Really pleased to see Matty Cash is maturing into a top home grown player who can play in different positions. Already scored 9 goals in 88 appearances at 22.

Compare him to Benny Osborn who at 25 only scored 15 in 212 appearances delpoyed more often than not in a more advanced position on the pitch.

Matty looks like he is heading for a more successful career while Benny has hit a ceiling so in my book great business to sell and invest stronger more gifted players. No more games where we get bullied or outpaced in midfield. Long may it continue.

Onward and Upward.

1.) 06 Oct 2019 14:10:14
I think long term his best career option is at right-back.

2.) 06 Oct 2019 14:58:47
i think Cash is probably the best RB we’ve had for years, last one close was probably Gunther.

3.) 06 Oct 2019 16:30:50
Good old Gunther 🤣.

4.) 06 Oct 2019 18:35:42
Matty has made right back his position he's been man of the match last four games and just gets better with each game.
Top quality along with worrall, just shows the academy players can make it.

5.) 06 Oct 2019 18:47:06
Gunter must have set a record for the number of goals conceded on his back post? Remember the days when we couldn't defend a ball played in from wide to the back post? You could set your watch by it!

05 Oct 2019 19:44:18
3 games in 7 days coming up after yet another international break.
3 wins the target but we really need Jenks/ Daws/ Alfie back in contention to ensure we keep fresh and the tempo up?

1.) 05 Oct 2019 22:13:17
Prefer no break red as were on a roll,
We've shown that the squad can cope with injuries so be good to get players back but the break for me gives Lamouchi even more time to work with the players and make us even more awesome.
Only an injury to grabban or cash can derail our season.

2.) 06 Oct 2019 08:59:55
Sow will be 3/ 4 weeks if a minor hamstring problem but as you say we have the squad to cope with it. Semedo coming back and Bostock desperate to play a part. Surely Jenkinson will be close after the break as well. Our squad strength will carry us through the season unlike other teams who will weaken when key players get injured. Only question mark for us is the obvious one. Would Mir step up if Grabban was out for a while?

21 Sep 2019 14:16:15
Here's the pre- match post match summary.

Well done lads. Comprehensive team victory today and a major statement of intent.

Onward and Upward

PS At least you showed the other Trent Bridge team how not to bottle it!

1.) 21 Sep 2019 18:15:08
Are you sure you meant comprehensive not hanging on lol.

2.) 21 Sep 2019 22:09:48
It's only called hanging on if shots were really trouble to our keeper, he dealt with things comfortably and Barnsley couldn't score as they lack the real quality to beat the likes of samba dawson and the star man worrall.
Too many of you worry how things were in the past, we are different under Lamouchi and one thing that stands out the most is that we are far fitter than under previous managers.
We press high up the pitch and have pace to attack, something that's been missing for many a year.

3.) 21 Sep 2019 23:04:42
The team came through and by all accounts we never looked like conceding given we are comfortable sitting back and defending these days?

4.) 22 Sep 2019 11:54:36
Fm79 you are right Samba coped with Barnsley having some good shots on goal but I think hanging on is when the other team are in your final third for a long period of time and your keeper is having to make some good saves. We do have a goalkeeper and defence that are the most solid we have had for a good amount of time which is great to see, but hang on we did.

5.) 22 Sep 2019 18:38:45
The result was never in doubt once we scored, you sound like a lot who sit around me worrying if we aren't three nil up.
It was a comfortable win in what will be a demanding week.

6.) 22 Sep 2019 20:20:46
Unlike some I do not expect to wipe the floor with the struggling teams. I just said as I saw it. We are more resilient, and have five or six players capable of scoring, long may it last.

7.) 22 Sep 2019 22:10:37
So if we are more resilient why worry?
I wasnt in the slightest and at the moment we are more an away sort of side that soaks it up and hits on the break, but when you are confident in not conceding then there is nothing to worry about?
Like you say we have quite a few capable of scoring and last week at Swansea could have had four this week a couple, but in both games we never looked liked conceding so all is well.

8.) 23 Sep 2019 19:11:24
Ff. I don't know if i sit near you or not pal but we were definately hanging on towards the end. Cash and Grabban almost made a right dogs bolix of it down our defensive right. Ok they were both playing out of position but hanging on. Definately.

