Sorry guys had a very senior moment hit the post button before completing.

So start again
Keep hearing on here about a big clear out but MON will be restricted as to who he can jettison prior to the new season.
As i see it the following players contract are up end of June 2019,
Pele
Bonatini
Colback
Janko
Goncalves
Ward
Wague
Henderson
Fuentes
The following year june 2020
Ansarifard
Yacob
Osborn
Murphy
Bridcutt
Robinson
Dawson
Watson
Benalouane
Guedioura
Milosevic
Steele
There is a further eleven two years after that.
With this in mind how will this restrict MON getting in the players he wants for his own style of football.

mickn

1.) 14 Apr 2019 20:43:18
I'm not sure all of those players contracts expire this summer. Some of them are here for longer I think.

2.) 14 Apr 2019 20:52:16
Here's the list that need to go
Pants
Steele
Smith
Henderson
Heffle
Wague
Byrom
Dawson
Beneloun
Osborn
Clough
Pele
Concalves
Yates
Colback
Bridcutt
Geddy
Watson
Ward
Cummings
Murphy
Grant
Soudani
Anserfarad
Bonatini
Ariybi
Plus youngsters like gomis and edserand quite a few others that are twenty plus and simply won't make it
That's that's twenty six players and yet some think we had a good squad?
That's a squad in itself and basically is crap, either too old, injury prone or simply not good enough

3.) 14 Apr 2019 21:33:00
Blimey Ff who you going to play 😀😀

4.) 14 Apr 2019 21:45:00
FFS , that’s some list - but you’re right !

5.) 14 Apr 2019 23:01:31
2 star me and you have seen this lot all season, how much have they let us down? And what would you get for them in the transfer market?
It's an appalling squad just thrown together without a care for the future.

6.) 15 Apr 2019 04:41:14
You are so right ff79.
I still think oneil is the man to flush out this squad. His type of player are grafters and winners. Remember his teams at leicester the likes of steve walsh, matt elliot, taggart, robbie savage, neil lennon etc. Not the best of players but massive in character. Oneil was not liked in his first year at Leicester either. whether those characters still exist in the modern game is another question????

7.) 15 Apr 2019 06:26:24
All well and good getting those type of players in Rutland but it ain’t 1992 anymore.when oneill gets the sack the new more modern coach/manager has a load of players with no flair or forward thinking and will have to overhaul the team again.a more modern manager would be able to turn this team with a few tweaks into a decent team and a lot of manager would love to have the squad we have.
Ff nice of you to say it was thrown together,so does that mean karanka was a good manager to have us up there in 5th at one point and then just before leaving a couple of points out of the playoffs?
You also moaned about the football and was happy when he got sacked, are you being entertained now?
Be careful what you wish for

8.) 15 Apr 2019 07:09:03
We were going knowhere under karanka and this squad will go knowhere under any manager.
Simply a squad of has beens,if it's so good Sutton we should be able to get a fair bit for them in the transfer market.lol
The squad lacks pace, has four poor goalkeepers, half are always injured and most lack any ambition to do well.

9.) 15 Apr 2019 07:15:15
Ff, Soudani was a good player for us untill his injury, whether or not he becomes injury prone who knows.

Bonatini is proven at Championship level and just needs some games to get up to speed.

Aririby has speed, and can score, he has not been given a chance, if his speed can be harnessed he ckuld be a good Championship player.

Yates is one for the future, if he is used properly he will save the club a lot of money in the future.

10.) 15 Apr 2019 09:05:09
Sutton so those sort of players didn’t work for Cardiff last year , Lincoln this year and Burnley for about the last 6 years then? Seem to remember Burnley getting Into the europa league 2ssasons ago with ‘those sort of players “

11.) 15 Apr 2019 09:12:25
Steve Bruce, allardyce and warnock have all had ongoing success with a brand of football. It can be done with the right players.

I know we’ve got zero reason to trust in the judgement of ‘the club’ but we must try and do so. If we drive O Meol out now it’s going to be a disaster. I didn’t want AK to go and I didn’t think MON was the right appointment to optimise that squad that we have. We need to unite rather than pursue a Pyrrhic victory on who was right or wrong about AK’s departure . I can’t believe that with the right players we won’t have a chance in the 2nd tier of football under MON.

We liked AK because we were quite hard to beat but let’s be honest the football wasn’t great just as it wasn’t under warbo. It’d be better to stop calling the style of football as that isn’t the issue in my opinion. If I do question MON it’s more along the lines of the team he selects because actually I do think we have 11 O Neil type players at the club now. Personally I think a lot of the barracking stems from leaving out Carvalho. He doesn’t have what it takes and would have sat out games under AK too.

12.) 15 Apr 2019 09:45:59
If our current form lasts the next 4 games MON will be gone. Wouldn’t surprise me if Marinakis hasn’t already started looking. He wants success and will be ruthless until he gets it.

