He wasn't really firing on all cylinders since he had that injury at the end of last season. I've been disappointed in his positional play, loss of speed and to some extent poor defensive work sometimes. Looks like a long rest might do him good. And we also have Zach Abbott as an extra defender if we need him. Let's see how Ange gets round this problem, that might tell us a lot about him.

I'm gutted as well Bowie that Aina is missing. A player with true pace, composure and ball control. Remember how poor we were last time he was out for a few games. Great player. Not seen enough of the possible replacements to comment on their strengths? Enjoy Keswick - fairly pricey there now I think?

Aina looked leggy. Maybe over-trained? Or out of his head? He looked strangely over-casual and not the same player, whatever the reason.
Maybe AFCON is good timing will help get him match fit?
