All quite on the transfer rumours front, anyone heard anything concrete?

London-Reds

1.) 18 May 2019 13:02:05
Nothing set in stone yet.

2.) 18 May 2019 13:20:16
S_Getty, Our team has been set in Lime Stone, they are slow footed, and break when under pressure. 🤣

3.) 19 May 2019 12:45:58
There's never anything concrete until it's officially announced by the club. A lot of rumours are lazy journalists putting two and two together and coming up with 76 but it's close enough so it's worth a story.

4.) 19 May 2019 13:55:31
London-reds , we only want hardened championship players , non of those worn out planks and those with glass legs .

5.) 20 May 2019 20:29:10
Let's hope that, come the end of the season we've done so much cheering that we all have gravelly voices.

27 Dec 2018 15:33:05
Are the Ed's able to cast any light on the sacking rumours? Ridiculous decision if true - he needs time now to filter the squad down and build on it.

London-Reds

{Ed001's Note - I have not heard anything sorry, but Marinakis is well known for being trigger happy and impulsive.}

1.) 27 Dec 2018 17:16:07
It's a two year job to rebuild and get out of this League, maybe even longer. If we keep swapping managers we'll get nowhere. I wonder did our new illustrious DoF have any say in the team choices, tactics and subs that have lost us the last 2 games? They don't feel like AK decisions to me. We were doing ok till after the Ipswich game and if it has all unravelled because of the owner's decisions ans interference then there's your answers to what is going on.

2.) 27 Dec 2018 18:44:08
So if you're blaming Dog for interfering in the last two games maybe you can explain the other games we have lost or thrown away leads. Fact is AK is too rigid with just one formation. Bizarre substitutions, players in odd positions, his lack of touchline activity. Unable to put any kind of winning run together. 18months and still no nearer to any kind of consistency. Don't see any point in giving him two more games. Players coming out supporting him means nothing. Didn't several Man Utd players come out supporting Mourinho yet lo and behold he goes and suddenly they begin picking up results. Those wanting AK to stay are deluded. This bloke isn't getting us into the Premier and even if he did, he is not capable of keeping us in there

3.) 27 Dec 2018 18:53:46
26, A lot of people like Warnock because of his record for getting teams promoted but i see his team are struggling to stay in the PL, let's just worry about getting in it first.

Chaps,

In light of comments from the boss, I was wondering what your thoughts for the next transfer window are?

For me Pantillimon, Figueiredo, Colback and Tomlin should all be pushed for. I also expect us to sign Dawson which would give us a strong selection of centrebacks (Figueiredo, Dawson, Fox and Worrall) . I also think we need a real predatory striker, I'm hoping for Jordan Rhodes. Yes, he has had a poor season but he is mustard at this level. From within I'd be very hopeful that McKay kicks on as Lolley one side and McKay the other would be very attractive to watch.

I do wonder what long term role the boss has in mind for Osborn. Maybe left back but he isn't a natural, despite his work ethic. I also expect Mancienne to leave along with Hobbs, Vaughan and Cohen to move into a permanent coaching role. Can't imagine Smith is feeling the love either.

London-Reds

1.) 21 Mar 2018 22:29:34
No no no not Jordan Rhoads.
Only scored 13 goals in last two seasons, can't hold the ball up to bring the midfield into play and is we'll past his sell by date, hopefully his daft wages will put us off.
Been no good since his Blackburn days.

2.) 21 Mar 2018 22:32:57
I’d sell Worral . We need some cash to add some attacking flair. Cash in If we can.

3.) 22 Mar 2018 02:05:40
I know everyone is loving Fox right now but he will get injured and miss months at some point and he is in his twilight years. Think AK will be looking at Worrall and Tobias as two long term centre backs, can see him moving Manchienne on if we get decent offer. Surely a Leftback is still priority and can see Osbourn being utility player, sometimes at Leftback, sometimes on left wing and sometimes central midfield.
Agree on making loans permanent if possible and a striker personall think Rhodes could’ve a big risk and would be expensive. I would prefer the big lad at Wednesday Nuhui or Lucas Joao or maybe someone like Connor Washington. If we didn’t get Tomlin then Forestieri might be worth a punt. I am sure AK has his eyes on some loans and bargains from premiership too maybe and in Spain.
Will be interesting to see where he sees Lichij, Dejagah, Fuentes, Smith, Vellios, Bouchalakis and Mckays futures and also some of lads he loaned out. I still think Clough, Lam and Yates may come back in next season. I expect Vaughan, Hobbs and Cohen to go and Grant too.

