That’s a reasonable statement off the cuff from Dyche Red Robin. “ Killer edge” translates as “we desperately need a striker”, “protecting players who have played a lot of football” is diplomatic language for “ we’ve got a more important game on Sunday and I don’t have the quality in depth available to me to attack on 2 fronts because of the recruitment hand I’ve been dealt” and “ weird “ ok, fair enough.
I’d have used a different word perhaps “ difficult”?
You have to read between the lines mate. Especially when you remember what happened to Nuno. It’s a bit trickier than football manager ….

I just think Dyche is our best bet for survival this season and a foundation for the future. Also that 3 months ( and on your recommendation )4 managers in a season is not conducive to stability or progress and just kicks the can down the road.
I’m just glad you and the knee jerk sack ‘em squad weren’t around when Cloughie was first appointed.

Stokey "werid situation" what's werid about playing in more than one competition and having a squad that needs rotation? that's the one bit that got me and i took from all the excuses he was dribbling. He needs to fall on his sword and leave if we lose on Sunday, its as simple as that for me. ?.

Stokey cloughie had a record of success to fall back on, winning a league title, semi finals of a European cup, promotion, , and was still young for a football manager, he had credit in the football bank, people believed in him, this bloke is a product of a past age, one dimensional long ball, down the channels crap, he’s a warnock, an alladyce, I’m sure he wasn’t appointed just to save us from relegation, with a squad that’ cost a fortune to put together.
More is expected, but don't worry we’ve got a 6’8” striker coming in, I think that’s a subtle clue as to what we’re in for.

While Clough and his success are important parts of football history, simply relishing past achievements is not enough. The game itself has evolved significantly.
In my opinion for all it's worth we have a knaive yet passionate owner in Marinakis.
However, his desire for success reveals certain aspects of greed for overnight success.
Given the multiple potential sources of responsibility, it's crucial for Marinakis to take decisive action and regain control of the situation or the Forest ship will continue listing until it sinks.

But don’t you also think that SD has credit in the bank for his achievements in keeping minnows Burnley in the Prem for the best part of a decade? Or keeping cash strapped Everton up with a FFP deduction? I know it’s not directly comparable to BC winning a title etc but with the scant resources he had to work with in both cases, surely some credit in the bank?
Cloughie had his disasters too.
didn't his Brighton lose by 8 goals to somebody? And knocked out of a Cup by some non league team?

Stokey no because Derby were minnows ( still are?) and he won a league against all odds and got them to the semi finals of the European cup, not long after getting promoted, playing stylish football, dyche is a fire fighter, as you pointed out at Everton, and kept a small club like Burnley up for a number of years, playing a ‘ style’ he is synonymous with throughout football, that type of game is old hat now, his appointment always came with a pretty low ceiling, I was surprised when the “ worldwide “search “for the new coach ended 50 yards outside the club car park,
