Reality check, my fellow Reds. The latest person that I'm trying to help is a victim of domestic abuse who has been suffering from the actions of her husband for around 30 years.
She presented at a Salvation Army church a few weeks ago homeless, starving and with just a handful of clothes. She had decided to take the brave step of leaving her husband and the abuse that she suffered from him for so long.
She is now housed in a Salvation Army refuge but has no income, no means of buying food and no winter clothing. I've just given her a £50 emergency food voucher and I'm trying to scrounge £700 from various charities to help her in the short term.
She cried when she received the £50 food voucher.
Remember Reds - even small acts of kindness can change the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves forever.

The Sally Army will give her a clothes voucher to use in one of their charity shops for some clothing, I don’t really think much of most of these so called ‘charity set ups’ but some will help out.
Good on you for helping out though!

Deal Bowie. From what I've heard, the guy deserves no less. He is an ex-Squaddie too, which hurts me (a fraction of how much he hurt his wife though. ).
£300 raised so far for her.
However, now I'm going to 'switch off' and focus on the Reds. I've actually got butterflies in my stomach thinking about our return to European football.