4.) 22 Mar 2018 07:27:07
I don't want to see Jordan Rhodes at Forest, too much of a risk, there's no guarantee he'll score goals and I don't think he fits in to the team.

5.) 22 Mar 2018 19:32:28
Is Lam still on our books? Can’t say I’ve seen much of him play but when I did he seemed lost.

6.) 22 Mar 2018 19:35:03
Also think we need to keep Experinced good players like Fox. Remember we haven’t yet proved we’re anything more than a mid table championship team and he still offers us a lot.

7.) 22 Mar 2018 21:19:25
Jordan Rhodes is yesterday's man. No pace, not a target man and does not close down defenders.

Not scoring these days as the game has moved on and he can be kept out the danger zone.

Sooner keep Murphy up top than carry Jordan

8.) 23 Mar 2018 15:33:42
Definitely not Dawson!!! He can only get slower. 🐌🐌🐌

9.) 23 Mar 2018 22:43:24
We need a maverick striker - ok, Stan the Man and Van Hoidonk didn't last long, but they got us back into the Premiership.

Article in the paper today explaining why MW has been fired. The owners ambitions are to challenge the playoffs this year and the form is going in the wrong direction. The Bolton win bought time but we are now 10 points back.

MW was also causing discontent by his constant rotation which did not facilitate any sort of consistency. Some of the dressing room had been lost, and when that happens there is only one way - the door.

Karanka has apparently held initial talks. He may not be swashbuckling but I want to see wins, points and competition at the top of the table.

London-Reds

1.) 01 Jan 2018 12:46:36
Some of the dressing room lost? That always happens in a big squad as some players inevitably miss out on game time. Warbs wanted to stop that happening by trimming the squad. He wasn't a total idiot.

If you were Vellios or Ward (established internationals) and couldn't get a game would you be happy?

As for the problem being rotation, if you don't rotate a bit then half the squad never play and you get unhappy players. Nobody said management was easy.

2.) 01 Jan 2018 12:52:03
Which article? Which paper ?

3.) 01 Jan 2018 13:19:18
Redcyclist: you know he's lost the dressing room when Eric has to take over on the pitch and looks as though he's the only one up for it, despite his contract being ignored. He did it with Montanier and again at the death against the black Cats.

4.) 01 Jan 2018 13:28:18
We have only dominated one home game all season, Forest fans like to see attractive passing attacking football, organised defence and a tackle being made.
I like to see a passing game but it must have a purpose. Our passing is so slow with no zip, side to side, more back passing then forward passing. Static forwards gon't help.
Poor tactics and football awareness lost Warburton his job. Never expected to be involved in top six this season but we are in relegation form again.
The current squad could perform better under a new manager given the chance.

5.) 01 Jan 2018 13:41:09
If MW is such a great manager why have 25 attacking players and then wonder why the dressing room is unhappy at him playing one up front?

He deserves everything he got.

6.) 01 Jan 2018 13:55:26
I would think only signing one inept defender to replace our only decent defender when everyone else can see the defence required major surgery won’t have helped. Not to mention the utterly embarrassing climb down around sidelining our best defender in favour of an inept one sent a shudder of doubt through the board room, a real indicator something wasn’t right I’d sugggest. What would you think if he was working for you and entrusted with your funds and investment? Two things will happen now the defence will play better clearly showing the managerial teams coaching deficiencies or they will continue to be poor demonstrating what a poor decision it was not address in the summer having had a adequate time at he club last season to analysis and evaluate our weaknesses.

Cummings and Mahoney set to sign and rumours of Norwood. Promising to see young British players come in that can improve the squad and replace a lot of the dead weight.

London-Reds

1.) 12 Jun 2017 18:56:44
L R

As far as the Norwood rumours what is the possible fee.

2.) 12 Jun 2017 19:10:39
Just seen Norwood is represented by :

Key Sports Management, is that who Warburton's daughter works for.

3.) 12 Jun 2017 20:12:14
Norwood is rated at £2.13mill, but has he been released by Brighton😎.

4.) 12 Jun 2017 20:21:30
Oj71

Thank you for that, i was thinking he would be loaned to us and a loan fee would be involved.

