Now this terrible season draws to close.
Do we keep Nuno 5 league wins out of 24.
Having had more problems to deal with since he came here.
Do we give him a pre season to see if he can built a side capable of finishing in a decent position for a change. That is the million dollar question. Only one person knows that.
Let's all go on our hols and then start looking forward to next season. let's all keep the faith COYR
Have a lovely summer you Reds.

Must haves for next season

1. GK preferably Sam Johnstone
2. CF I'd go for Cameron Archer
3. DM
4. LB

If we keep MGW and Murrilo that's all we need imo

As for Nuno I'd give him the pre season and see where we are at the end of September with 8 games gone.

Munmad, I was very cross last night and have had the chance to sober up and reflect.

No point sacking Nuno, football has been good to watch :

1. It’s not his fault we have 13 decent players
2. It’s not his fault we don’t take chances
3. It’s not has fault at least 10% of those players are either injured or at a football tournament.
4. It’s not his fault we have a pathetic transfer policy

Mr M, if you repeat the same stupid scattergun approach to signings as you have for the last 7 seasons forget any plans you have for us. Please sort this out and give a coach a chance to build. If you sack Nuno it’s Groundhog Day and another scattergun summer. You’re a very clever man but a goldfish would learn quicker.

No that's true 2 stars you could say both Nuno and Cooper were dealt cack cards. But Nuno is a wet fish, very uninspiring. I speak to Wolves fans here in the West mids and as much as they liked Nuno they said he got lucky with the players he had and wouldn't have him back. Personally with Cooper I just think it got too much for him with the influx of players, all the other shenanigans going on at the club, you could tell in his body language. Now give Nuno the proper tools without interference and he may do OK but I just don't see it. I also don't think Marinkissmyarse will change his ways so whoever is the coach will inherit the same issues. So next season whether they would stay or not it looks likely we will sell good players because we overspent, so you now got to replace those players with equal or better. That's 2 seasons of uncertainty because our owners went nuts with the cash, even after being warned from within and outside the club.

Lots of pre-match euphoria and atmosphere but we have to do it on the pitch. At the end of the day another HOME DEFEAT. Reece James and Raheem Stirling are world class internationals and have to be marked. Wood was shocking again - should have been substituted earlier. Some very good attacking football from us but they were walking through our midfield - I won't name the culprit again as he looked lost at times. A mistake to take Yates off (unless injured? ). Aina looked world class at times - we need 3 more players like him. Sorry but I don't know what to make of Niakate but ge doesn't look £17M worth. Getting mixed feelings about going to the ground and watching my team lose most of the time - this has to stop or we will be relegated next season. I have renewed already so can't be more positive than that!

RHR: Agreed re Niakhate. He’s doesn’t seem the same player since he returned from injury.

Some changes required to stop more losses than wins but under Cooper we couldn't score and under Nuno a better ratio but he inherited a mixed bunch at the back we need to see what happens when it's certain we're still safe who we bring in and who goes to balance the book's then the coach will earn his money whoever he is.

Ok, so my take away from the game yesterday, having watched it on the tellybox.

Substitutions were not needed. But, Nuno loves to tinker for no real reason. As ass as they came on the dynamic was massively changed. Montiel and Niakhate were doing fine and Nuno should have left well alone. Having said that Montiel was at fault for their first. I would say I was absolutely astounded by our defending in the last 10-15 mins, but we've done this so many time this season that sadly nothing astounds me anymore.

Toffs is not premier league.
Murillo is a beast and we need to go all out to hang onto him.
We played stupid tippy-tappy football with trick back heels and lost the ball. This needs to stop. At one point we literally looked like we were trying to showboat when we needed to keep it simple.

Wood is too slow. I watched him in a race with Tiago Silva, who at 39, skinned him and got to the ball first. And he's seemingly gone back to his worst again: missing sitters because he cannot shift his feet quick enough.

