Just a thought:

Pants gets slaughtered for conceding a goal on his near post struck from the middle of the goal after some abject defending in front of him leaving the whole goal as a target.

The Wigan keeper conceded 3 goals on his far post with 2 from tight angles outside the box and the reports rave about the quality of the strikes.

Methinks it's time to give our first choice keeper a break and get behind him if we are going to have any chance of success this season?

ive not seen the game today but people I know told me he had a decent game an yea was slightly at fault for the goal but like u said the defence are just as much to blame and he did make amends with the pen save.

Ayup everyone, been reading daily for yonks but first time posting because my opinion doesn’t carry much weight living in down here in Oz and unable to get to games anymore - some of you regular posters have me in Stitches though and I’m grateful to you for the broad perspective and opinions.

Been streaming the matches when I can and just had to send my congratulations today to Fans, players MON and the club for Martins first win. I’m chuffed to bits he’s with us finally but also tinged with a little disappointment AK didn’t get time to finish the job.

Wanted to get off my chest if people know, or think Martin got approached by some of his ex team mates at the club about joining us straight after he left the Rep Ireland job end of Nov, and indeed was Aitor ‘feeling flat’ after being tipped off about it around the time of the Ipswich Match beginning of Dec ? Looked a dead man walking through Dec and the Hacks at the NEPost obviously got asked to start rumours.

On Grabban I’ve always a bit of soft spot for players who know where the back of the net is and just lift the team confidence because the team feel we are always going to score - Francis, Birts, Clough, Teddy, Colly, PVH etc so having enjoyed Grabban on the path to get to that stage I’m concerned about what’s happening there? Was he also just flat being naturally loyal to Aitor? Has his attitude not impressed MON? Head strong players loyal to other managers sometimes seen as a bit of a Mole in the camp?

Hope I’m wrong Lewis looked a player and a good Pro who knew his job to score and seemed good at managing the ref a bit - hoped to see him hit the 25-30 tally needed to be at the sweet end of the table.

Keep up the good work on the banter and rumours comments gents I for one feel a bit more connected to home, my beloved Forest and City Ground through here .

YOOOOO REDDDSSS COYR’s !!!!

Welcome oz.some interesting thoughts there.who really knows what goes on behind the scenes.we can but speculate and offer our opinions.to be honest i personally just want to forget about the last couple of months now and just get behind Mon and hope yesterday's win was the first of many.we have the small matter of the sheep coming up in a few weeks and i always start to get slightly nervous leading up to that game as i work with a couple of sheep fans who take great pleasure in winding me up when they beat us.to be fair though,I'll be doing exactly the same after we beat them

Hi Oz. I have a feeling AK was his own worst enemy. He left Boro in high dudgeon about not working with the owners/board, and has done the same at Forest. Most of us wanted him to succeed. Management of Teams now is not what it was and many managers seem to fail because they can't deal with the collective group they find themselves in - Perhaps Hughes, Rowett etc fall into this category? MON is a prime example of someone who knows he has to change with regard to Owners and players - and look at what he produced V Wigan, players more confident, a system that puts us on the front foot, and a goalie making great saves. To be able to do that in 2 weeks is outstanding - let's hope it continues! Grabban is a class player, and MON will get the best out of him.

Listen to the pre match interview with Grabban. He is a sulker and comes across as arrogant and not very bright. He got subbed in a match and has been in a strop since. AK dropped him as he seemed to be disruptive. He is dynamite inside the six yard box but offers little else. He is good at what he does but his attitude needs to be right and MON will not tolerate sulkers.

Oz, As far as i'm aware Grabban has had a injury but has now recovered, i should think Grabban is one of the players has plenty of knowledge about so he just wanted to ease him back while he takes a look at what others are able to do.

I personally do not think Martin got approached once he left his Roi job.

RIE, I have just seen the goal we conceded on the tv, it looked like Pants all over it but it still went in, that was poor goalkeeping.

Pants made a very good double save from the penalty, so he deserves credit there.

RIE, What you fail to write are the numerous times Pants has let games we were winning turn into draws, and games we were drawing turn into losses because of his basic goalkeeping errors.

Give it a rest man are you blaming Pants for every loss this season because we have only lost 7.What about having a go at the midfielders who let the opposition run at our defense without getting tackles in,what about fullbacks the can't stop crosses coming in and centre backs that can’t head a ball away,i expect that’s down to Pants as well, yes he makes mistakes,l do,but I guess you dont. To blame Pants for all our dropped points which you seem to be is just plain daft 🍩

27 Jan 2019 13:27:10
KB, i'm not blaming him for every negative result, but the defence has little confidence in him because of basic errors.

As you say the defence has not helped but wben a Goalkeeper more often than not stays his line instead commanding his area the can not do everything for him.

As for the midfielders, everyone seems to love Colback yet he was part of a 6 man defence.

The previous manager can blamed for bad organisation of midfield and defence but not for a Goalkeeper who has cost us points.

27 Jan 2019 15:13:10
There ain’t a goalie in the championship that ain’t cost there team goals at some time this season. I know he ain’t the best but I don’t slag him off because he is my teams goal keeper ie FORESTgoalie .Cant imagine him wanting to go out in front of 28/29or30 thousand people and think to himself, ithink I’ll drop a few clangers today on purpose do you just give him a break, and I don’t mean his neck.

27 Jan 2019 16:31:53
KB, I know why don't we all live in a ignorant bubble where everything is wonderful and we are sat top of league and won every game 9-0.

Now that is what i call daft.

When i think any player, or the manager has done something wrong i will say so.

When Martin sees a player is not doing something right he will not say nothing, one because he has a opinion, and two it is his job.

In my case i will say something , one because i have a opinion, and two as a fan i like to share that opinion with other fans.

If you do not agree that is fair enough.

So pants is the only one to have in your words done something wrong this season is he, haven’t heard you moaning about the rest of the under achievers, don’t hear you saying anything about murphy not putting himself about as much as he should or not winning the headers he should or Osborne getting dragged out of position and going round in ever decreasing circles also the two right backs that charge upfield can't cross a ball then can’t get back to defend, these to in my mind have done something wrong.

Don’t think I’ve heard Martin moaning about Pants as yet either but being in my ignorant bubble i don’t hear much 🎧 think at the end of the day we both want the same thing, a good winning forest side.
