at home, and make it a horrible away day. Plus wins away at Anfield (again), Old Trafford, The Etihad, The Spurs shot hole, St James Park, etc.
COYR.
19 Aug 2026 16:50:35
Bang on, Keeff. Mid table and a good cup run would be happy.
19 Aug 2026 17:12:17
I'm surprised, Skeggs???
After you heaping praise on him, mate???
I thought you'd be expecting Top Four???
Mid table for me.
19 Aug 2026 17:26:49
I praised Nuno. How did that go, Europe? π Some praised Cooper and Dyche in the Premier League. How did that go? Mid table, good cup run first season, then onwards and upwards. Rogie living the Glasner Mr M dream. π
19 Aug 2026 18:06:37
1 and 4.
Glasner dream and DDS. π΄π΄π΄π΄ππ
19 Aug 2026 18:17:35
To be fair, I agree with your realistic season target... revised downward a bit, though it is from your previous posts.
19 Aug 2026 18:53:15
It might seem a daft thing to say, but it depends on what sort of mid-table position we are in, points-wise, with, say, 5 games to go.
If we are 10 points behind any Europa spot, for example, then forget it. If we are mid-table but 3 or 4 points behind, then it would only take a spawny win or a few late draws to be challenging. A lot depends on a couple of target signings achieved in this window, then no injuries to key players, no daft VAR decisions, etc.
etc.
Iβd go along roughly with the BBCβs projected 8th ish, but hope to be proved wrong. Achieve safety, then see where we are with the variables.
Mel Brookes said, when someone asked him if he wanted anything special organising for his funeral, "I don't know. Surprise me". πππππ

Equals 5 would you like me to forget about you and Dyche being great manager for forest why your saying I know nothing about football. π
19 Aug 2026 19:52:46
Skeggs, I can't make head nor tail
of that post, mate. Punctuation, syntax, everything's gone to pot.
SD was 2 managers and 6 months ago. We are never going to agree, and it's definitely become an unhealthy obsession for you.
Let's just agree to disagree and move on, eh?
I have...
I did agree with your assessment of the season to come, to be fair.
19 Aug 2026 20:31:57
Me neither!
π€
19 Aug 2026 20:56:18
I think they should get a room, give all our eyes a rest from the same old, same old. π³
19 Aug 2026 19:45:25
You lot have low standards and low expectations. Nuno had a flukey season with no injuries. Glasner has a better squad and is a better boss. Mid-table would be acceptable, but I wouldn't be happy with that, and I don't think the Big Man will either.
19 Aug 2026 20:13:10
That's brilliant stokie like I said the other day to you let's move on.and just to let you know I have never used punctuation marks thats the good old eds putting them in for me.so yes let's move on
19 Aug 2026 23:37:22
Bottom 5.
20 Aug 2026 00:31:29
Cooper did well with the resources he had. Taiwo was our main man, don't forget. But the club have moved on and are at another level with this squad. No point comparing apples to oranges. We'll never know whether Cooper would do well with this squad or whatever.
20 Aug 2026 10:45:12
Fair enough Skeggs, punctuation isn't all it's cracked up to be. My Dad left school at 15, got a job at Raleigh, trained as a welder and (apart from 2 years National Service in the RAMC) worked there all his life. He couldn't put 2 words together on paper and never 'caught up'. However, he's still by far the finest man I've ever known. He could make or fix anything, and had the good sense to marry my Mum, who was (and is aged 92) as bright as a button and did all his Union and Raleigh paperwork for him.
One of my biggest treats ever was a visit to the City of Birmingham Art Gallery to see the actual original manuscript of 'On the Road' by Jack Kerouac. It was about 30 or 40 yards long, displayed in long glass display cases running the length of a big room. It consisted of pages taped together by him, and dense typing with not a punctuation mark in sight.
He typed solidly for 3 weeks, with virtually no sleep, fuelled by benzadrine (amphet) and other drugs, alcohol, and strong coffee. It nearly killed him.
It was published (in the early 1960s, late 1950s I think) in the same format. A hard read (but if you go with the flow it falls into place), but brilliant. Because art is basically what it is to be human. I don't know about you, but I don't think in perfect sentences, it's all 'stream of consciousness'. Much like your posts in book form, mate. A journey across the USA by an American, written spontaneously like free form jazz music.
He wasn't the first. The Irishman James Joyce wrote 'Ulysses' in around 1918/20, large parts without punctuation. About a pub crawl, amongst other things. Now, that is a hard read... but, like I say, it does make sense eventually despite making your eyes and brain bleed.
19 Aug 2026 08:41:11
Good morning to all. I've just read an update on the Man City charges, and an apology has been given for the time it has taken so far. No specified time has been given, because the Independent Committee have so much to go through.
So it looks like Man City are getting yet another reprieve despite the multiple charges!
I personally think it will be a white wash, with no sanctions, point deductions or fines. They are one of the so called big clubs!
19 Aug 2026 10:08:34
Bakwa, hopefully on his way to Hull.
19 Aug 2026 12:09:06
He might as well go, as out-and-out wingers will be largely redundant under OG.
19 Aug 2026 15:54:39
Keefe, I read somewhere (BBC I think) that since being charged in Feb 2023 Man City have spent Β£700 million on new players (including Β£150 million this window, with incomings still pending, like the Chelsea lad (Fernandez?) Β£50 million), and in that time have won 6 major trophies.
Absolutely corrupt. I'm sure Andy Burnham's trigger finger will be twitching over the "activate football regulator" button.
19 Aug 2026 17:13:17
They know they can do what they like!
That's why, mate.
