So the deal for O'brien and toffolo is off
Toffolo cudn't agree personal terms.

1.) 19 Jul 2022 13:33:38
That's a pity but why should it affect the signing of O'Brien?

2.) 19 Jul 2022 14:11:15
They still want O'Brien but will have to start the deal from scratch. I still think O'Brien will come in.

3.) 19 Jul 2022 16:40:47
The deal for both is supposed to be back on again now.

4.) 20 Jul 2022 07:16:32
Of course. ??.

06 Jul 2022 20:14:14
Niakhate signed on three year deal with a one year option looks a great signing.
Williams to follow at 16 million.

1.) 06 Jul 2022 20:58:01
Good player, by all accounts.
Getting a tad concerned re Williams as ruddy Southampton have now jumped in for him. We shall see. Hopefully the pull of playing alongside Johnno and forming a relationship for both Forest and Wales will swing it.

2.) 07 Jul 2022 02:10:52
Read today we're going to give Liverpool 16 mill taking up to 20 with add one not sure how right it is.

01 Jul 2022 20:44:05
Best signing of the window brennan Johnson on a new four year deal.
And some questioned his desire and commitment.
Top draw player who will teryfy defenders in the Premier.

07 Jun 2022 12:20:48
Samba won't sign his new contract and wants to leave this summer?
Not about money though.

1.) 07 Jun 2022 12:37:51
Looks like more than a rumour 79, apparently Lens are keen on signing him. Good keeper, but there's other good keepers no need to panic.

2.) 08 Jun 2022 17:01:20
Agent mischeif. They always tip off papers that another club want a player when they are trying to negotiate a new contract. All part of the game.

3.) 09 Jun 2022 16:00:19
Samba is currently on approx £7k a week. Lens highest paid player is currently on approx £9k per week.

If Samba or his agent think they'll get a better wage in Ligue Un than over here then good luck to them but there's zero chance.

4.) 10 Jun 2022 11:11:36

The other side of the game is the club making a show of looking at alternative players during negotiations as a message to the player/ agent. Lots of good GKs would love to play in the Prem league.

30 May 2022 15:27:20
Gareth Bale first rumoured big signing.

1.) 30 May 2022 20:27:49
Better off with "Gareth" Gates!

2.) 30 May 2022 20:33:08
Dear God not Bale please. A sick note in the twilight of his career, shining only in a mediocre Welsh team and looking for a final payoff. No thanks mate. He doesn’t fit the Murphy/ Cooper template of young hungry players with a sprinkling of good older professionals. Let’s not spaff our hard earned millions up the wall.

3.) 30 May 2022 22:48:47
He can play LB. Available on free. haha

Seriously, Bale is a superb player. We won't pay his wages, though.

4.) 31 May 2022 13:21:33
No thanks. He can take his enormous comb over elsewhere.

5.) 31 May 2022 14:32:23
Give him a 12 month contract pay as you play, he's dragged a very average Wales side to 2 or 3 major tournaments.

6.) 31 May 2022 17:36:45
No chance that dane murphy would countenance the signing of a has been on massive wages looking for a last payday. The days of signing the likes of glen murray are over at Forest.

7.) 31 May 2022 20:45:46
He's stated his next move is not about money and still a class act
Would have to be some sort of sponsorship for him as an individual to afford it though.

8.) 01 Jun 2022 00:19:32
Murray was 36/ 37. Bale (32) is a top international and proven match winner at the highest level. And the comments about him being a has-been are laughable. Doubt we can afford him, but anyone who doesn't think he would improve our team is clueless.

Our best attacking player is Johnson. Watch a Wales game with both playing, and you'll see what I mean.

Reality check people!

9.) 01 Jun 2022 22:07:44
Forest are now a team, all in it together, bring in Bale on massive wages and what does that do for team moral? Having said that there are some top golf courses in north notts so maybe that's what he's interested in, if he's interested at all, which i doubt.

10.) 02 Jun 2022 11:54:08
From those comments, I assume Oakham knows Gareth Bale personally and thinks a player who can drag Wales into contention for major international comps and be nominated for the Ballon Dor twice is not a committed one.

And Grabban was on twice what most of the Forest squad was on. Just saying.

11.) 02 Jun 2022 19:02:55
Red cyclist- just ask any Real Madrid supporter and you'll get your answer.

12.) 03 Jun 2022 22:14:02
How do I do that is it" Bale pour fur vour? "🤣🤣
Hasta not uno gud oh? 😉.

We've agreed a deal with wolves fir gibbs white 44.5 million including add ons

1.) 18 Aug 2022 15:51:33
79 I am also pleased that Morgan Gibbs seems to be heading our way. Correct me if I am wrong but does that mean we currently have signed Linguard, O’Brien, Mangala, Freulen, Kayoute and I think one other . Plus two others mentioned in the press that might be coming . On top of Colback, Yates, Cafu and some n loan. Plus the other favourite of SC ‘ Jimmy G’ yet to sign but my guess it’s odds on he will be
What are you and everyone’s thoughts.

2.) 18 Aug 2022 16:06:20
Hope this spending spree pays off!

3.) 18 Aug 2022 16:08:18

Sounds a lot. On the other hand, could we get a better player of that type, with that much potential for resale value in the future, for the same money? Aouler maybe?

I think they have a plan. Buy who the boss thinks he needs. If we stay up, we won't have to buy many players in future windows, only new players better than these. People say it is a risk. It would be a massive risk to not spend big and be more likely to get relegated. I don't fancy waiting another 23 years for this chance.

4.) 18 Aug 2022 16:17:18
Missing piece be in the England team next year cracking player.

