Unfortunately had to sit in the hull end yesterday as my friend is a hull supporter (not a clue why) and got me a ticket, so I couldn’t really be too happy when we scored. Forest fans were immense, were at lest 10 times louder than any hull fans, such a quiet bunch. Anyway, I thought we controlled the game very very well yesterday without being spectacular going forward.

Robinson in the first was free almost every time down the left side and if he could have been picked out more then we could have scored more. Glad we got the win today because we deserved it. Villa will be a tough game next but I expect us to win there too. Come on you reds!

Just got back off holiday and used East Midlands airport. While I was there, there were two men in forest suits looking like they were waiting for somebody. Not sure if it was for a player or member of staff but just thought I’d pass this on. Potentially a new singing ?

Soudani coming in for his medical.

2.) 24 Jun 2018 20:52:32
Ah that makes sense then! Thanks Gazza

3.) 24 Jun 2018 21:10:50
I notice Soudani plays with a No. 2 on his back - closet right back? Seems a cracking player.

4.) 24 Jun 2018 23:41:11
Forest "suits" that will be Robin and Little John in their Lincoln Green then picking up "The Friar" aka Soudani the man who will be condeming sheep to purgatory?
COYR's

5.) 25 Jun 2018 05:15:39
Hopefully it is soudani and I hope he tears the league apart.
Would love to see him band in 3 against fwanks sheep.

11 Jun 2018 22:16:55
3 signings to be concluded by Saturday - Goncalves, Carvalho and Soudani. Max Clark will follow once he isn’t back off his holiday.
I then expect us to sign another full back that can play both lb and rb. A gk. at least 1 cm potentially 2 (Marney and Colback most likely) then the Scunthorpe winger could join too. AK will also make a decision on which
other striker he wants Marriott, Hugill and kodjia are on his wish list.
In terms of outgoings I expect to see Lichaj, mance, Kapino, McKay, Grant, Clough, Walker, vellios, Murphy then at least one of Worrall or Osborn.
Forest hoping to bring in around 12 million in sales minimum while spending up to 25-30 million.

2.) 12 Jun 2018 05:46:15
Daddies and HP?😊

3.) 12 Jun 2018 13:54:30
Nice compilation of all those linked to the club already _TheRedMan_ slow day at the office is it LOL

4.) 13 Jun 2018 11:46:11
Could do with a decent RB if Lichaj has gone, Darikwa is rubbish.

2 signings imminent! Confirmed either later today or tomorrow!

1.) 01 Jun 2018 17:07:36
Sarah Clapson is behind the times then, nothing on her webchat.

2.) 01 Jun 2018 21:24:01
She needs to change her name?
Her son won't stand a chance 😂😂😂

3.) 01 Jun 2018 22:02:37
According to a couple of people her marks for Forest players means she talks Claptrap.l

4.) 02 Jun 2018 12:41:16
She’s been saying we could do worse than bring back Olly Burke. I know many of you would disagree but I think it would be a great signing. Ten times the player than the likes of Brereton, probably way out of our price range now.

5.) 03 Jun 2018 00:32:08
We should be looking at Dean Henderson Man U keeper been on loan at Shrewsbury he is very good IMO. Norwich have been linked with him.

A lot of people moan about our style of play which I agree is a fairly boring style. While we haven’t yet had a great run of games we’ve won, we’ve still picked up points we wouldn’t have done last year.
Here’s my question to the other posters in this site:
Would you rather get promoted playing the way we currently play? Or finish 10th (just as an example) but have exciting high scoring games? (Where we might win 3-2 one game but then lose 3-0 another)
Because I honestly want to see our club back in the big time and if that means we play a defensive style of football then so be it.

_TheRedMan_

1.) 24 Oct 2018 06:40:46
For me red man l would take promotion with any style of play, but in my opinion we won't. The fear for me that if we did and we carried on the way we are cannot see us lasting more than a season. Obviously we would have to invest very heavily, and the price of decent players is great. Would the same players we have hack it in the premier, wolves are doing it but we don't have the same mindset as them. Cardiff and Fulham as yet have a long way to go, but what l don't want to beat , the record set by our neighbors Derby, That would be humiliating and how deep are our owners pockets.

