Just a thought.
Are we going to have a Steve Parrish Day like we have a Bobby Zamora Day?
Forest legends, both of them! ????????????.
11 Aug 2025 17:16:49
Brilliant Stokey.
I remember that last minute winner by Zamora. I was in a pub in Belper at the time. Couldn't help myself. I had to leave my pint and walk straight out disappearing around the corner.
" We all agree, Bobby and Stevie are magic! ".
11 Aug 2025 18:38:09
I don't why Parish is a legend it was Textor that cocked up.
11 Aug 2025 19:05:55
'know'. Too much whisky. Hic.

I can’t take any satisfaction from the palace situation and tbh I feel sorry for the palace fans, they’ve been screwed by poor admin and a dodgy set of rules made by a corrupt organisation. We’ve been done in the past by similar rules and it’s morally wrong. Of course we have to take advantage of the situation and step up to the europa league but mocking palace or their fans is not for me.
I might be alone with this view but hey ho, just my honest opinion ??♂️.
11 Aug 2025 19:36:32
You're not alone in your opinion of this situation 2tone - I hold exactly the same view as you do. They f'd up as we have done in the past. It's the fans who, ultimately, suffer - whoever the team is. No place for mockery.
11 Aug 2025 19:38:55
Well said 2 tone
Excellent post and so true.
11 Aug 2025 19:40:46
2tone. Fair point mate.
I feel sorry for their fans but not Parish. Blaming everyone but himself.
If their admin department did their due diligence, no problem good luck Palace in the Europa league but they effed up good and proper whether it's morally wrong or not.
11 Aug 2025 19:58:09
On reflection 2tone I agree that it’s wrong and immature to mock anyone who’s had misfortune and bad luck……
On a brighter note though, the European Conference League does give fans the opportunity to travel to 3rd rate, chicken ? places, often dirty, dangerous and derelict, riddled with gun toting gangs of druggies ……. as away fans of teams drawn against Palace will discover when they go to Croydon ……. ????.
11 Aug 2025 20:36:11
Palace broke the rules and have been punished, like us and Everton, all of us sorted and punished!. What's unfair is Chelsea, cithe, man Utd still to be charged and if guilty punished, there's a group of teams who have to stick to PSR rules, selling key players to try and keep competitive, and it is the supporters who suffer at the end of the day!.
11 Aug 2025 20:46:44
Obviously places you visited stokey on your travels?
Or did you read a book about those places? ??.
11 Aug 2025 21:48:42
It sounds like you're describing certain parts of Cornwall Stokey.
11 Aug 2025 21:56:03
Lego your living in one of the best places in the British Isles
Embrace it, I love the place, best beaches and surf in England
Spent many summers down there, all that's ruined it is theme parks, but out of season stunning.
11 Aug 2025 22:01:51
I wouldn’t say visited DTP, rather passed through quickly on my way somewhere…. I did come close to death in South London doing a job with the Met at some God forsaken block of flats when a big old type tv was chucked from the upper floors and landed next to me. Attempt murder with my name and my colleagues on the charge sheet as victims ( IPs).
My mate used to live in Sutton in Surrey, much nicer area.
11 Aug 2025 22:14:38
Stokey ????????
Never let me down ?????
If a word could be said you can write a script ?????.
11 Aug 2025 22:23:58
I've had a few close shaves with a bic stokey ?????.
11 Aug 2025 22:39:09
DTP - my last post was written slightly tongue-in-cheek mate, but not totally so. As Winter will testify, the coastal areas of Cornwall are buzzing in the summer and then become ghost towns in the winter due to the amount of 2nd home ownership. The younger Cornish generally move away from the county to find affordable homes and non-seasonal jobs. Hence, the older generation is taking over Cornwall. Yes, I do love it here as it is beautiful and I do embrace it! But, it is certainly not perfect for the locals I can assure you.
11 Aug 2025 22:46:27
DTP mate, I always try to cut a short story long if I can!
???.
12 Aug 2025 08:14:24
And you're usually very successful in doing so Stokey.
12 Aug 2025 10:18:40
DTP, I must admit I’m always worried about cutting myself on my razor sharp wit……. ( only joking ) ??.
12 Aug 2025 10:23:09
As a sequel to the near miss with the TV, I wouldn’t have minded but they were watching “ Sudden Impact “ on it at the time………. ???
Mind you when the Met knocked their door down shortly afterwards it was defiant “Homes Under the Hammer “……. ??
As you might have guessed, this sequel is entirely untrue and inserted for comedic purposes only ( we did bust their door in though……)

Lego I'll leave this for you to translate.
An dornow kepar ha gath an yeth ha'n gath, ny'redhow gans an now ha del an gath, yth esa an gath a vynn dhe hwir, yth es a'n invasi an illega ow kelwel dre an chann, an gath a vynn dhe goll an yeth Sa.
Kernow forever ?☠️?☠️?.
12 Aug 2025 13:21:18
Lego, I’ll just say this about your neck of the woods mate….
In the Police, once you done your training and a 2 year Probationary period you could apply for transfer to another Force. Devon and Cornwall had a massive waiting list of applications, with a waiting time of several years. It’s got to a great place to live and work.
12 Aug 2025 13:41:11
Haha Stokey growing up we had one copper for about a 30 mile radius, it was like the wild west??.
12 Aug 2025 13:46:34
And the local police station doubled as his house, basically a cottage with cells in an outdoor shed, the cells had a capacity of two?.
When the fishing fleet was home you could garentee they were maxed out. ?.
12 Aug 2025 15:41:45
Proper community policing with consent! I’m all for it mate! ????.
12 Aug 2025 17:59:20
I'm sure that I've posted before that, unlike me, Mrs Legolas is 'proper Cornish' - part of the original Celtic Pengelly clan. After a wine or two, she sometimes laments at how the Cornwall she grew up in 50+ years ago has changed so much for the worse. Of course it is still beautiful and the locals (what's left of them) are lovely people when you make the effort to get to know them. However, I agree with her when she says that the massive increase in 2nd homes in Cornish coastal regions, combined with the abject poverty that locals go through within Cornwall's inland areas, has 'taken the shine' out of what was (to her) the perfect place to live. We'll be staying here though!
12 Aug 2025 18:22:17
I went down last summer to catch up with family and have a nose, Porthleven is pretty much unrecognisable for just 10 years ago. Its now completely full of second homes, art shops and frankly s**ty tourist aimed businesses like restaurants that most locals would need a second mortgage to eat in.
In another fifty years or so those of proper Kernow bloodlines with be all but extinct. Its a sad state of affairs but its not just my home county, wales is going through similar around the coasts. ?.
12 Aug 2025 18:26:50
Its basically a gradual erosion of native culture, legal ethic cleansing?.
12 Aug 2025 19:48:10
I'm so glad that you mention the phase 'ethnic cleansing' Winter. I thought about writing it last night, but decided that I better not. Given my past life in Bosnia in the 90's experiencing the most extreme variant of the phrase first hand - I think what has happened/ is still happening in Cornwall has exactly the same effect, but without the violence. A displacement of the Cornish locals from their homes to be replaced by the affluent, older generation mostly from the South East is, in effect, ethnic cleansing. I feel very sorry for the Cornish. (I better not show this post to Mrs Legolas or she'll paint her face blue and end up burning down numerous holiday homes in the Looe/ Polperro area! ).
12 Aug 2025 21:41:15
Lol good on her, i was tempted last summer, after several Rattlers you know. Anything can happen??☠️?☠️?.
