McKenna and Cook were a regular thirty yards apart and the two full backs at least twenty five yards in front of them, and that's in a flat back four. If Cardiff had picked up on it and got a pacey player to run at our centre backs it would have been much worse. Very concerned now that Worralls absence will be a bigger blow than we thought because as a back three we looked good but as a back four we looked lost. Added to that Spence and Lowe are nowhere near as effective as when they are used as wing backs. Very poor because the top six beckond, but if we can see it I am sure Coops can. He as got a lot more right than wrong and and I am sure it will be put right sharpish. U REDS.

Good analysis Retford. I’m afraid today marks a turning point in the season, not in terms of the result as we are still only 2 points off the playoffs but in the loss of our key defender Worrall and our top scorer Grabban, both captains and leaders. We have a busy and difficult February and we may have to lower our expectations a bit, dig in and try and grind out some points and keep in touch.
Fortunately we have accumulated enough points already to stay out of trouble and we may get some key signings tomorrow. If not, assuming Figs goes, we need Mighten back and Mbe Soh to step up. Also Laryea to inject some pace. We are truly struggling if Cooky is injured as well.
I think we are better with 3 centre backs definately.