2.) 24 Oct 2018 06:50:22
Playing either way isn’t happening at the min is it? He’s being too negative an still we concede too many chances and we don’t seem to even want to attack teams after going in front, so I’d take a totally different style which is try and play football at all times when winning or losing and that’s defending as a team and going forward as a team.

3.) 24 Oct 2018 07:08:59
Can you honestly see us getting promoted with our win rate?
Think we'd all accept boring football if we could at least win a few on the trott.
We are only one point better off than last season and have spent 25 million in the process.
There is no progression unless he starts a winning run, draws and the odd win aren't good enough.

4.) 24 Oct 2018 08:06:40
Trouble is there is no chance of us being promoted playing the way we are goals and clean sheets win you promotion not bored fans and players

5.) 24 Oct 2018 08:28:03
Redman we've only got 1 point more than this time last season we're mid table playing awful football at home , we need to get 6 points from our next 3 games to equal last season's stats , unless Karanka changes the style of play at home then mid table is inevitable in a season where this league is very winnable . this division is always tight but this season it looks even tighter i.e. if Bolton in 18th win tonight they will have the same number of points as us , we are no further forward than we were last season.

6.) 24 Oct 2018 08:59:22
Just to get promoted I would accept a less than exciting style just at the moment it’s not very exciting and it’s not getting us enough wins hope it changes I think we will win tonight.

7.) 24 Oct 2018 10:03:31
Their is a beligerance and arrogance about AK that should come with a great track record. His track record is not accepting responsibility and talking nonsense. No doubt the back four will change again tonight. Pants will still be in goal and the 3 amigos will feature in the squad. Bolton will be big and strong and unlike us at home will lay seige to our goal. Will we be up to it? Will AK surprise us in his selection???
Promotion to the elite you need complete unity on the pitch. We have spent 25mil and it does not show. So would you trust AK to spend the required millions in the prem??? Not a chance

8.) 24 Oct 2018 10:03:31
Surely there has been improvements because last season at this point we’d lost too many games through playing a similar sort of style. This season we’re still not trying to go for the win but defensively we have been a lot better than under warbs. I think it’s steady progression we need. I take a top 10 finish this season then next summer all we’d need to do would be to sign 4/5 proven championship players (GK, CDM, CB, winger and striker) I think then we’d have a serious chance at promotion.
Admittedly I aren’t a fan of the football we’re playing but I’ll still get behind the team and the manager because if you don’t it creates negativity and that can sometimes be the worst thing for a club.

9.) 24 Oct 2018 10:20:59
Redman the team that AK inherited was not a disaster. Just needed a few strong editions. 25 million would have been suffucient in any other managers budget to fit the missing links. The truth is he has only added confusion. The basis was there and he blew it by bringing in numbers and panic off loading of seasoned pro's. He created the overhaul and one year down the line we are so inconsistant and one dimensional it hurts.

10.) 24 Oct 2018 10:30:48
Redman we have already spent 25 million,we can't just go out and spend another 25 in the summer.
We'd have to try and get rid of at least half the players he's already signed, which would mean karanka has made a mistake buying them in the first place.

11.) 24 Oct 2018 10:34:07
You can't sit back and try and win a game from 1nil up when you haven't got the goalie or the defence to do the job it's bloody stupid we have plenty of attacking players so use the team that way until January when we can get back up good win tonight could take us back into top 6 so not to bad at the minute

12.) 24 Oct 2018 10:58:34
Just read an artical in todays daily mail about our owner flying in to read the riot act to one and all at the club he believes we should get automatic promotion with the money spent i hope he left ak and the players in no doubt what will be required.

13.) 24 Oct 2018 11:02:17
Hi Redman,
With this owner I would prefer any style of play that gets us into the premiership as I really believe the owner would then invest big time to keep us there.
Previous owners then prefer to stay in this league as have no confidence the investment would have been made.
Only my opinion.

