Ibrahim Sissoko is his name.

Walking The Walk

08 Dec 2019 16:53:30
For those that think players from the continent will join us some striker from the French second division has been linked to us he is 6'3 and has scored a decent amount of goals for his club.

Walking The Walk

We are reputed to want Connor Wickham on loan from Crystal Palace, they are calling him a striker, but i thought he was more of a attacking midfielder. He would need four games at least due to his lack of game time to get up full fitness.

Walking The Walk

1.) 05 Dec 2019 14:07:14
Yes and hope he doesn't get injured in between them 4 games been to injury prone thanks but no thanks let's move on to the next made up story from the papers 😁.

2.) 05 Dec 2019 14:43:46
Connor Wickham, no thanks. Dwight Gale to Connor Wickham? Chalk and cheese.

3.) 05 Dec 2019 14:56:42
Daz, i understand if you do not rate him, but the comparison to Gayle is not something i understand. They are two different types of player, Gayle is without a doubt a out and out goal scorer, Wickham is a defence splitter that chips in with some goals. Skegsjay does have a good point though that injury prone players should not be brought in to the club, and Skegsjay thinks he is injury prone, i assume he knows he has kept tabs on him to some extent to say that.

4.) 05 Dec 2019 19:24:46
WTW I know they are two different types of player hence my comment chalk and cheese. Its goals we need not an injury prone player who will not get the goals required. Just think we could do better. Shane Long would be a player I would consider, needs to get his career back on track and he would get goals in the Championship and would probably be a cheaper option than DG?

5.) 05 Dec 2019 20:04:54
I did not get your post as you meant it either Daz, by saying chalk and cheese it looked as if you were saying they are both strikers, Galleries who is quality, to Wickham who's poor. We do need a goal getter but we also need someone to challenge Lolley to create and score goals.

6.) 05 Dec 2019 20:36:49
Sorry guys I should have explained myself better. We need a striker who will get goals and DG would be exactly that. Wickham is not a striker who will get us the goals, even if he does chip in with the odd goal or assist I just think we could do better? probably the wrong choice of words in my first post.

7.) 05 Dec 2019 22:59:21
Gayle and Wickham are both strikers. Wickham is a big strong No9 that's never quite kicked on. Watford in for him too apparently.

8.) 06 Dec 2019 11:52:48
SSWE I always thought a striker was either the number 11 whose main job was to score as many goals as possible, or the number 10 in combination with the number 11 when two are played up front and the number 9 is a feeder that chips in with a few goals.

9.) 06 Dec 2019 12:20:43
I supposed it's subjective but Wickham is a 6ft+ centre-forward. When he broke through, he made waves in the England youth set up and was supposed to be the next Alan Shearer. Obviously it didn't work out that way for him.

For me, a No9 is the man that plays centrally and leads the line and is often a target man. A No10 is traditionally more creative and floats around the No9, often dropping a bit deeper to get the ball to feet.

That's only a personal opinion though. I know different shirt numbers mean different things to different people, especially in different countries. For e. g. A No3 over here is a left-back but in Holland, traditionally, the No5 is the left back. Or a No5 in Argentina is often a deep-lying midfielder.

10.) 06 Dec 2019 13:08:18
Imo no thanks to Conor, hardly been ripping up trees and not worked out at Palace for him. Gayle (cheating aside), is proven at this level but unless it's a loan deal he's not worth 15 mil at 30.

I wonder if they are still keeping tabs on Shankland at Dundee.

11.) 06 Dec 2019 13:53:16
42 someone suggested Shane Long, what are your thoughts on him joining us.

12.) 06 Dec 2019 15:59:19
And again as I've said before will we get a big named striker that is going to sit on the bench and wait for grabbon to get injured were not going to change the system it works and we're not going to pay 10 to 15 million pound on a striker to sit on the bench we already have a number 10 that's cost us 13 million sitting on the bench it will be a up and coming foreign lad that we probably haven't heard off that will learn off grabbon we will probably invest more in a attacking midfielder or a attacking winger any way its good watching you come up with all these top strikers it's like reading the papers every morning lol 4 nil tonight uredddsss.

