Great news for our optimistic fanbase. The deals we are trying to do are not easy and taking time. That means we are going for good players who cost a lot and clubs want the best price for. And our owners are trying to avoid putting the club into financial difficulty.

Win, win!

We could bottom feed, go for players nobody else wants and do quick deals instead. Would that make people happy?

Good morning Sports fans, and all new Thesbians!

Well, Forest v Leeds an opening day could be a hard game, judging by the Leeds come back against Giropool! It was damage done by set pieces, and we all know how good Forest are with set piece defending!

So let's have a positive week, with renewed interest in culture.

Let's face it, Stokey explained where the word Thesbian came from, and we see it a lot on the football pitch these days! So does this mean footballers are Thesbians? Lots of play acting!

Let's have these signings done, Forest. Let's build a team for the tp half of the table!

I fear a drubbing. We have a settled team in many ways, but lots of weaknesses, some unfit and still injured, and any new players at the last minute are likely to be a bit lost. I'm not at all optimistic.

If we allow Chelsea to rip us off for Delap, he's already used to this league. They want to make £10M profit on a player who only scored 2 goals in 42 appearances, though (they paid £30M and want £40M), so I think they're having a laugh.

Curtis Jones and Bergvall are already Prem ready if we sign one of them. Schlager already knows how OG likes to play, so should hit the ground running, and he speaks English.

Jesus looks decent in one of the 10 positions. McAtee started to play better at the end of last season. We still have most of the key players from when we came 7th, although Wood won't be able to play that many games.

Kalimuendo looks suited to a dual number 10 setup as well.

It looks better than you think. Clubs are asking for silly money, and waiting to see who is willing to pay over the odds for players. It's just the way the market works. Every summer, I hear the same - fans desperate for news on signings that take time, as clubs and players wait for the best deal.

If it was easy, Marinakis would just sign 5 players before the World Cup and put his feet up for the summer.

If OG wants to sign a mobile, strong, out-and-out number 9, they might need a few quid more, so wouldn't be surprised if one of the forwards is leaving. Taiwo as a number 9 suits OG's system better and seems happy to play backup until he gets his UK residency.

That’s an easy one Ripley o was lucky enough to be able to study GRC as part of my English Literature degree at St David’s University College, Lampeter ( part of the University of Wales) GRC being Greek and Roman Civilisation
Thespis was an Ancient Greek playwright, poet and actor in the 6th century BC. Only a few fragments of his work survives.

Before Thespis, a story would be told or sung in its entirety by a group of people reading together ( the chorus). Our man was the first, according to Ancient writers, to step out from the chorus and act individual parts. To help him he wore different masks to represent original characters in the story.


You still see the mask symbol in Theatres today. There’s one above the stage at the Theatre Royal. today,
As Herodotus is known as the Father of History ( because he was the first to write it down and research it ( rather than mere hearsay ) so Thespis was the Father of Acting, drama and tragedy,

If you get the chance visit the ancient theatre at Taormina or one I went to a few werr et la ago at Ephesus in Turkey.
In both cases the 2000 year old acoustics are good enough for bands and actors to perform today without amplifying and sound systems.
It was a big thing for the Ancients mate!

What’s not to like about Dylan Thomas Bse. Whenever we go to Larne my wife and I make a point of putting flowers on his grave ( and Caitlin’s next to his) and raise a glass at Browns Pub. Also been to his writing hut and obviously New Quay was just up the road from Lampeter.

Beautiful.
We stayed at the film location for Under Milk Wood at Captain Cats house in Pembroke ( heavily modified to look like a ship in the film starring Richard Burton). Nearly lost the car to an unexpected high tide too….😂😂😂

It would appear that we have thesbians amongst our ranks, that's Thesbians, for the ungodly hears! Yes, Shakespeare had some wonderful words of wisdom to share, like 'lend me your ears' - obviously before earing aids! 'To be or not to be' seems to reflect the recruitment policy at the WFCG at the moment!

I do remember however, that Forest like to keep recruitment quiet, not wanting the plans revealed.

Then 4/5 signings in a matter of days! I do hope this is what's happening, and not because of indecisive thinking!

Marinakis has appointed a great coach, but Glasner needs his stamp and players.
Show the intent, don't scrimp, otherwise expect a tough season again.

Red in Ripley, you seem to have it in for Marinakis; every other post you're slating him. You remind me of an old poster a couple of seasons back. I can't think of the poster's name yet. 🤔 But I will. Mr M has moved this club on massively. I had many things to say about him when he got rid of Nuno, but that was because he didn't upgrade to a better manager.

Now we have probably one of the best in the Premier League. He got him here, that will do me. But, for some reason, you're not happy with anything he does. Like I say, reminds me of a poster from the past.

We're in talks for Diamonde and Read, which have so far taken weeks.
Diamonde was supposed to be done and dusted over a week ago. Read was all but done.
The downside of Forest is their failure to get deals over the line with low-ball prices.
This happens each year.
In essence, Forest are like tyre-kickers.
They engage in discussions and negotiations, pose inquiries, and subsequently anticipate a significantly reduced price.


All the effort and time, with little result, then turns into a panic buy situation.
We're more than happy to purchase a player for his Greek team, the purse strings widen when suited.
You are welcome to express skepticism regarding my assertion that Forest will achieve a higher league position this season compared to the previous one.
We have a coach who can take us to the next level.
Back him and success will come.
Appease him at all costs.

Sporting are difficult negotiators. They will hold out to every last penny for Diamonde. And as for Read, Inter pulled out of buying him because he didn't pass a full medical. So maybe there's something in that. Nobody at the club, including Glasner, seems to be panicking.

So why are you? There's still weeks of the window to go, and, as I've said many times, we've managed to keep most of our top talent and extend their contracts, a big plus for me. Well done, Mr M, for that.

It’s an interesting theory Bse and holds some water. But in both the 1sy and 2nd Quartos the punctuation suggests a pause or at least a musing stop before “That”.
But we know so little about Shakespeare anyway. However the vast difference between the rough and the polished versions do show a consistency of punctuation and rhythm of speech important for an actor,.
