I don't want to be flogging a dead horse here ( and I'm not a Wolves or Bournemouth fan, though I will be an honorary yam yam on Saturday) but is anybody else scratching their heads after Atwell s performance last night? Particularly as he awards a Wolves goal then gets advised by VAR to have a look at a foul by a Wolves player in the build up ( which he does and overturns it). So why weren't we awarded the same courtesy by Atwell on VAR when our ref rules that the Everton defender had played the ball for our denied penalty on Reyna? All it takes is a quick " You might want to have a look at this one again mate on the monitor". If he had it was a penalty. The recurring problem we have is that we don't get as far as a VAR review ever. Last night Everton had a penalty overturned because of a clear offside. It took 2 minutes to VAR it! Probably because it was one of the top 6 again. Grrrrrr!
As far as the ludicrous "minimal contact " nonsense being spouted by idiotic pundits it reminds me of the infamous comment by a ( white) American athletics coach that Jesse Owen hadn't been selected for the USA team because he was only one tenth of a second faster than the white sprinter who was selected! Again Grrrrrr! ???.

Trouble is Stokey it's minimal contact when it's anyone outside the big clubs. When it's the " rest of us " it's still classed as minimal contact but they tag the phrase " yes it's minimal contact but a penalty is a penalty. I remember Danny Murphy saying when Danilo gave a penalty away against Rashford. Murphy and his cronies said minimal contact but still a penalty. After Rashford hit the deck like he'd been smashed in the face with a sledgehammer.
