Well, that makes a refreshing change!
Lovely to see how upbeat the crowd was before, during and after the game. What's with all the flares and fireworks? Very welcome though. And yes Mossy I do have a smile on my face mate, as I always do when the Reds win.
A long way to go though, starting with a real tough one away at Bournemouth on Sunday, but, as Mao said " In a journey of a thousand miles, you have to take the first step". We did that last night against an excellent Porto side.
As for the game itself, I can't add much to what's already been said on here.
We look comfortable going back to our "identity" under Nuno. Malenkovic and Murillo back to their usual selves, Williams and Zinchenko solid defensively and Savona looks a real find on this performance.
Luiz and Anderson are key. We have to keep them fit and available, both vital cogs and they complement each other. MGW and Jesus were a constant nuisance to them going forward, both playing with confidence.
I actually stood up ( like the idiot I am) to celebrate Ndoye chasing upfield a long way to force a throwing deep in their half. To me, nearly as good as a goal because it showed intent, motivation and hard work, all missing for most of Ange's time
CHO putting in a shift in attack and helping out defensively. Should have scored a couple.
The subs did well and slotted in seamlessly.
We had a bit of luck with VAR but, as Napoleon said " I'd rather have a lucky General than a good one".
Likewise, was it Arnold Palmer who said " It's odd, but the harder I work, the luckier I get". We certainly put a shift in!
I don't really know what so called "Dyche ball" looks like yet but I like winning. After so many recent disasters it was like John Mills sinking that pint at the end of "Ice Cold in Alexandria ". bring it on.
As a footnote, which member of SDs staff was booked after our second penalty late in the second half? Whoever it was, I love the passion and commitment ???????.

Savona looks good to me as well. He'll need a bit of time to get used to the Prem but looks like he has what it takes to me.
We were so overdue some luck as well.
We played a reasonably entertaining style, which I prefer to what Everton were doing under the new boss. Praying they continue to do that.

How was it luck cyclist 2 clear penalties and a goal disallowed for being way offside the team kept a good scoring unbeaten team out and forest controlled the game so why do you keep saying lucky lol give credit where its due.

If we hadn't got the penalties it I'd have said it was bad luck so.
Was anyone in E block or nearby and heard what Woan said when he got booked?

Agree Stokey apart from it was Gary Player who said " the harder i work the luckier i get" after he chipped in and someone said "that was lucky"