13.) 15 Apr 2019 11:02:29
No doubt perks .

14.) 15 Apr 2019 11:34:39
I think that style belongs in the past, you say some managers have success with it when they have the right players, we have not got the right players and Martin is still getting the team to play it.

That just does not make sense.

15.) 15 Apr 2019 11:53:51
It doesn’t make sense bringing him in LC. I don’t think he’s playing a hand he doesn’t have I think he’s playing the only way he knows. That’s where the club misjudged things a bit I think.

16.) 15 Apr 2019 12:16:04
After the clamour to play Yates, are we writing him off already?

17.) 15 Apr 2019 12:09:58
2star, That is a very good point.

18.) 15 Apr 2019 16:04:07
I am scouse - he’s not good enough mate

19.) 15 Apr 2019 16:06:07
Scouse Yates a young lad but his 1st touch doesn’t inspire, it’s a pass at the moment

Last time we played Ipswich on Dec 1st ( we were I believe) 5th in the table.
The football was entertaining to watch, we were scoring goals from all areas though Grabban was on fire. I believe most on this site was satisfied with what they were seeing. We had up to that point lost only two league game although we had drawn far to many. Then a week later we appoint a director of football and Karanka throws a wobbly, results go to pot and he leaves. A coincidence? Maybe but who can say, but it was all rather strange. Was the DOF micro managing? again hard to say but cannot see MON putting up with it and will certainly see in the close season and when the transfer market opens up again.
MON has to be given the time as he has numerous players to move out in order to play the game his way and this will not be an easy task as he not only has past Karaka players to shift but also Warburtons.
My thoughts are that he will will need at least a full season to get a settled team and then the following season will be the push for promotion.
All this providing we do not find ourselves in a relegation battle then it becomes a different scenario. The big question of course is will the owners be patient enough. let's hope so.

1.) 18 Mar 2019 16:09:34
There is no doubt that there was a definite change in Mr Karanka's attitude following this match as his interview that evening, which was there for all too see, made that fairly obvious and although the good ship Forest was sailing along in reasonably calm waters I would have to say that I wasnt finding the football,in particular at home to be entertaining bar the odd few spells here and there.

As to the reasons and exactly what his issues were we will probably never know unless he decides to write a book and even then confidentiality agreements may well still apply but quite frankly it really doesn't matter and it is consigned to history

With regard to the current management team one would hope they conducted their own " due diligence " to see exactly what the terms and conditions they were working to because like you I would like to see a line drawn in the sand re the managerial merry go round and give Messrs O'neill and Keane the time and backing they feel they need providing of course that all four wheels do not fall off for them.

This season is still far from over but IF we start to string a few results together then the question of our readiness for promotion will become a hot topic on here and for the time being I will keep my powder dry on that one

2.) 18 Mar 2019 16:39:16
Just our of interest creepy do you find it entertaining now?

3.) 18 Mar 2019 16:43:17
Creepy, a different view about the AK situation is that is does matter. History is a good source of information to advise why we are where we are in many aspects of life. I think we (the forest family) do need to understand what happened because we just keep going around in circles do we not ?

4.) 18 Mar 2019 18:49:18
The most entertaining thing this season have been the officials used to have to the circus to see so many clowns , but if we was any good games should be won before the clowns make daft decisions

5.) 18 Mar 2019 18:53:29
2star,

I cannot say hand on heart that I am finding it entertaining just different. Styles of play have differed with the past three managers and it has to be said that none of it has matched up to what we would all like to see and it remains to be seen what the new management team will evolve the side into given the time.

The Forest side that Mr O'neill played in achieved success by solid defending and generally scoring on the break and it may be that this will be his preferred option which it has to be said may not appeal to a generation of fans brought up on a diet of televised football by teams costing hundreds of millions of pounds .

With regard to the Mr Karanka situation then I wholeheartedly agree with your comment that as supporters and season tickets we have a right to know what is going on even in the upper echelons of the boardroom but sadly we both know that that will never happen.

You are quite right to pull me up on my saying "it doesn't matter " and I could and should have chosen my words more carefully and phrased it differently insofar as you are quite right to say it does matter but sadly we will never fully know and yes I think that is wrong.

I suspect we are both on the same page but looking at it from different angles as many of your posts have a tendency to be quite insightful.

Hope I have answered your questions but feel free to delve further.

6.) 18 Mar 2019 19:07:46
Not being rude 2star but did post a fairly in depth reply which might have gone awol. Ill check later

7.) 18 Mar 2019 19:42:43
Just like to say what Fantastic fans we have,6000 season ticket sales is amazing!!!
And I know a few of you guys on here are among them. so big well done to you all. (I'm so jealous!!)
FTID!!!

