Plenty of press talk / rumours linking us with everyone but the local postman. Still nothing happening? Are we that stuck for money? It will be a long, hard season if this is our lot player wise.

If Hughton told Neil Crictley he could have Worrall, McKenna, Lolley, Johnson, Taylor, and Grabban for a price Blackpool could afford he would snatch his hand off.

I’m not saying all the players are not good enough, I am thinking strength in depth, well short in a few places.

Trouble is with Hughton in charge, the best we would get is a draw! .

The way the team approach the game against Coventry will show how much Hughton learnt from last seasons failings, if anything.

In one game mind, iv'e followed football a lot of years matey. Would never judge from an opening game. We don't need to be judged on anything. As 2star points out its far from the manager. (Although i hate his style of football) its about the ownership and his clueless heartless approach to this great club . 😪.

B3 i'm not saying what happens in the Coventry game will define the season.

What i mean is, there were many games where the team sat too deep, even when they were in front.

Grabban as a result was either coming too deep which meant he had too much to do to try and score, or the ball would be given to Grabban via a long ball so very often he had little or no support.

If Hughton gets the team to play a slightly higher line so the forward players are closer together and work for each other it will show he has learnt something from last season.

Trying not to concede at all costs, and inviting teams on you for sustained periods will not often work in the Championship.

Off course the owner and those that run the club on a day to day basis have made many mistakes and need to take a good look at themselves.

The manager though can not be given a pass for all the failings of the team as he was in the job for a lengthy period and there was little to no gains in either performance or points once the players that signed in Jan had had time to bed in.

Mind i like your reply mate. But why do you and others put grabban down to his service, he like taylor were sh#te full stop. I not making any excuses for them both because they really were dire. Missing so many chances as for Taylor never made any chances. If you can't see that mate then you need to look at the forwards who went up last season. Tbh we were sh#te in every area. Again without the kid from Manchester we would have been fkd. let's not sit on here and kid ourselves its going to be different. Because unless hughton plays them and they prove good we really are in the sh#te my friend. Just my opinion and i really do apologise for negativity.

Daz mate I’d sign the postman if he was Neil Webb! 😃😃.

Bowie, I agree with your assessment of those strikers chances were scarce but far more than goals for reflected .

B3 Grabban without a doubt had a bad season by his high standards and Taylor did not score enough goals either but the better the service is the more chances are made, the more chances are made the the team is likely to score.

Goal scorers work on confidence, if they fall out with the manager, or any team mates be it over money, ego, being played when their form does not deserve it, or being played out of position it kills team unity.
