Does anyone think Gareth Southgate deserves a knighthood?
I certainly don't as he actually won nothing.

I'm sure Southgate is a good man, but even he would find it hard to tell you what he's achieved to get a Knighthood!.

The wrong people get knighthoods for doing very little other than being famous.

I know what your saying guys. But since he has left, results seem to have got worse.
He got England to two major finals a semi final and a quarter final in 4 campaigns. In twenty years I have a feeling people will look back and find that impressive. Between 1970 and 2016, our best performance was 2 semi finals in 24 campaigns. When you go by results his record was impressive. His in game management in the most crucial games let him down. IMO.
Bobby Robson got knighted for one semi in 4 campaigns. Didn't qualify for Euro 84 and lost every game in 88. No idea what Walter Winterbottom did to merit one.
I was born the year after Englqsnd won the world cup. I wouldn't be optimistic about that achievement being repeated in my lifetime.

Wasn't a perrsonal attack on Bobby.
Just stating the facts, putting things in perspective. Bottom line Southgate had a more successful tenure than Sur Bobby, as England manager.
Granted he had a much better managerial record overall.
Though a lot of people have questioned over the years how he got the England job, when there was a much more qualified candidate around at the time managing a certain Nottingham Forest.
I am sure Stokesy does know better btw.

Again 67, robson got it for his overall contribution to football. Not missing a stonewaller pen and managing smoggys. And stokey doesn't know everything, but sure he's googling now how Hitler took bayern Munich to the fa cup. Stats and tats my friend stats and tats.
