I’ve said this before, but for the game against Luton we need to put Murillo in midfield or play a back three if he is to stay in defence. It’s not a slant on Murillo as I think he is our best player! I think he can do Yates job better than Than Yates himself. And it’s not rocket science to know that most of our conceded goals are coming from set pieces and headers. This I think is due to the fact that Murillos Achilles heel is his height and heading ability. Luton score a lot of headers because of tall strong forwards and set pieces. Murillo in midfield seems a stupid comment but I think it could be stroke of genius on Nunos part. My team to play Luton

Murillo would look like a fish out of water in midfield
We have plenty of midfielders
It would just be like playing origi as a winger, keep it simple and put players in their proper position and not try putting square pegs in round holes
No time to experiment.

Spent last couple of games moaning bout players being played out of positions

Murillo is a CB not a CM!

People said Bale wasn't a Winger. just say'n.

Not for me.

Matty Cash!. To big a game for experimenting, could work great or it could be a Niakate, and the player himself must fancy it.

I’ve said it before many times as well Ace. You are spot on mate. I’d play Murillo as part of a back 3 but with licence to step into midfield like John Stones does at Man City. With the height and experience of Felipe and Boly with him he’d be even more of a revelation than he is know, a tremendous player.
We all know how Luton are going to play. An aggressive and combative midfield with everything coming through Doughty and Barclay, fast wingers and loads of crosses into the box for Morrison and Adebayo, both a handful and big lads. I’ve watched them a few times this season and will watch them tonight at Bournemouth. Nuno isn’t a fool, and he knows what’s coming. Hopefully, he ll do what SC would have done and get himself to Bournemouth to see it first hand.
I’d go 351 which becomes 541 out of possession.
So Anoniyi up top, 2 wingers CHO and Elanga supported by 2 wingbacks bombing forwards and 3 central midfielders Yates, Dominguez and Sanghere.
Most importantly everyone has to fight like the 3rd dog walking up the ramp into Noah’s Ark when the rain has started to fall………….

Meant MGW not Sanghere. He’d be back up starting on the bench with Niakhate, Reyna, Origi Wood etc
By the way, anybody remember Kenny Burns back in the day? Courtesy of the innovative genius of Clough and Taylor.
Modern day you’d think of Declan Rice and Eric Dyer both capable of playing CB and DMF Rice is in fact probably one of the best in the world atm.

Murillo could play in midfield.

It might take it me to learn the nuances of a different position, but every single thing I have seen about the kid says he could play higher up the pitch. No question.

A better question might be would it be a good time to learn a new position when you are in a 10 game relegation dogfight where every point is crucial? No, but I'd definitely start playing him higher up the pitch pre-season and sometimes in training. Why not have a look at how fast he adapts. Murillo adapted to English football VERY quickly, didn't he?
