I won a Forest signed football in a school raffle and the rest is history - thank god for that or I might have been a fester or Luton supporter ??‍♂️ first big game I went to was Luton west Han and sas to say i cannot remember my Forest game. I got run ragged all over Leicester through the early eighties but Forest had got me because of a football and too many times hiding in a burger van from mad northerners or soft southerners ??‍♂️ love the memories from old days out at Leicester and Nottingham but also great days out following the poppies ; (Kettering town) all over the country. Too many messy days out to mention but I can’t forget how may good people I’ve met along the way.

Rough time for football 80s mate I remember being a forest fan well then most of mates were fester fans and quite a few of them baby squad and ybs I must of had death wish at time use to walk in some of pubs in town where they would meet up after game and shout uredddddsssss lucky I was about only one who could get away with that ?? Good friends and good times in them days when I was a young lad back in the day ??.

Me old man took me to my first game in 1980 at the WFCG against Sunderland. Not sure if it was a mid-week match or a Saturday match. We won 3-1 if memory serves me right. Can't remember who stood out in the match just the result, vaguely, and being on me dad's shoulders as it was terraced back then. I was only 5.

The only time I got to watch Forest once in the early 90's when they came to play my home team Ards FC. that team included Nigel Clough, Steve Chettle, Gary Charles, Gary Bannister. Forest won 7-0.

Can’t remember now who we played the day I went to my first match, but what a day that was, couldn’t sleep all night, went with my dad, uncle and brother, mi dad had told me the night before that he was talking me for the first time, I was only 5 at the time, God the excitement, couldn’t wait for dinner time to come around, not that I wanted any dinner, I wanted to be off, 12-30 came and we were off to catch the bus, all four of us, plus the old beer case, empty I might add skegs, walked down to catch the bus, no cars, started getting on one bus, not that on dad said, that one makes to many stops on the way, this one only makes 2. Think the fair was 6d, off we went beer case on my knees, bumpy bloody ride it was to, seemed to take forever, but we got there, what a feeling, never walked amongst so many people, all wearing red and white, mostly home knitted, then it happened, dad said here yar, its yours, mum had knitted me one, what a feeling that was, I was now a proper Forest fan. Into the ground bus park, up to the turn stiles, through went the 3grown ups, up and over I went, I was in, inside the city ground, it was scary but bloody amazing, pushing our ways through the crowd even with 45 mins to go before kick off. Just to the left of the goal on the cop end, the 3grown up put me on my beer case up against the wall, then left me with a bag of sweets while they went to there usual spot bout 5rows back behind some metal posts, I had know idea what they were for, but I did after the first goal. What an experience what a day how could you not be fixed on Forest after that ay lads, in my heart for ever, and what a great family thing to remember, no radio on the bus back either, but the talk was all Forest.
Sorry lads went on a bit there ? caught me in a reminiscent mood, time for a cuppa ☕️.

First game, vs Peterborough. FA Cup on 1st Jan 76. I remember, terrible game (0-0), stood on East Stand terrace and it was wazzing it down. Also, the toilets didn't have a roof on, imagine that nowadays.

My first away game was Villa Park
Bitterly cold with sleet and snow. 1968 maybe.
Loads of Forest fans went in a chippy and took them in the ground. We went in the Holt End which was terraced then.
We made a massive pile with the empty wrappers and set light to them and gathered round to keep warm.
I don’t remember and police or stewards coming.
I can’t remember much about the game either, other than we lost and Andy Lockhead played centre forward for Villa.
Back in Birmingham City Centre for our train home, there were gangs of Brum City fans running around looking for trouble. Well, they found it and wished they hadn’t.
The bad old days.
You Reds❤️.

I'm Reading born and bred but a (55 year) lifelong Forest fan. It goes back before the glory days but nobody knows why. Hence my user name. So, my first game was Reading/ Sheff Utd in probably the old Div3. Was still at junior school so about 10 maybe. Me and my mate from school got in the (family friendly) Tilehurst end of the old Elm Park. Rest of the ground was all cages. Couldn't believe what I was seeing!

Great post Thedream
So special that first game.
Anyone remember the Rathaus Square in Munich in the daytime before the 1st European cup win?
A sea of red and white just giving it big time.
Absolutely brilliant.
A row of police all with guns literally falling about laughing at the antics of the fans jumping in the fountains. Then one joker climbs the statue in the middle of the fountain, drops his shorts and jumps in the water. The police never overreacted but just calmly got everyone out of the fountain.
I loved Wembley last year. It was so great watching all the young fans getting a taste of what we experienced in the Cloughie years.
You Reds❤️.

My first game was back in 91 at the city ground versus QPR in the old division 1 I was 10 and with my dad standing in the Trent end, couldn’t see much of the match but I remember Nigel clough getting a penalty in the second half to square it up at 1-1 and that’s how it finished, I think Stuart (psycho) Pearce was the stand out player in that game, just like he was in so many of our games.
I still remember at the start of the game and the psycho salute………. psycho, psycho, psycho was the chant from the Trent Enders as psycho came out to rally the troops at the start of the game and every home game.