We need to keep Sels, he a pretty decent stopper. it's the defence in front of him that needs sorting; the way we backed off from Stirling was schoolboy stuff. it's not as if he's an unknown entity in the footballing world and everyone knows what he is capable of.
And how many times did we let Jackson waltz through into our box?

CHO is a classy player when his confidence is high. Let's hope he maintains it for next season.

I did feel sorry for Luton and Burnley. said nobody EVER. Gobby Kompany and mardy-arse Edwards. although I rate both as decent managers, more so Edwards. Get him in for Nuno?

Overall, we put in a decent performance other than the last 10-15 mins. Some snappy tackles, some great passes, marred by some woeful defensive lapses.

Onwards and upwards as surely Luton and Forest can't overcome or screw up a 12 goal goal-difference. can we?

Forest played really well yesterday rogie but that collapse (seemingly due to substitutions) was hard to take and very angering. Game just needed closing out. I’m sure the owner would have been fuming and quite alarmed and the exodus of fans shunning the lap of honour - I’m pretty sure he will have got the message how f.ed off the fans are right now. It’s been a strange season and I’m glad it’s over. I’m going to renew but will probably sell them back for most games, I think I’m ready for a break from forest altogether but will likely be up for it again in the future.

2stars maybe the subs didn’t help, BUT the difference in the end was in the quality of the benches, they’ve initially brought on 80 million pounds raheem sterling, and England full back Reece James, we’ve brought on toffollo and an out of form elanga, we had to make the subs because we’d done a lot of running on a warm evening, yatesy was shattered, so superior squad depth beat us in the end for me.

Don't blame you mate, this season has taken a lot out of everyone, can't be flirting with relegation every year, really hope we keep Murilllo and MGW.
It will be very hard to hang onto them, if I'm honest I'm sure they won't want to be languishing around the drop zone, if that happens, you would like to think it won't.

I could give you 110 Million more.

Stevie, don’t know if you saw it but I agreed with your comment last night about the gulf in resources. In reality matching Chelsea as we did is commendable and it’s not Nuno’s fault we have 11 good players and very few after that.

Some interesting posts to read through. It seems the site is split again like it was before cooper got the sack. Should we keep Nuno? Does he deserve a pre-season and to be able to shape his squad? I see no big difference between the two other than Nuno block is slightly higher than coopers ultra low one. We do seem a little more capable under Nuno but have severe defensive issues.

To be fair mate even if we bought a new manager in he will play the same sort of system that the players are use to playing nunos not been great but end of day he's kept us up ok with 3 worse teams below us but same could be said for last season I'm just happy we've stopped up wether Nuno keeps his job or not that's upto big m but if he does decide to get rid do it after last game not halfway through preseason recruitment and keeping our best players and getting rid of a lot of crap smaller squad a priority and needs sorting straight away let's see what happens.

I’m pretty sure Marankis won’t want another season just scraping survival. If anybody saw his interview after Olympiacos game the other day, he said he was confident we’d stay up, and that he has ‘big plans’ for Forest, so he seems very committed still, but let’s hope he has learnt from his mistakes, and gets the right people doing the right jobs! That would be a start!

Ballons, We'll have at least 3 seasons in the Premiership having spent £250m. You can ask Sheff Utd, Burnley and Luton what 'no progress' looks like. I agree we've under achieved but after a season of adversity, much of which wasn't self inflicted, we're still there. I expect us to be 13th or above next season.

We are miles away from being a decent Premier League team, MUNMAD. We are worse this season than last season. Just like last close season we need major improvements. Better defenders and someone who can finish. We create chances but we're not putting them away and defending is schoolboy-esque at times. We were fortunate that the 3 that came up were as bad as they ended up being. Next season it will be more difficult with the likes of the bin-dippers coming up. Then one of either Leeds, Saints, Norwich or the Baggies to boot. None of which will be as bad the 3 we had this season.

Agree1 0Disagree

12 May 2024 07:59:44
Bin dippers will be starting on minus and and Ipswich and whoever comes up with I won't be bothered about but we need to be aiming top 10 next season not worrying about bottom 3 so off we go again 3rd time lucky.