13.) 07 Dec 2019 14:11:42
WTW, Long always gives 100% and is full of running, really liked by the fans. Doesn't score that many for the Saints and usually used as a super sub for them, one of my mates is a Saints fan so watch them when on the box.

Would be decent in the Championship if he dropped down but 32 now so past his best I would think.

14.) 07 Dec 2019 23:52:35
We need to cut that one "short
"and don't even think about it.
Irish strikers in the twighlight of their career aren't the answer.

04 Dec 2019 20:08:19
Planning permission has been granted to extend the scouting, sports science, massage, recovery areas, a private suite for the owner to entertain guests. Things are now getting going, exciting times ahead.

Walking The Walk

1.) 05 Dec 2019 07:10:05
Think its brilliant somewhere to go and lie down for a massage after a skin full on matchday. 😁😁😁.

2.) 05 Dec 2019 08:50:47
Ground should be brilliant can't wait however when finished will it hold 38000 or 36000 i'm hearing different things?

3.) 05 Dec 2019 11:21:43
Aps i suppose it is hoped 38,000, planning permission requirements could mean only 36,000 the council do however seem just as keen about the situation aswell as the fans and club.

02 Dec 2019 15:28:58
Danny Owen has reported Newcastle will be asking for £15m for Gayle but any club interested is likely to ask for a loan with a agreed permanent fee on the proviso that promotion is gained.

Walking The Walk

1.) 02 Dec 2019 18:46:24
Well maybe we can put this one to bed ow 15 million having a laugh and it was also said Bruce wanted to keep him even if it's just for back up so let's move on and have a reality check.

2.) 02 Dec 2019 20:11:58
Skegsjay, i did not say we will get him, and i did not say we would pay £15m. What i have said it has been reported any team wanting him are likely to want to loan him with a view to buy should the team he goes to get promoted.

Are you saying any team, including ourselves could not afford £15m if we got to the Premier league.

3.) 02 Dec 2019 20:12:31
Just to repeat Skegsjay, Grabban was about 4,or 5 years older when we signed him and cost us £6m, so £15m for a proven striker is hardly massively overpriced.

4.) 02 Dec 2019 20:37:02
Walking the walk I wasn't on about you I was on about everyone that thinks we're getting him also it's not just the 15 million pound it's the silly wages we would after pay him also we play with a lone striker so who sits on the bench grabbon or gayle plus if I remember right assombongola was a proven championship goalscorer 15 million what's happened with him last couple of seasons there's no guarantee he will fit into our team it's a big old world of football mate and plenty of unknown quality strikers out there for a quarter of what we would pay for gayle and our recruitment staff will already know about these so let them get on with there job sow samba semedo etc peanuts for quality players as the meerkats say simples.

5.) 02 Dec 2019 21:25:36
Semedo is valued at 25 million by his club skeggs if we want to sign him.

6.) 02 Dec 2019 21:50:25
What's his wages though why we have him on loan no where near as much as gayles would be.

7.) 02 Dec 2019 21:53:14
And it is benfica 79 they like to put silly prices on players doesn't mean to say they would get any where near it.

8.) 03 Dec 2019 09:33:45
Grabban was 30yo when we signed him at £6m. Gayle is 30yo and going for an apparent £15m. There was not 4 or 5 years difference between them. How old do you think Grabban is? lol.

9.) 03 Dec 2019 09:59:12
For £15m i'd rather go younger. Ollie Watkins from Brentford? 23, knows where the goal is, will likely cost around the same price.

10.) 03 Dec 2019 10:50:17
SSWE Yes, obviously my bad, i was mixing up Murphy and Grabban doh.

11.) 03 Dec 2019 13:36:59
Hi Guys,

If I remember rightly Bruce stitched us up when he let surplus Hobbs leave Hull then sudenly called him back when it appeared they might make a few quid and held a gun to our head mid season to buy him back. Bruce will be behind this 15 mil sod him let's look elsewhere.

