Harvey Elliot in the Liverpool Echo:-
"I want to improve and be the best possible version of myself. If that's to go somewhere else, then it's a decision that I'm going to have to make and I just need to see what happens.

"Nothing makes me want to leave. I love the club, I love the fans, the team.

"I support them, as well. But most importantly, it's always just about what's best for my career. "

The Athletic said, "The Reds reportedly want €46.5m+ with a buy-back option included, or as much as €58m+ without. The 22-year-old is thought to be eyeing regular football at an elite level and could even look to go abroad. Liverpool have already spent €213.7m on Florian Wirtz (€125m), Milos Kerkez (€46.9m) and Jeremie Frimpong (€40m) this summer, so would likely be hoping to recoup some funds this transfer window. "

Sounds like a spend. Can we afford it? Is he as good or better than Elanga?

My opinion Cyclist is that Elliott is a very good player but worth no where near that amount of money.
25m yes, go try and get him but no more.

Its definitely an interesting one cyclist, he's a good player with a hefty price tag.
He could thrive with us and would only get better, MGW, Ando, CHO and Elliot sounds good on paper and with them all being English would fantastic.

Also seems like we're after a like for like replacement for Elenga, from what I've read we're already looking at Johan Bakayoko from PSV.

06 Jul 2025 11:01:58
I think Bakayoko is the more direct replacement too. The other side of that coin is that we have been too predictable.

I'd go for Elliot for nearer £40M, but only if we can still afford 2 full backs and probably one other quick attacker. The problem is none of us know how much we can afford to spend without seeing the books in detail.

If the sales of Turner, Danilo, maybe Awoniyi that tiny midfielder and perhaps a couple of other fringe players like Sosa go through, we might have more money than we think. I do suspect what we add to the coffers in sales and whether we are "lucky" on that front is the key.

I do feel as though something different like Elliot could give us the flexibility and depth we are missing. It could be another player, but Elliot is one possibility. It doesn't feel like a Forest signing under the current recruitment regimen/ formula though.

We've got ten million from the sale of the Irish lad
Soon see players being signed with jair cunha next.

06 Jul 2025 18:00:04
10 million, have I missed something here, thought it was 5 million? Btw can someone inspire me on cunha. Know ef all about the laddie. Let's bring a brazilian academy. Gone is the hope for our young hopeful.

06 Jul 2025 18:55:14
Cunha is 6feet 5 and looks the part already played in a champions winning side in Brazil, he's certainly not academy material
Done more than murillo had when we signed him.

06 Jul 2025 21:01:26
DTP is spot on, Real Madrid wanted him but Mr Ms man love relationship with Textor got us there first.

06 Jul 2025 21:06:39
And @Bowie Mr M has invested into the Botafogo academy.

06 Jul 2025 23:28:52
It's true, Marinackers is investing in the Botafogo academy. Reading between the lines, it looks like Botofogo are basically going to act as a feeder club for Forest and Olympiacos and make £££s to remain a top South American side. We should get 1st dibs on future products of their academy.

Jair Cunha came through the famous Santos youth system (as did Pele and Neymar). He played about 20 games for Santos and was snapped up by Botafogo for 12M Euros. Quickly became a regular for the Copa Libertadores and Brazilian champions and is currently listed as their most valuable player on Tranfermarkt (previously it was Igor Jesus I think).

Jesus and Jair Cunha are winners.