8.) 18 Mar 2019 20:13:20
My view as well their creepy , it’s different isn’t it. I get your point too about modern football but my kids have really enjoyed this season - plenty to be Hopeful of. I do agree by the way that it’s history, I just hope we learn a bit from ours and become a little patient and let the manager build a team. I fear we won’t be able to attract good calibre again if history repeats itself. No matter what anyone thinks I think AK is a good manager, as is O Neil, both laboured with this collection of players - which is what it is a collection .

9.) 18 Mar 2019 20:30:40
How as mon not made a difference the few players for pittance he has bought in have made the defence look solid apart from keeper he did not bring in our top goal scorer as been injured lol and the bloke as only had a few months to sort Krankies mess out 😝😀

10.) 18 Mar 2019 20:45:30
Skegs

I think he has without doubt made a difference by stiffening up the back four and we have looked for the most part more solid at the back. And it has been unfortunate that our main strike threat has been injured for a while but I think the “ mess “ which you refer to,quite rightly, goes further back than Mr Karankas tenure

11.) 18 Mar 2019 21:52:40
Your right creepy it goes a long way back but krankie had the money and the chance to turn things around and he never got anywhere near project is what he called us project that's disrespect itself I expect next season we will be a totally better more experienced team under Mon and Keane top 5 you can get back to me if we aint

12.) 18 Mar 2019 21:53:15
Your quite right creepy it goes back to a thief called scholar and then Nigel doughty, who bought the club for nothing and promised everything, albeit in loans.
Then fawaz cost his family over 100 million playing Russian roulette and fifa manager.
Marinakis does have a plan,it just worries me about the impatience to get there.

13.) 18 Mar 2019 22:03:46
Daft thing is skeggs and creepy, that was a department we should not have struggled in with all the defensive players at our disposal.
Just out of curiosity, can any one name an offensive side from players we have that are fit right now?
Think you might struggle?

14.) 19 Mar 2019 11:24:06
ff

Echo answers none :)

15.) 19 Mar 2019 12:23:36
Don't know 79 I would of liked to see appiah given a go but that looks like next season now Mon as a lot of work on come summer ie getting rid of and bringing in players also trying to keep a few of our best players

16 Jan 2019 15:59:17
I sincerely hope that i am wrong but I have my reservations with this managerial appointment.
Time, for me, is no longer on my side to see once again this great club of ours back in the top level.
My concerns is that none of the three main players EM, MON and if he joins us RK have a record for showing tolerance and this could just be a caldron waiting to boil over due to the owner if he does not get results quickly and the manager if he has any form of interference.
I mentioned last October that my opinion was that AK had until Xmas to turn draws into wins and he failed to do this. I do not agree that he lost the dressing room in any way but (and again just my opinion) I believe that a DOF was forced upon him and he would not agree to this appointment and hence he walked albeit the owner did nothing to stop him due to poor results.
I read and hear comments that Slavisa Jokanovic turned us down due to salary. This to me does not make any sense seeing as it looks as if we have Roy Keane joining MON yet another salary and also just appointing a DOF. My thought are that he turned us down due to the owner wanting success on a quick turnaround and I am of the opinion that Slavisa is also not a fan of the DOF system.
I sincerely hope that the managerial team of MON is given a full season after this one to show what he can do without having the constant pressure of an owner breathing down his neck and please please let me be wrong about my thoughts and let him take us once again to great places.

1.) 16 Jan 2019 16:31:53
Someone pointed out earlier that Lolley said nothing publicly about regretting Aitor leaving Forest, yet as soon as Wagner, a previous manager of his left Huddersfield Lolley was quick to give him credit publicly.

If he was so against a DOF why did he wait so long to walk, and wait so close to a game before doing so.

Again someone said, and i agree with them, there are three sides to the situation, Aitor's view, the owners view, and the truth.

2.) 16 Jan 2019 16:44:11
Re: Salary, the rumour is the ex-Fulham guy wanted premier league wages. MON and RK will be on half of that combined. The other thing to note is that a lot of the backroon staff left with AK so their wages will be gone too. MON will have to get his team sorted, then look into the squad. I’m not blown away by this appointment but I’m confident we’re in safe and stable hands, and thankful we’ve got someone with forest in their soul in charge rather than a sellsword.

Carvalho had a fine game today. He appears to be improving as the season goes on. Then again AK stated he needed time.

They all had a good game today,I've seen the light I'm a krankie believer.
Seriously guys we are genuine challengers and I've been seriously entertained the last four games as well.
Hope,no I don't, think we'll get promotion.
Well done redinexile, you called it and it is getting better and exciting to watch.

Well thank you my friend I've just opened a bottle of wine after abstinence since September on the back of your compliment! Hic

We now seem to be getting the geometry right with the play books and tempo to play in GrabOne in. Hopefully we will not start getting kicked off the park as everyone wakes up to just how good this team can get?

Onward and Upward.