5.) 18 Aug 2022 20:48:26
Redcyclist that’s a great perspective of all the money we’re spending on players and think you’ve hit the nail on the head, great post and thought process, who’s to say o’brien won’t become a 20 to 30 million pound player and judging on what I’ve seen of him so far he probably will, same goes for Neco Williams, mangala, and Nickhate so that could be a possibility of 120 million just there. Then there’s Johnson who will probably be worth 40 to 50 million in a year or twos time, then there’s awonyi and Bacconie who look promising, plus the 100 million we will get in revenue probably more in the first season so even though the money that is being spent looks out of this world it’s actually not, as it’s a calculated risk that’s being taken by the powers that be, weather it’s 40000 or 40 million the principal of business and investment is the same………. don’t worry fellow reds as European football is within sight.

16 Aug 2022 23:15:55
Ryan giggs
"I've never Ben faithful in a relationship "
Good luck with that case?.

1.) 17 Aug 2022 10:25:40
I am being truthful in this case, (so far), don't expect me to keep it up, I only have so much patience as these women have found out.

2.) 17 Aug 2022 12:04:59
Why did you tell Ryan Giggs that 79 ??.

16 Aug 2022 22:00:50
Well done to swann and Harbottle a goal each for Mansfield.

15 Aug 2022 23:21:56
Doc where are you mate?
You said you would not post till after the West ham game?
Did you enjoy the win you predicted?
Only kidding as your obviously one of life's worried people.
Luckily we have a coach that doesn't worry
Try taking a Cooper chill pill doc.

1.) 16 Aug 2022 09:34:29
79, I enjoyed Sundays match who couldn’t . The match was excellent, end to end football and the noise from the fans reminded me of the playoff final! SC is without doubt a first class manager and is British! However any managers tenure is dependent on results. As long as he only, has absolute control of the team and it’s coming and goings, I will have no worries.

2.) 16 Aug 2022 10:59:32
Good man doc, we’re in safe hands with the second coming that is super cooper, the atmosphere at the city ground was electric and think we really helped the team get the 3 points, passion, aggression, determination, resilience we showed and all the hurt we’ve suffered over the years is finally over, thanks to the big guy Evangelous Marinakis and son, Dane Murphy and our very own Welsh wizard stevie super cooper.
Forest are back…. Forest are back!

3.) 16 Aug 2022 12:23:14
Doc no coach has control of the signings these days they just identify positions they need players in and he gets players to work with
He won't fancy some of them just as he didn't fancy laryea and odjeda who were signed last season
Tottenham wanted spence but conte didn't want him that's football nowadays
The coach is there to coach the players and get results.

{Ed001's Note - Klopp has full control. If he says no then they are not signed. Pep also has complete control.}

4.) 16 Aug 2022 14:22:52
Not many clubs do though edd.

{Ed001's Note - you would be surprised, particularly in English football as most clubs have not moved on to the modern DoF system fully yet. West Ham is another whose manager has final say. Arsenal also. And that is just off the top of my head.}

5.) 16 Aug 2022 20:37:57
I can't come up with another one except maybe Bournemouth edd
Even when a coach wants a player it's down to the dof to get the deal done.

15 Aug 2022 22:47:02
When you see man utd at rock bottom to me it's a classic case of what happened when matt Busby retired
He hung around instead of letting new managers get on with things.
History is repeating itself with ferguson hanging around
Retirement should mean Retirement and while obviously keeping an interest don't hang around all the time.
Ten hagg won't last ten games he's not got the players onside and doesn't have a clue how to go about it
That's where we've git a gem of a coach as he knows how to build team spirit immediately and how to communicate with the fans.

1.) 15 Aug 2022 23:18:46
I obviously know what your saying 79 mate. (When it comes to fergie) but i love seeing the old boy frank clark at every game. And i don't agree with ten hagg having the players onside. I just don't think he has the players full stop. The yank owner's don't give one flying fck about man utd. Which I'm over the moon with. there's a lot more than players and manager bringing that club down. Which as yourself my friend know through our history. You don't get the business side sorted your effed. Hagg took far too much on coming from ajax. Within a club full of restless fans and ignorant yank owners.

2.) 16 Aug 2022 08:13:01
More than happy for Man Utd to be in turmoil and hope there's a few more having problems so we can pick up a few points early on don't care how we win would like to have a few before the break for the World cup . I read that Watford players were happy to see the back of Dennis he obviously needs a good manager to mentor him he's got one now.

3.) 16 Aug 2022 11:10:23
Hope Man Utd rot in hell can't stand em and all their glory hunting so called supporters from anywhere but Manchester.
The traffic Jams on the M25 and around Essex all heading north are horrendous when there at home. ?.

Times are as dark as you make them my friend
At the moment you haven't got your health.
It will return but will take time.
With c.v. brexit and the Russian war against Ukraine there was always going to be a price to pay for our nation
Try not to get pulled down by the British media with all their doom and gloom, it's best not to watch as its hardly good viewing.
Main thing is we are alive and kicking and it's a one way journey, there is no return journey so enjoy.
If we look at life from when we were born my friend there has been so much improvement.
It's just nowadays the TV and media have taken over people's lives and are telling them they need everything that's advertised instead of going out for a walk or a bike ride its TV 24 7 for far to many people.
Fast food cus its easier than cooking lots of things are wrong in our society nowadays
Let's stick to football hey mate on here cus we are going in the right direction.
Politics is a waste of breath and the people will decide in the end what happens as to who tells lies while in power cus that's all they do.
They are all the same.
A bunch of liars that can't answer a question when asked.

Wages are to high that's how he ended up as a free to Everton and done nothing
Some players don't rediscover there form and he looks like one of them and washed up at 26.
A big no from me.

{Ed002's Note - He wasn't free as such - there is a structured payment deal on appearances and a fee to be paid if he leaves.}