9.) 23 Sep 2019 21:44:04
No gazza you were hanging on as I was never one bit worried, cash was injured and grabs filled in, but even if you get past dawson and worrall you have to beat samba and he's a class act.
So stop worrying when we are under the cosh because we will be most games home or away as we are a counter attacking side not one that will control the game.

14 Sep 2019 21:20:09
Well done team, regulation away win playing incisive counter attacking football from a very solid base.

At long last we have some pace and creativity to move the ball quickly in the final third and get in shots on target.

Mr Laumouchi looks like he knows how to get the best out of GrabOne?

Our strongest team is now the team our coach picks for the game not who might be best on paper.

We are going to be the team to beat to get promotion this season!

1.) 15 Sep 2019 14:12:49
Great game great result just imagine how many goals grab one would get if he managed to stay on side lol coyr lamouchi seems to be getting the team how he wants it just need to string some wins together.

2.) 16 Sep 2019 22:04:28
Think you and me red need to eat some humble pie for calling the dof as his signings that we've seen are working out well?

3.) 16 Sep 2019 23:33:14
Always happy to be proven wrong when criticising my team and personnel. I'd be keen to know just how many in addition to the French based players were Lamouchi picks rather than Dourekas given his previous recruitment?

Just happy that we are all singing off the same hymn sheet and the harmony remains throughout the season no matter where we sit in the league so long as we moving forward with the same commitment and evolving style?

Really looking forward to Bostock slotting into the side as he with Carvalho will unpick most teams in this league?

07 Sep 2019 20:57:22
Just thinking Tuesday could be judgement day for Mr Muric?

Loan deal set up when we were in between keepers and Man City would have insisted on first team appearances which Lamouchi has honoured before taking him out the firing line for his own man.

If England run riot and the lad buckles I expect our coach to return him to sender? 🤔🤓

1.) 07 Sep 2019 21:27:14
The judge has already delivered his verdict on muric as he has dropped him.
He'll get beat Tuesday and has nothing to do with things, he's not good enough and all city want is a keeper that can play with their feet as they don't have to worry about the opposition putting them under pressure.

2.) 10 Sep 2019 22:31:48
Tonight confirmed we should not be training Man City's reserve keeper in our first team. Pep may think he is good with his feet but in the Championship you need to stop goals with your hands first. His positioning is poor and his chasing of team mate Sterling for his shirt shows just how immature he is!

Thank you but give me Pants everyday as our number 2 for this season.

3.) 10 Sep 2019 23:02:18
Well red he got beat five times and was all over the place always going to happen as the lad simply isn't good enough to play behind anything other than man city's defence when he has little to do, not that he will ever be their number one.

Will someone explain why Danny Rose gets anywhere near an England team? He is the worst defending left back since Phil Neville to wear the shirt?

1.) 12 Oct 2019 12:29:42
Well lads. how do you reckon we'll do today then?

11 Oct 2019 23:41:32
Ben Watson for England!
Dire midfield performance from England who need a leader to sit in front of the back four and get them organised!

1.) 13 Oct 2019 12:56:26
I thought Henderson was supposed to do that?

06 Oct 2019 14:38:30
Unbelievable value at the DW Stadium for our next match. £10 to sit in the main stand centre block. £40 for an executive seat and 2 course meal, bar and betting.

Thinking of upgrading and breaking out the cigars and bubbly at those prices? 😎🤣

1.) 06 Oct 2019 20:14:09
If it was on a Saturday then I'd join you, but Sunday not for me and its live in the living room.
That's why it's cheap.
But you live up there so enjoy my friend 🍷.

02 Oct 2019 00:05:14
The scene was set at kick off tonight with a 2/3rd empty stadium an unexpectant nervous crowd transmitting a library atmosphere to a home side low on confidence.

Blackburn gifted the game to Forest in the first minute but lethargic finishing failed to take advantage which set a flat tone for the game and Forest mirrored Blackburn's inability to hold onto the ball and make telling passes.

