Take this as you like, but rooney is young for management and so was lampard and gerrard.
They are proving its time for new ideas not the sort of rubbish we are being served up with by a "proven"championship manager?

This reminds of the laughter when derby employed super frank, I think Rooney will do well and I wish him well, he’s got one thing many lack - courage - he must have to give this a go and he will give it his best shot too.

Forest. I agree it is good to have young managers that want to play entertaining football.
I do not know the record for ex PL players that have gone on to achieve some success as a manager but i think that Lampard and Gerrard are in a minority.
I think part of the reason Lampard and Gerrard have done well as managers is other than being natural leader while playing they kept their drive to play to their very best even as their playing days were at the very end.
