Bowie one of the best hours of documentary I ever saw was the war at war episode ‘ Stalingrad ‘brilliantly put together and superbly narrated by the great Laurence olivier, it show the horror inflicted on the people of the city their amazing resilience, and endurance under merciless bombardment, no wonder they hate the Germans to this day, not keen myself.

Stevie f, the stalingrad reminds me of how the people including women, btw no offense just wasn't known at the time. Got together and fought the germans. Women snipers, burning any food that could help the germans on there attack. Close range combat etc. Came to the fore. But battle of midway was like a Tarantino film. Couldn't make it up.

Bowie, I do interested with the smaller incidents in the wars, so much heroic deeds that are forgotten.
One such event in WW1 in Belgium, a lock keeper flooded low lying land where masses of German troops and arms were positioned. By opening the flood gates he single handily put the Germans on the backfoot. For his bravery the King of Belgium honoured him with a top bravery award. One of he forgotten famous Belgiums.