Forest (as always now) kept a great shape under Watson's leadership and never really looked like conceding until two defenders went to ground to deceive Samba letting in Armstrong. Forest responded immediately and the game tempo increased.

However, instead of finishing Blackburn off an inability to find players with longer passes only encouraged Blackburn and lifted their confidence in the last 20 mins.
Ameobi was deployed more centrally but lacks all round awareness and needs too many touches unless the ball is played in front on him which summed up Forest's general play.

Two points dropped but undefeated again. It's chilly nights in Lancs under the floodlights like this where Championships are won!

We move onwards and upwards.

1.) 02 Oct 2019 09:06:32
Can the fans stop singing for JC to come off the bench please he is The reason we were struggling for the last 20 odd minutes coincides with his introduction for Sammy who didn't have a great game, he just isn't strong enough he is no better now than 18 months ago, I don't think there's much to pick between him and Zac Clough apart from £11 odd million, in my 40 something years watching Forest I have never heard fans call out for such a mediocre player or am I missing something in my old age? after saying that Sow must be the buy of the season we must get him on a longer contract. also great away point lads.

2.) 02 Oct 2019 09:33:38
Must be an age thing Skeggy. I'm the same as you. I'm a BC fab (before Clough) and I've got to agree about JC I just don't get what people see in him. I think if he'd have been on loan last season with an option to buy for 13 million we'd have thought it was April first. He can occasionally find a pass but he's slow doesn't always have a good first touch rarely goes past defenders. I like you think he's not much better than Clough. This league is for battlers not lightweight fancy dans.

3.) 02 Oct 2019 09:53:43
Yes Skegdyred and syred. I must be a similar vintage to you guys.
As much as i want to, i just can't see anything about JC to justify any sort of fee.
Ok he can pick a pass when he has lots of time and space to do it but with no strength or pace he just doesn't do much at all. And he looks scared to head the ball.
I would love to see him come good but no better than Clough imo.

4.) 02 Oct 2019 10:00:16
People ask for good football and when we bring in people who can pick out a pass and have a creative spark while having some actual attacking intent they call them out for being too weak for the league, but praise Watson for passing form side to side because he looks to have made no mistake all game but without taking that ‘risk’ of a forward pass or flick then nothing will happen. Our best chance was when JC came on and actually provided a bit of forward thinking.

5.) 02 Oct 2019 10:12:28
Nobody can dispute we had our pants pulled down with Carvalho but we have him now so have to keep seeing if he will eventually become a consistent performer or sell and take a massive loss.
The situation seems worse
When you think what we could have got for similar money. We could probably have got both Said Benrahma and Sergi Canos from Brentford for what we paid for him and they're far superior players as I'm sure we'll see first hand on Saturday.

6.) 02 Oct 2019 10:10:25
The call to bring on JC then AD and TS to try and win the game was correct. However, the defence without Daws starting dropping off too much out of possession and these guys spent the last 20 minutes facing the wrong way!

It's very easy to criticise individuals but the team collective late on made hard work of beating a very average team. We never looked like losing but the impact players need the team structure on the front foot to shine!

7.) 02 Oct 2019 10:48:58
I’ll take anything from Ewood Park, can’t remember winning there since 70’s, always been a grave yard for us,

8.) 02 Oct 2019 11:12:45
Red Fred don’t think you’re right about buying those players. No club would accept 13 million spread over 5 years. That’s why this deal was able to be made. As for Carvs he slotted adomah through on a 1 on 1 after coming on. Adomah should have scored. After that we seemed to play hoof ball. Which we played with Ameobi at that came to nothing too. The view that he is too weak to play in this league is dinosaur football mentality.

9.) 02 Oct 2019 11:44:32
Agree redtree with that assessment.

10.) 02 Oct 2019 11:45:15
I'm a JC fan, but the criticism of him is not completely unjust. He is weak, struggles to hold players off, he can give the ball away cheaply and often disappear for portions of the game, BUT! He has that magic where he can find a single pass to open up a defence, as proved last night with his through-ball for Adomah. Had Adomah put that away we'd probably be talking about JC being a game changer again and singing his praises. He is capable of that moment of quality that we don't really have elsewhere in the squad.

