What's the point of pre season friendlys if you don't put out your-starting eleven. I thought the idea was to get the players settled into formation and up the match fitness. Starting with players who aren't going to make the match day squad is questionable. I mean it's Notts county not Real Madrid, so is it for the benefit of the youth or the first team.
Another point why can't the under21 euros be played at the same time as the main comp. That way players would be available for pre season and the tournaments would have a better dimension, like double headers in the same stadium.
No players signed with only the pensioner Willian on the radar, who's had a medical but is talking to his parent club?.?
With friendliest underway one might expect any new blood to be wrapped up and done ready to get the best start for club and personal pride. I suspect we won't sign anyone, partly due to ffp and tight purse strings after last years debacle. The squad is good enough to survive but surely we want better than that.

To be honest there was no point to yesterday's I'm hoping 3 quarters of them players are gone by end of summer and I would say 3 or 4 new signings but it's a waiting game players to be bought in by other clubs before we can get our hands on the ones we want definitely no repeat of last season.

Cooper wanted to look at a few players. Huang Ui Jo and Aguilera spring to mind. Accomplished.
He also wanted to demonstrate that some players who are available for transfer are fit enough to play. Accomplished.
He wanted some players who didn't play internationals (so not MGW, Johnson etc) to get minutes under their belt. Worrall, Yates, Mangala got minutes. Accomplished.
He didn't risk the ones who are nearly recovered from injury, so Omar Richards, Wood and a couple of others didn't play. Accomplished.
As he was resting players who played internationals and players recovering from injury, he couldn't play the first team. Instead, he used the game to show a few were fit, gave a few youngsters a chance and had a look at Huang Ui Jo and Aguilera. Sensible use of the game.
We are sick of injured squad, but now people are moaning when we don't risk players who played all last season and in internationals. Get a grip and look at the bigger picture. We don't want overworked players to get injured BEFORE the season starts. That would be plain STUPID!
Why is it the fans at games are so positive but so many on here moan all the time?

I agree with your post apart from one point. If Richards wasn’t fit enough to play yesterday we should simply forget him and move on.

Hi 2Stars. Don't know the medical info on Richards but this is what I think they are going to do. They are going to take him to Spain, put him through full pace pre-season training and closely monitor everything. If he gets through it and manages to start playing, then he will be in the squad.
They will step up training in Spain. It's sh1t or bust at that point for Richards. At this point, I doubt anyone knows whether he can make it.
