Deserves it and who's next?

A shout out for our neighbours, Notts County FC, well done on a fine 3-0 win at Wembley!
The referee was very lenient and let a lot of stuff go, although some of them could have been cards!
Well done The Magpies.
25 May 2026 22:38:25
Yep, well done, sadpies.
25 May 2026 22:12:20.
Congrats to Notts County today! πππππ»ππ»
Some good local derbies next season with Mansfield and Leicester.
Besides anything that gets up Gary Nevilleβs nose is fine by me!
Uuuuuuuu pies! ππ

Unfortunately I think we will lose Anderson, he's developed at Forest into a fine midfielder, a wonderful player. Hopefully we can reinvest the Anderson money wisely and keep hold of the rest. I really like VP, he is a person given the time and playing talent that can build something special.
25 May 2026 22:09:16
Anderson will go. Just wish the recruitment staff will go as well. Bought some crap last season.
25 May 2026 12:46:07
Don't worry Morgan, about the England squad for a start. Henderson and Burns are too old to cope with the heat and the pace over the pond. Players always get called upon thru injuries etc, so you will get your turn.
25 May 2026 14:21:03
Hope so, Humorist. I mean, why wouldn't you take the top scoring Prem Englishman? Crazy imo.
25 May 2026 17:30:43
Wonder what excuse Tuchel will use, when England go out???
Huge risk he's taken.
25 May 2026 20:56:03
He'll have his escape route planned for each round. Whether the team will nail him out is the main question.
25 May 2026 11:49:20
I hate the summer break. Let's hope some planning and thought has gone on to bring the right players in.
25 May 2026 12:47:05
Me too, BSE, mate. I'm very encouraged by VPs sign-off interview when he uses the exact word "stability" which I've stressed many times in previous posts.
Also, he has urged that transfers get done quickly, and certainly before the season starts.
Last year we had 3 players signed before pre-season, and a massive 10 during August and September. Just hopeless and a massive problem for Nuno, especially as they were of "variable" quality, shall we say.
Talks a lot of sense, imo.
25 May 2026 13:01:59
Also, VP is speaking of only a few incomings, as he has the foundation he wants in the squad and doesn't want to dilute the character and talent he already has. I'm thinking 3 or 4 maximum, depending if we retain the services of our big 3 (Murillo, MGW and Ando). Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Sels, Williams, and Sanghere were on someone's shopping list.
25 May 2026 19:01:07
Well, that's it, thankfully. Terrible season, we do not need another one like that. But I did enjoy yesterday, and I did notice on a couple of occasions VP resorted to Dyche ball when Awoniyi came on. Just hope he spends Mr Ms money wisely this summer.
25 May 2026 19:49:02
Vitor, or any other coach, doesn't buy the players.
Fierrea does.
25 May 2026 20:37:21
Couldn't care less who buys them just as long as they're right for the club.
25 May 2026 21:06:32
That's the worry, mate.
25 May 2026 21:56:53
Well, we haven't done badly so far.
MGW, Anderson, Murillo, Aina, Milenkovic, Williams, Wood, Jesus, Awoniyi, Sels, and more, and even the new batch are starting to show promise now they've been given a chance.
Europe came too soon, you watch the effect it has on Sunderland next season.
We are in a perfect position now, only needing to do a bit of wheeling and dealing.
25 May 2026 09:33:50
That was definitely a game of two halves! Anderson was imperious and linked with MGW and vice versa. Second half Forest's tempo dropped and as soon as Anderson went off MGW's game wilted. Sels again kept us in the game. Not sure why VP didnβt start with Netz. Have a good summer everyone.
25 May 2026 14:35:29
I agree with that, Nuno. Perhaps Nottingham Forest wilted in the sun, and Bournemouth got word that a win might give them Champions League football. Mind you, MGW very nearly nicked it in the end, a miracle-saving block in the 6-yard box.
I was looking at the concluding stats. VP got 17 points from 12 games, not much different than SD's 22 from 18.
Likewise, when SD left, we were 4 points above the relegation spot, and by yesterday we were 5 points clear.
