I ve posted on here before that our owner is almost entirely to blame for our predicament regarding the points deduction. For all the good things he has done for our famous club and massive investment etc the FFP shambles is an example of irresponsible and cavalier football club owners.
It came out in evidence that Mr M deliberately ignored his Finance Director s advice that the club was heading for a breach and he over rode it.
Also, the NFST has released a statement saying that, in numerous meetings with the Forest hierarchy they were repeatedly assured that everything was under control and they would avoid FFP punishment. This is a matter of public record and indisputable.
As I concluded before, in the words of the Trojan High Priest Laocoon in Virgil's Aeniad "Never trust a Greek even when he comes bearing gifts" ( in this case the huge Trojan Horse and we know how that turned out).

Agree2 Disagree0

Great post Stokey. Love the allusion at the end. I see Mr M proudly presenting NFFC with the Golden Fleece on the Argo moored at Trent Bridge, except this time maybe it was just glitter without any honour!

Excellent Norfolk mate! ???
Thinking about it, is Mr Marinkinakos just Icarus in disguise, punished for trying to fly too high and too near the Sun?
Bowie, if you spot this post mate here’s a quiz teaser ( and for the rest of you if you’re so minded. What’s the link between Icarus and David Bowie? ???
Just as a footnote, our deduction has certainly got the pundits and media circus talking about the iniquity and in built unfairness of the Premier League, especially in relation to newly promoted teams with no parachute payments like us ( uniquely).

The labyrinth stokey, greek myth I'd imagine?

Stokey the Greek has steered us back into the top flight after nearly a quarter of a century though, the prudent late mr doughty failed time and again,

Maybe the Greek myth (ed) out on how to use a calculator Bowie!

Good point Stevie as long as the big man’s ambition doesn’t lead us straight back down again. Personally I think we be ok but it will be tight mate!

Good call Bowie, with the Labyrinth being invented by Daedalus the father of Icarus. But the more convoluted link starts with the painting “Landscape with Icarus Falling” by Bruegel the Elder, Dutch Old Master circa 1560. In 1938 the poet WH Auden visited the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels where he was living at the time where he saw the painting and was so taken with it wrote the poem “Museum des Beaux Artes” about it.
Fast forward to the 1970s where the British film director Nicholas Roeg read the poem then saw the painting and became obsessed with the myth of Icarus.
In 1976 he made his film version of the story but with a sci fi vibe and called it “The Man Who Fell to Earth” starring your man David Bowie who was also fascinated by the story as it fitted in with his alter ego Ziggy!
Although Bowie later said he couldn’t remember much about the making of the film because he was taking at least 10 ozs of cocaine daily to combat his anxiety problems!
Amazing story 400 years in the making!

Sorry Bowie, just a bad pun about out owners apparent poor maths over this!

19 Mar 2024 22:30:47
What's the point getting upset
It's not scholar, doughty or fawaz in charge
He didn't expect to be fighting a relegation fight with the players he bought in and neither did I tbh
So wasn't concerned about a possible points deduction?
