So the premier league are discussing abolishing the points deduction fiasco, as much as I would welcome the change and the 4 points back it just proves that the Arab owners are running the show. I mean heavens above they can’t Man City in the conference can they, what would the rest of the world think.

To be replaced with a luxury tax whatever that is let's look after the Arabs etc, first Man City should be found guilty for their 115 transgressions 1 point for every Million ?.

{Ed001's Note - if it is a luxury tax the same as it works in the NBA, then the team over the threshold pays into an account that gets shared out between the clubs who stay within the rules at the end of each season. So it gives the ones not going over the limit extra money to spend the following season. Would be a fairer way to do it.

Man City's case is not relevant as they will be tried under the rules at the time they broke them, not as they will be by the time it is resolved.}

Thanks Ed 1 I agree with your analysis.
Red Vale, I think the current points deduction system has caused unexpected consequences and is universally unpopular ( not just the Emirates ( ie Arab ) sponsors but with the American Owners ( 4 of the big 6 are American owned I think).
The system has upset everyone, the Premier League because it would no longer attract the best players in the World and make it the showpiece and most lucrative, the Agents because the last thing they want is zero transfer window activity ( as happened over the last window), the various people with their snouts in the trough and the players because clubs cut back on wages and fees etc.
I think, basically, the system was brought in to appease and fend off Government interference and regulation but in the process has gone against various wealthy and powerful vested interests ( never a good idea ).

We must include Newcastle in the top elite, there owners Saudi royals want it calling the top seven not the top six, as they believe they have a right to be included. With all that money I don't know why they don't just go ahead with that super league and try and let the rest of us get on with it without one hand tied behind our backs.