He either needs to bulk up or become cuter at finding those pockets of space. Space is at a premium in the Championship and JC needs a little more time and space to operate at his devastating best, it's as simple as that. Bulk up, or work harder/ smarter to find that room. If he doesn't he'll only ever be a cameo player.

11.) 02 Oct 2019 12:26:59
Redtree its not dinosaur football I would love to see us buy Canos or Benrahma who are both forward thinking goal scoring midfielders as Red Fred said but Carvalho isn't anywhere near their standard it would be great if he was, of course we all want him to do well and he did make a good pass to Albert and he should have done better but how many times did he give the ball away and not track back and is it a coincidence that under AK and MO he was a bit part player and under SL it will be no different , if we had loaned him with an option to buy he would be back playing football for the Benfica B team, I really hope he can add more to his game but after being with us now for 18 months IMO he's no better.

12.) 02 Oct 2019 12:28:18
There in lies the problem. One good through ball and all of a sudden the minutes he spends on the pitch with no input are forgotten.
His weakness to me isn't a problem as we have other stronger players to act as enforcers around him. To me his main deficiency is an alarming lack of pace. During the Stoke game he tried to knock the ball past one side of a player and run around the other side, the Stoke player had time to smoke a cigar and still get to the ball first.
Start him at home and bring him on away if we are behind.

13.) 02 Oct 2019 13:12:56
He wasn’t a bit part player under Karanka. We all know what happened with MON. Canos 1 assist in 8 starts. This season he’s played on the wing. Similar with Benrahma no goals between them. Forward thinking goal scorers. I don’t think Carvs is the finished article. I agree with you SteveSWE that he needs to be smarter, needs to draw more fouls and needs to get on the ball more. I also know he’s missed a pre season. Redfrec I remember him trying that. I think he has pace in his locker though I remember either his assist or goal against villa last year showed his pace. Watch the game again and see how Ameobi played that position, it’s one of the hardest on the pitch.

14.) 02 Oct 2019 14:18:57
Lets put it simple way if anybody else bought hi for 13 million we would of took the piss he has the odd good pass in him but that's it hopefully olympiacos will want him in tge new year for tge 13 million we wasted on him and lamouchi can invest that money wiseley to help us stay in top 6 😆.

15.) 02 Oct 2019 14:24:38
Lolley struggled to play it as well redtree.
I'll just trust Lamouchi to sort who should play as he seems to get it 99%right.
All the offensive players have been inconsistent so far this season so just imagine how good we'll be when lolley carvalho uncle Albert really find some form 🤔🤔.

16.) 02 Oct 2019 14:45:47
You’re spot on 79.

27 Sep 2019 22:07:09
Consummate team performance tonight. Square pegs in square holes and plenty of fitting pieces on the bench. Very reminiscent of an OBE team.

MOM was Watson by a country mile and now a contender for player of the season if we maintain this approach. McGovern at his best!

Stoke reminded me of Forest in recent years under Warburton et al early promise, huff and puff but imposing a system that does not play to the players strengths?

Dare we believe? You bet your life we do!

Onward and Upward.

1.) 27 Sep 2019 22:34:48
Just under Warburton red I would add krankie and a lot more managers to that but thank god there all long gone so let's forget about past crappy managers and talk about lamouchi the master long live lamouchi happy days 🎉😁.

2.) 27 Sep 2019 23:32:30
Lolley to score, Forest to win. 5/ 1 and a free night out. COYR.

3.) 28 Sep 2019 00:30:05
Ha ha Skegs, ironic, you said he would be gone by Christmas, maybe you should write him a card and wrap him a present now.

Early doors still but the team and manager have worked hard to get here in a short time, well done all and well deserved.

The Rovers fans were thankful for a point as they recognised what a strong well organised team Forest were so your comment is off the mark Redfrog!

Our only fault was letting the game open up after equalizing instead of pressing them higher up the pitch which put us under pressure late on but we never really looked like losing.

Bridcutt is a decent player but he has the same problem at Forest as he had at Leeds in that he does not move the ball forward quickly enough for the style of play.

I wish him a speedy recovery and good luck with his next club as he is a good leader.