I did not realise they had let him go.

5.) 12 Jun 2017 21:37:00
Norwood under contract they've not let him go just a rumour as not been getting regular games.

6.) 13 Jun 2017 08:04:56
None of this will be officially reported by Nottingham Evening Post until they see an official tweet - they get all their exclusives off twitter nowadays.

7.) 13 Jun 2017 10:17:10
Norwood is still at Brighton but is unlikely to get game time now. He's an ex Man Utd academy graduate who is very assured in the ball. Mid twenties and a scratch the type I expected MW to look to bring in.

If all three go through then we have striker, winger and new central midfielder all in the door. For me that just leaves us needing a new centre half and left back before we are good to go. Clearly need to cut some of the deadwood too which helps in part to balance the books and cut our wage bill.

Interesting article in the Nottingham Post regarding the formations used in the second half of the season.

For what it's worth I think the 3-4-2-1 has been excellent and gets the best from this squad. Carvalho finds a home and Lolley can operate more freely driving at players.

To enhance this for next season I think we need 4-5 quality players whether that be permanently or on loan. A commanding centre half (Gibson on loan), left wing back option (Bidwell on a free), new keeper (Westwood), midfield general and another striker to replace Murphy and provide competition for Grabban.

What's your thoughts?

London-Reds

1.) 17 May 2019 15:22:45
We certainly don't need any more centre backs, left back a must,a pacy winger a must and a striker with pace who knows where the net is.
Tell you who I'd have even after his diving and that's Dwight Gayle at least he scores on a regular basis.

Any one know if Benalouane is fit and registered to play Saturday? God knows we need something at the back with all the injuries and suspensions.

London-Reds

1.) 18 Jan 2019 07:47:48
Paper work to be completed so should play.

2.) 18 Jan 2019 08:16:28
Another overseas over 30 injury prone player about to sign. When will we ever learn. I wonder if O’Neill even knows who he is. It is a pity Lacovetti has never “cut the mustard”, and the Swedish lad has never been given a chance. I do not know what O’Neill’s track record is in bringing on young players.

3.) 18 Jan 2019 09:43:19
Will play Saturday, he's bin sitting on the bench @ The bin dippers

4.) 18 Jan 2019 09:49:52
He hasn't officially signed yet.

5.) 18 Jan 2019 10:36:59
Got to be better than playing a midfield player at CB paired with Figeredo I wouldn't want to be a striker facing those two

6.) 18 Jan 2019 11:12:06
both ugly mother f---ers not to be messed with.

7.) 18 Jan 2019 12:18:04
Burncross, I’ve never quite grasped you obsession with academy players , can you explain it to me?

14 Jan 2019 15:34:27
Absolutely delighted to be welcoming back a legend. Yes, he's been out of the League's for a while but he knows this club and knows the history of it.

Look what an impact Solskjaer has had at United doing it their way.

A good run gets us into the top 6 and I hope one or two well picked signings follow. A left back, Worrall recalled or a centre half, a winger and a back up striker could be the difference.

London-Reds

1.) 14 Jan 2019 16:11:31
Wish Martin all the best probably the best choice out of the names mentioned that we could get
Let’s hope we finally get what we want another full house on Saturday and a good result

29 Dec 2018 17:37:46
I think that's all she wrote.

Too many poor results and in danger of falling off the pace at an alarming rate. Karanka has brought in a load of c**p if I'm honest, baring Grabban, Lolley, Carvalho and Robinson amongst one or two others.

We have the makings of a good side but new leadership is required. Adventurous football and a solid plan.

It's not Christmas anymore but if Santa is listening then please bring Martin O'Neil.

London-Reds

1.) 29 Dec 2018 17:56:33
No way to Martin O'Neill dinosaur football that doesn't work in today's game would rather watch 4,2 3,1 the rest of the season and that's saying something would of loved to see appiah for the last 20 minutes today

09 Aug 2018 14:55:23
Seen a few posts about the potential signing of Hefele and this pushing Worrall down the pecking order.

Question for you, do we want promotion or to develop a player that then jumps ship to the Prem?

I'd take winning and getting into that top league as the priority.

Doubt anyone can tell me his best position, after all these years.

Bony wages will be too much, Narsingh and Routledge are probably past it.

The season is dead in the water and the manager is reviewing all of the players. Makes sense to rotate.