14.) 24 Oct 2018 14:16:31
I never said we had to spend another 25 million did I? No.
I just suggested the positions we need to improve. Our striker position could be improved by signing someone like Solanke from Liverpool on loan for a season or two (just an example off top of my head not sayin I’d sign him) or sign someone like Tomlin over a striker.
You can get good quality players without paying ridiculous sums of money.
While I think some of the signings AK has made I still feel we could and should have bought smarter than we did.

Mickn - I totally agree, if we get to the prem with this owner he’ll provide money to sign quality players. I just hope we can get promotion by next seasons

15.) 24 Oct 2018 16:16:38
We've got the players to go out and attack. But karanka as not got the balls to risk playing this way.
When we have gone out and played on front foot high pressing and one holding midfielder. We've looked a different team. But then karanka goes back to his defensive style

16.) 24 Oct 2018 16:32:32
We won't be any where near promotion playing this way pal.

17.) 24 Oct 2018 18:17:18
Boro top of the league having failed to score a goal at home for 3 matches and lost to us though we are apparently so crap. There is no one walking away with it this season which should make it very interesting. All the favourites are win one lose one

19 Sep 2018 22:03:50
And most of you said carvalho is a waste of 13million.
Bet you’ll all be saying how good he is now.
I’ve said from the start he’s a good quality player and needs a games to acclimatise to the league. That goal will do him the world of good and will show even more quality now.

_TheRedMan_

1.) 19 Sep 2018 22:24:01
Level above.

2.) 19 Sep 2018 22:26:49
Up until his goal I thought he was a total passenger that looked lightweight with the game passing him by.
Took his goal really well though and hopefully we'll see more of what he can do now.
Still think Dias is a far bigger threat going forward though.

3.) 19 Sep 2018 22:53:39
He wasn’t in it in the first half but grew in to the game and showed his quality

4.) 19 Sep 2018 22:54:43
See I disagree there Fred as he moves about the pitch and can be hard to pick up.
From the first time I saw the portuguese lads I thought they were quality,Bournemouth they looked superb,I like their pace and movement, not sure the older players are on their wavelength at times and that might be your problem with him ??

5.) 19 Sep 2018 23:05:38
Agree Fred- Dias looks loads better with Janko behind him - 10 decent mins isn’t enough to sell him to me in one hit but I felt there was promise tonight. I was cursing carvalho but he really grew into the game late in the first half and I had a feeling he’d have a good second half. Still seems like we have another couple of gears that we don’t know we have !

6.) 19 Sep 2018 23:34:46
Colback was our best player did all the nasty horrible stuff 1st half especially;Red Fred correct in my opinion, TIL the goal carvallhio had been a passenger but his goal was a glimpse of the quality he possesses hope now we see more and more of it

7.) 20 Sep 2018 06:32:23
thought he went missing in the 1st half but 2nd half when he found space and was aloud to run at the defence we saw what he is capable of, he should be the type of player that grabs the game by the scruff of the neck and bosses it but personally i still wanna see more before i make a judgement on him

8.) 20 Sep 2018 10:32:21
Yeah, Carvalho was quiet early on but grew into the game and his link-up with Osborn for the goal was special.

This kid needs to play as often as possible, he makes things happen, we look a better attacking force with him in the side and he'll only get better as he develops and acclimatizes to Championship football.

9.) 20 Sep 2018 11:03:47
Some of you lot watching a different player to me.

He wants the posession a bit quicker than he's getting. He ain't a passenger, he's just waiting for the ball.

When he gets it, he's a step ahead. Class act.

10.) 20 Sep 2018 11:41:19
Cjay,When he’s not got the ball he’s a passenger whether it’s his fault or not, and let’s not get carried away 1good finish in 8 games doesn’t make him messi, so calm down and let’s see if he can start influencing games that’s what you pay 13mlll for at championship level,I know your always right and everyone else wrong but let’s wait and see how his season develops

11.) 20 Sep 2018 12:04:42
When he hasn't got the ball, he's either trying to shake markers or he's pressing the opposition to get it back.