Rant over.

Sabri was big enough to admit he made a mistake with the way he set up the team last night when interviewed. You can take what he did in different ways, you could say he was trying to use different tactics to throw Millwall off and unsettle their way of playing, although it did not work at least he has a plan B, or you could say why change what has worked fairly well so far. It just shows how hard being in charge of a team is, had it come off we would have been singing 🎶 his praises but now his change of tactics are being questioned by some. My only complaint is that the team should have been able to hang on once they got in front, but as some have said most of us would have taken a point at their place before the game. It is all part of Sabri's learning curve in this countries football and i think he has done really well so far and fingers crossed we can stay in the top six and for the first time in ages get through a entire season with the same man in charge.

Walking The Walk

1.) 07 Dec 2019 14:24:36
The very fact that we are feeling like it's a defeat speaks volumes.

2.) 07 Dec 2019 18:34:04
Playing 541 with Mir upfront against an average side was never going to work.
Not one fan on here would have picked that team.

3.) 07 Dec 2019 19:46:23
While that's true olly, we as fans don't know if grabban had a slight knock or needed a rest?
Lamouchi hands are tied up front as mir is his only option, not his fault it's the cards he was dealt.
Hes done a remarkable job considering his late appointment and his lack of knowledge of this league.
Take the positives out of the game that he saw he made a mistake and don't dwell on the negatives.

06 Dec 2019 20:44:05
I have not had a chance to see the game, how are we doing.

06 Dec 2019 11:59:09
In response to Carvalho being touted as tarket by a Turkish club some Forest fans on social media are saying sell and bring in Bradley Dack. I do not think he would join us, a mid table Premier league team would want him.

Walking The Walk

1.) 06 Dec 2019 12:05:25
You can bring in Bradley Walsh if it gets rid of Carvalho 😎👍.

2.) 06 Dec 2019 15:31:28
I suggested Dack when he was at Gillingham but he went to Rovers for a about £600,000 ,cost a lot more now .

3.) 06 Dec 2019 16:18:41
You could bring in David Bradley (77) if it eases Carvalho out.

02 Dec 2019 16:18:23
Stevie f, you are right about whether or not Sabri will achieve success until the end of the season but AK had both the January and Summer transfer windows which of course included a pre season training to get things right.

Sabri got the Summer transfer window, somehow he has got team unity, even when we do not play well it has hardly ever been down to them not working together and lack of graft.

Just as 79 said, we have managed back to back wins under Sabri, AK could only dream about that, if you include we have already won more games away from home than in most of last season.

Walking The Walk

1.) 02 Dec 2019 19:27:43
I ain’t having a go at Sabri mate, just say there’s a long way to go.

2.) 02 Dec 2019 19:53:23
Stevie f i doubt wtw thinks you are, what he might be trying to put over is Sl could succeed where AK was unable to even though he has had a shorter time. Maybe far more able to succeed

3.) 02 Dec 2019 20:45:33
Which one of Stevie’s posts have intimated our manager isn’t a good find? I think most people are happy with him? If you read his comments he states himself that we have to be more effective at home to succeed .

4.) 02 Dec 2019 21:12:07
2star every team could improve in some way so there is nothing wrong with that, but how is Sl not doing way better than AK, I think wtw made a decent point in AK was rubbish at transferring his Middlesbrough record to Forest. Off course Stevie f has a very good point, just as wtw does.

5.) 02 Dec 2019 21:14:34
2star. Thanks mate glad someone gets my point, another cracking result for the pies yesterday lol,

6.) 02 Dec 2019 21:22:17
Gm2d maybe but time will tell, we can only make a real comparison in maybe a years time,

7.) 02 Dec 2019 22:23:39
Lol yes mate - I soon got over our result!

28 Nov 2019 20:52:53
Dean Ashton has said Lolley went down easily and Wallace should not have been sent off, then went on to say as a forward he would have expected the decision to have gone his way. That does not make sense to me, why would he have expected Wallace to have been sent off had been playing, but not with Lolley playing.

