Well, comrades, Manchester Utd's spending on incomings has just topped £200 million with more to come. That's what we are up against.
As I said, we won't be taking 6 points off them next season in all probability.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why not stokey? Just because they spent a few bob in premier terms. F ck em.

08 Aug 2025 05:43:59
Still think man Utd will not perform to what there supporters demand!, the three promoted teams have been active in this transfer market could be risky move long term, I think the top four will be the usual suspects, but the relation battle will be interesting, for Forest, many ups and downs to come, can't wait! ?.

Agreed Bowie.

Costly buys doesn't make a team
Problem united have is they hardly had a team to build on
Still got bad goalkeepers and defensively not recruiting and at some stage need to sell their so called stars for knockdown prices
Also how good is Amorin?
As he's not managing in Portugal now.

Antony, casimiero, mount Hoylund McGuire, Sancho, Etc weren’t exactly bargain basement.

08 Aug 2025 08:17:05
With the signings they have made would expect them to be top 8 side this year, going be very competitive top6 and bottom 6. I reckon if we get 8-12 be an OK season.

I think the key word, comrades, is “probability “. The odds of taking 6 pointsoff have been drastically reduced. The point in really making is that the Prem is set up to favour the “big “ clubs in terms of available spending without points deductions.
What’s our total spend so far? A fraction of the favoured teams.
Spending isn’t guaranteed success ( look at the Galaticos of Real Madrid ) but it’s certainly a good indicator imo.
That’s why you never see a poor bookie. It’s all about odds and calculated probability.

08 Aug 2025 09:53:00
Yes but your only going on the signings on paper an we all know how that works
They've done their shopping early and we are still doing ours so we don't know what our team will be like when we've finished
Also we've got rid of players that didn't fit and weren't good enough, only jota and morata to go now
So I find it impossible to say we won't take six points off them
Like I say crap goalkeepers and a leaky defence still intact and they really had little foundations of a team to build on
Not convinced Amorin is any good either
We are actively looking to sin players and I'll wait and see our squad when the window shuts before making any predictions.

I didn’t say we “won’t” take points off them DTP mate, I said “ in all probability “. Who knows? But the odds of us over achieving ( bearing in mind our limited resources compared to the money bags clubs) like last season ( even with the burn out results towards the end ) are drastically reduced.
Or do you think a squad worth a billion will, statistically, lose to a squad worth a tenth of that?
The point I’m making is that we’re in the £20 to £40 million market, Man Utd the £70 to £80, Liverpool the £80 to £120 million and God only knows what Man City will do. It’s decidedly not a level playing field.
The chances of us taking 6 points off Man Utd ( and Spurs) 4 off Liverpool and 3 off Man City, Newcastle and Villa like last season are severely reduced imo.
But, I hope I’m wrong.
Incidentally you are right the squad isn’t fully formed yet but its final value won’t be anything like the clubs I’ve listed.
I hope I’m wrong about the results though ??.

08 Aug 2025 14:21:16
Bit stokey that market hasn't worked for United already
Anthony
Hujhland
Casimero
Maguire
Onana
Mount
Pogba
Lukaku
Sancho and many more all failing
So there is no probability because they didn't have a team to build on and the club is rotten to the core behind the scenes,
The size of the fee means nothing as you can see from the list above.

08 Aug 2025 15:56:43
Well, I hope you are right DTP. We’ ll see mate! ?.

08 Aug 2025 18:52:23
Tbh stokey I don't look at football from your perspective
It's about how we go about our business and how we perform as a team that will decide the outcome of the points against United.

08 Aug 2025 19:31:31
Agreed dtp.

08 Aug 2025 21:32:25
Hope your keeping off them cigarettes Bowie x.
