Good point against a top 3 side but we need to start getting the ball to Johnson earlier which we did when Cooper first took over, we also need to improve on attacking corners to many near post stuff get it in the middle of the 6 yard box and throw your head at it.

Sounds painful to me mate!
😏😏😏.

2.) 28 Nov 2021 13:32:07
😂😂😂 rogie.

3.) 28 Nov 2021 15:24:42
We are going back to draws are o.k, we had the new manager bounce. Know we need to win some. I don't think we are getting promoted this season, but would like to end in the play - offs. Make the season interesting.

4.) 28 Nov 2021 16:03:32
With lowe injured we have no option at left back that can work alongside Johnson, bit in my opinion have an option if we play wingbacks in Joe lolley.
Let's face it we are playing with ten men with bong on the pitch so just give the opposition something to worry about and a lolley Johnson pairing would worry most opponents.

Solid mid table red tan, no where near the top six This season, not enough goals in the team and we are still to slow to get forward, we still poor at home and it’s too easy for teams to stifle us . Hughton was poor but he didn’t have a top six team sat at the foot of the table - it’s not a great team we have here . Let that not take the shine off the massive improvement we’ve made though, hughton would have taken us down no doubt but I can’t see Cooper getting us much higher than mid table this season - I’m good with that though .

6.) 28 Nov 2021 17:47:38
I wouldn't want to go up 2 star tis season even if we reach the play offs, which I think we will, we aren't ready as a club, you look at the training facilities at most clubs in the Premier and that's what makes a difference.
They play on state of the art facilities while we play on wilford Lane in a tent?
We a better training ground before we need a new stand to progress and stay there.
Although you go up and get slaughtered week in and out it can lay the foundations if the money is invested wisely?
Problem with that is fans don't want to see us get slaughtered every week and rightly so?
Only one way and we where on that course under warbo, put the faith in youth with a few astute signings at the right price, some will pay off some won't, but we have never done any better since we sacked him.
Brereton, cash, walker, Worrall, probably better than some of the young players coming through now?
And we had the 15 million from Assombalonga.
I just like coopers way of going for it even if we are lacking in certain areas.

{Ed001's Note - you make a good point there, that is what Burnley did under Sean Dyche. They got up and relegated immediately, but Dyche refused to take all the money for signings, instead spending it on the infrastructure of the club. It has reaped dividends for them.}

7.) 28 Nov 2021 18:24:42
I won’t be complaining if your prediction comes true that’s for sure, .

8.) 28 Nov 2021 18:28:19
Edd we have gained a higher status in our under 23,but to really progress we need better facilities than we have.
Many sides get to the prem and go out and blow their money on sometimes good signings, but it takes time to mould a side and you always need a foundation.
The problem then is even if they are good signings for the prem they aren't prepared to play even one season in the championship and get something signed in their contracts and invariably cost the club a fortune and if they aren't any good stay, and still cost the club a fortune? if you get relegated, think most sides now understand it pointless spending all the 150 million trying to stay there in one season.
150 million spent on training facilities attracts a better quality youngster in the first place and while it's not instant success, the long term benefits far out way the short term.
Correct me if I'm wrong though edd l, but is money spent on youth training facilities or facilities in general, not part of ffp?
To me you get that right first at a club, I'd love a new stand but I'd prefer a successful side first.
No point being like Sunderland, Nice stadium shame about the side?

{Ed001's Note - you are correct, they are exempt from FFP calculations. That is why it makes more sense to spend on them, it is a big help for the future of the club. I am with you on this all the way.}

2 star mate confidence is the biggest factor in football to me.
If your manager is confident then the players will feed off that.
Even when you know you can't win?
Never let your players know that, always tell them they can do it.
The way in life to get the best out of any workforce is to be positive, have a smile on your face and tel them how good they are, even if they aren't the best individually,

10.) 28 Nov 2021 19:22:24
Ff79 couldn't agree more mate, but as balloons pointed out. Name a half decent 11 that belong to us. A manager can only motivate what's in front of him. Yet most are ready to fly the nest.

11.) 28 Nov 2021 20:33:06
If you check out most the championship they have loans that are better than their players on the books.
It's interesting that a 13 million loss a season was put in place few years ago but there has been no change to that figure and with inflation and players wages still rising, it should be looked at and capped every so many years?
Add c.v. to the equation and no gate receipts, then it's not a viable figure anymore?
I believe 39 million should never be a ball park figure anyway, it should be based on the turnover of each club individually percentage wise of their turnover
Let's say a club like Luton or Peterborough does not have the income of say forest Stoke Bristol?
And yet have the same rules?
They don't have the same expenditures.

12.) 28 Nov 2021 22:51:08
Cheers mate 👌.

13.) 28 Nov 2021 23:26:49
Defo a good point JS, we need to carry on grabbing the points where we can, someone has mentioned it’s not a great team if you strip out the loanees so January is going to be interesting and important. I genuinely think we’re going to have to sell someone to stay within FFP, not to fund signings to stay within FFP. If we can hold onto the loan players who are performing we’ll do ok . The next area of interest for me is the summer, Cooper walked at Swansea because big decisions were made without him, we’re going to find out really quickly if we’ve changed our ways in how the club is run . I do hope so.

Agree Taylor falls over when someone plows on him god knows what he would do if Kenny Burns was behind him.

JS1979

1.) 29 Sep 2021 14:30:05

Badly need a striker who don't fall over when someone blows on him, and learn how to defend crosses which has been how downfall for the last 5 season at least.

Any one for Andy Carroll on a pay as you play.

JS1979

1.) 24 Jul 2021 08:43:27
Why not, a good player when he plays, and we will not be lumbered with paying him when he is out for most of the season.

2.) 24 Jul 2021 09:04:46
Mate, he should be happy just to play. considering he's never been off the sick bed, while being paid absurd money.

3.) 24 Jul 2021 10:33:36
The crock of all crocks never ever ever!

4.) 24 Jul 2021 10:49:01
I mentioned this afew weeks ago and got laughed at. Rightly so as i checked out his appearances last season. 8 that's all and some of them as a sub. Bruce has had enough.

5.) 24 Jul 2021 11:29:04
Sandro Kulenovic is having second thoughts about our approach for him, i hope we are not now offering him wages so high he can not refuse.

6.) 24 Jul 2021 11:29:11
A class player on his day and definitely a handful maybe a good option to consider but only on a pay as you play contract though.

7.) 24 Jul 2021 11:37:19
A whole 8 Appearances Rutland?
You sure mate?
Think you meant "Minutes"
😏😏😏.

8.) 24 Jul 2021 12:59:23
id have him and play him behind two forwards, big target man who could knock the ball down or put a pass through to the forwards. yes he's a crock but in that position you might get a half a season out of him.

9.) 24 Jul 2021 14:39:32
What have you been smoking 65😂😂👍.

10.) 24 Jul 2021 14:45:18
This site bad mouths old croks that are injured and past it, now its sign him up, which way is the wind blowing, clueless. what's happened to youth.

11.) 24 Jul 2021 16:55:34
I've actually met andy Carroll on a couple of occasions, he was seeing a girl about a mile away from me in cullercoats, its a hard one. I've thought about it. Old injuries is like a glass jaw to a boxer. Leave him.

12.) 24 Jul 2021 19:22:58
He must have good eyesight then.

13.) 24 Jul 2021 21:07:53
Cheers Irish there is some bonny lassies around here 😉.

14.) 24 Jul 2021 23:13:48

Players now to tensed up they full over when someone blows on them so if they ever get touched there out for 6 months as Roy Keane says babies babies perhaps if they didn't get paid when not playing they wouldn't be injured long.