But there is a world of difference in attitude, application, and the feel-good factor around the WFCG. I just hope Mr M keeps VP onside and happy in a way he didn't with Nuno.
He will know, having appointed (and sacked) him at Olympiakos, that if he sells his best players and doesn't replace them with the same quality, VP will leave as he did at Wolves. The summer is going to be very interesting I think...
By the way, I was very moved by the John Robertson tribute (completely overshadowed and ignored in the media, who focused entirely on Salah's lachrymose Liverpool exit). Also, Neco's presentation at the end.
It's been quite a season, one way and another, but one defeat in ten (and that defeat due to a reffing blooper) is a great way to finish. Coyr!
25 May 2026 16:20:14
Yes, I thought overlooking Robbo was sacrilege!
25 May 2026 21:44:46
Lol, Stokie, SD was crap, never mind about stats. If you look at your stats, if VP had another 18 points to play for, if they'd of had the same amount of games in charge, also I would say VP had the stronger opposition in games. And what happened to us finishing mid table?. π€ Just saying.
25 May 2026 22:09:42
All "ifs", Skegs, mate. Like, "If that dog hadn't stopped for a π© it, it would have caught that rabbit π." πππ.
Seriously, 44 points last season would have got us 13th.
But it's been a bumpy ride.
I'm ready for my cruise and a bit of cricket. If I'm really bored and at a loose end, I might watch some of the World Cup.
But that's what being a Red is all about....
25 May 2026 22:37:11
Stokey Dyche should never have been let near Forest.
Wrong attitude and a throwback to the 70s and 80s with his one tactic.
25 May 2026 07:10:36
To be nice and unrealistic for next season Iβd absolutely love if our squad looked something like this. Would definitely get European football of some description.
GK: Trafford, Sels
RB: Aina, Wan Bissaka/Walker-Peters
CB: Murillo, Milenkovic, Cunha, Morato/Bassey, Abbott
LB: Neco, Netz
CM/CDM: Sangare, Dominguez, Yates, M. Fernandes, Hackney
CAM: Gibbs White
RW: Bowen, Hutchinson/Bakwa
LW: Goncalves (Sporting), Hudson Odoi
ST: Parrott/N. Jackson, Kalimuendo, Jesus.
25 May 2026 09:54:01
Good shout, mate. Clearly, we should be looking at squad depth with quality. Think McAtee is at a crossroads moment?
Personally, I would take another chance on him.
He is quality, however, as we all know, he doesn't really show it enough.
25 May 2026 11:45:02
Not a chance, sorry.
25 May 2026 12:25:48
Agreed, bsered, but that would be a dream squad for next season. I think if we can add 4/5 good quality players we'll be top half next season.
As for McAtee, Rogie, I'm 50/50. I think there's a player there, but I think his game time will be even more limited next season, so for that reason he misses out for me.
Maybe a loan to one of the promoted clubs? Unless VP fancies him next season or is planning a different formation/tactics to allow him to feature. Just can't see where he gets the minutes to grow at the club.
25 May 2026 22:42:43
Parrott? Really?
None of those will happen, mate, and so glad they won't tbh.
24 May 2026 21:59:11
So a 1-1 draw today, and Premier League next season. Not all of the players were at today, and what's with the playing out from the back - how many times did we get blocked off! Hutchinson needs to read up on being a winger. He gave the ball away so many times. Cunha did not look interested in defending or running.
Woody also, along with Jesus, giving the ball away so cheaply! Then we get McAttee, omg, work on your football and your brain!
End of season performance, below par in most areas.
Well done Neco on the award!
Well done MGW for another goal!
COYR.
24 May 2026 18:39:27
Well done Neco, player of the season. Well deserved.
24 May 2026 19:50:13
Pleased for him.
A close call with MGW for me.
24 May 2026 21:18:52
GW all day for me, without his goals we'd have gone down this season.
If Neco hadn't hand-balled against Palace, that'd be two extra points, but I agree he's had a good season.
Funny how we all think GW has been hard done by for England no.10, yet most people obviously didn't think he was our best player?
24 May 2026 22:34:31
Oh well, Redstripe, the Forest fans have spoken. Gone to the best players this season. π