Walking The Walk

1.) 29 Nov 2019 07:27:44
Dean Ashton 🔔 🔚 springs to mind.

2.) 29 Nov 2019 12:39:48
It did look harsh but his arms were all over him and he was the last man. It was the correct decision.

Nice to see Forest finally getting some big decisions go their way, to be honest.

3.) 29 Nov 2019 15:52:10
Some things are going our way this season, you're right. Makes me think this could be our year. For example the header that QPR should have scored would have levelled the match and Forest would settle for a point or maybe lose it. That would have happened last season, but not this. I have that feeling in the bones, it just might be us this season but I will keep this quiet and enjoy us leading the chasing pack without too much media attention. Keep faith in Sabri folks, he's a good'un.

Skegsjay feels Carvalho will be leaving in January, maybe Skegsjay is right. If Carvalho leaves it could mean someone will come in that is better than Silva and Carvalvo while a decent back up to Grabs Two joins the team. The transfer window is going to be interesting to see who,and how many comes in.

Like i said about Osborn for about two seasons he had the most assists in the Championship, yet he cost nothing and kep getting stick, as for his true position it is not his fault every manager liked he could cover different positions and therefore played him in them, Not Bad having the Most Assists in the Championship for a player that does not know his best position yet still got slated. Yet you think Carvalho only gets slated because of his value. 🤔🤔🤔.

He broken up more other teams attacks than Carvalho has assists and goals to his name. Carvalho thinks making a tackle to get the ball back so he can create something for us is beneath him, it is a team sport, gone are days when you can carry a player untill he decides to pick the perfect pass, or show a bit of skill then scores. Like i have said i hope he can make the grade but he needs to do sooner rather than later. I notice you have not mentioned anything about Osborn costing nothing and still getting stick.

I think Silva has adapted to English football better, and he has not been at the club anywhere near as long as Carvalho, if Sabri plays him with the aim of scoring i think he is capable of doing it. L

I can not agree with you on that one 79, Osborn cost us nothing yet inspite him giving 100% every game and in a couple of seasons having the most assists in a Championship season some kept on his case only mentioned his weaknesses. You off course do not agree but for me when a player has cost the club a lot of money by their standards then i'm inclined to expect more from that player.

Carvalho was unlucky to have missed a lot of the pre season because he got clobbered and was out as a result but he should be more consistent by now. I hope he makes the grade it is down to the owners not the fans to make the final decision on his fate.

But if we spent £10m on Ivan Tony who is in the same league, would that mean we stay the top six. I think some are sometimes more interested in spending when our own might make the grade, if given a chance.

I do feel Tyler has been unable to get into the Forest side, except some games under Warburton purely because the managers we have had have been under pressure to get wins even though the team has been rubbish. i'm not sure if Tyler was loaned out before Sabri arrived but with Tyler's speed and good finishing i would have expected him to given a chance by Sabri, perhaps it has been a good thing for Tyler being loaned out as he will have been given more game time which seems to have helped his progress. I would like to see him back in a Forest shirt.

If you look at some of my posts i have said we could go up this season, like you said the Greeks seem to know how to run a football club, that is why i do not think the club will throw caution to the wind and go all out in January in desperation and risk the good work they have done.

79 you misunderstand me, with Lolley i think he knows he is going to start way more times than not so has become complacent because he knows no one is good enough to keep him out of the team for a long period of time. Carvalho's edge has always been blunted very quickly are it became a keen one. You are right about Worrall, Yates, and Watson, i am pleased with our season so far under Sabri but there are always going to be players that lose form but in certain positions we have not got players that can keep that place should they get their chance.

79 any business can say what their aim, but it is another putting so much cash in the pot they could be in major trouble. In the past the club have spent fairly big only to sell anyone that would fetch decent money. As you say if the hope was not to get to the Premier league the stadium would not be getting worked on but many clubs have thrown cash at the transfer windows and failed.