He's a 13 million pound player, teams won't give him space to breathe. At worst he's occupying 2 opposition players creating space for others.

Passenger, nope.

12.) 20 Sep 2018 12:57:16
Cjay think it’s you that’s been watching a different player , teams have had far more trouble containing cash than carvallhio

13.) 21 Sep 2018 09:38:44
Stevie I don’t think that’s the case. Carvalho draws players to him mainly full backs and holding midfielders, this provides space for out wingers (cash!!) so they then influence the game with a goal a good ball into the box etc.

08 Sep 2018 10:17:54
I actually the signing of Janko will benefit us because he’s a very attacking full back as is Osborn. I believe we will see a chance in tactics that allows the full backs to act as the side options allowing the two wingers to play as inside forwards to support the striker and the CAM (Carvalho). The two cdms (whoever they may be, my preference would be Geddy when fit and Yacob) as it would allow Yacob to drop back to form a back 3 while attacking and then Geddy can be the box to box midfielder that does a bit of everything. I believe that this would work a treat for us! We wouldnscore plenty and be fairly solid at the back.
My team then -
Pants / Steele (been fairly impressed with Steele tbh)
Janko
Hefele
Fox
Osborn
Yacob
Geddy
Cash
Carvalho
Lolley
Murphy.
Subs - Pants/ Steele, Figs, Darikwa, Greek CDM, Dias, Goncalves and Grabban.
I actually think this system would suit Dias as it would allow him to take players in and use his pace to run and the defence while having support. But cash and Lolley start for me based in form.

_TheRedMan_

1.) 08 Sep 2018 14:33:53
Osborn is not a left back. The defence would be weaker with him there.

2.) 08 Sep 2018 16:34:12
Agreed psycho. I can't believe any forest supporter still thinks Osborn can play left back.
I like Ben but left back. Noooo!

26 Aug 2018 11:54:38
If we are letting Brereton go then I would like to see us sign Dominic Solanke on loan. I personally think he’s a good all round striker and although he only scored a few last season for Liverpool he didn’t play many minutes as most of his appearances were 10 min cameos at the end of the game.
I reckon he’d do a solid job in this league and would bag 15+ goals.

_TheRedMan_

1.) 26 Aug 2018 16:56:47
Liverpool would probably swap him for Brereton?

In fairness carvalho has played quite well imo, always looks for a key pass and can dribble to not to mention his work rate.
He just needs a bit more time to adapt and then I’m sure the goals and assists will start rolling in

I’m with nick on that one. Just because they don’t score or assist doesn’t mean they’re not good players. All of the Portuguese lads have very good work rates and you need that in this league so give them one to find their feet a bit more and the goals will come.
But until then at least get behind them and not slag them off

Reece Oxford - kid is going to be quality
McDonald - good at this level. Would prefer johansen from Fulham
Bonatini - we need another striker and for me he’s good at championship level

Wouldn’t say no to a winger (would like Jamal Lowe from Portsmouth but doubt it will ever happen, pave power and decent end product) and another defender (as much as we should aim higher I would take Tyler Blackett, can play LB and CB so decent back up)

I’ve watched him quite a lot for our youth teams as well as in the England set up. He’s a class above the rest for his age and the level he’s playing at. Currently I would say he could definitely cut it at this level if he gets game time (maybe a loan to a smaller club) and depending on how he performs in this division will tell us the standard he’ll be at in 3 years. I’d like to think in 3 years we’re in the top flight and he’s our best player with a lot of big clubs interested for big money but he’ll turn them down because forest.

You can’t just replace all the attacking trio. The midfield 3 as you gave it will get knackered if they’re running around constantly. No way Osborn starts in midfield.
Pants (should be Steele but won’t happeb)
Darikwa
Hef
Robinson
Osborn (Robinson if Fig is back from suspension then fig cb)
Yacob
Colback
Cash
Carvalho
Lolley
Grabban

Ansarifrad and Geddy to come on for certain then maybe osbrob if he doesn’t start
