To show what nuno is made of you have to look at that Newcastle result in isolation. Even if we lose to united that trip north was not for the feint hearted. Knowing the reverence cooper was held in and people looking at nuno's recent track record that match was a test of character under immense scrutiny. Losing his first match at home, even though undeserved, could have damaged any plans and new manager bounce. Nuno made many changes, shied away from nothing. Gave the players clarity and demanded a unified TEAM performance. The fact he got it and more and the team did not capitulate during a tense first 20 minutes is great credit to the team and nuno. I really like his philosophy and charm. You can see he has man management skills and understands respect. You can have all the coaching skills in the world yet you need to make yourself understood, open the minds.
I think we will come to love nuno and really hope he has a lasting impact at the club. Now wouldn't that be great.

Good post Rutland! I have said on here a few times about Nunos courage and that he’s not a coach who will die wondering. I was staggered by him subbing a defensive midfielder ( Mangela? ) and replacing him with CHO an attacking winger with 10 men on the field. The 10 gave it a right good go and were desperately unlucky not to get at least a point v Bournemouth. Of course, we could have been over run but we weren’t. So hats off to him…. ??????.

He was forced into changes we’d played with 10 men for 70 mins 3 days earlier, and had a programme of 3 matches in 10 days,

Is sulkland never going to get over being wrong about Cooper. Someone with no coaching skills and not able to give clear instructions got a struggling bottom of the championships side into the prem. OBVIOUSLY! Doh! ??.

Changes were probable after the shift the lads put in against Bournemouth Stevie agreed mate. I guess I meant to emphasise the players he gave a run out hadn’t had much game time mate therefore potentially risky and not match fit like Montiel, Dominquez, Worrall, Aina, Danillo etc. As I say, brave decisions which could have backfired but didn’t.

Stokey I guess he’s got to have a look at the squad in a match environment, it was a brave lineup, Montiel was never going to be phased by Sid James’s park, a bloke that’s played in a World Cup final, I also thought what the new manager did with elanaga against the cart horse that is Dan Burn was an obvious line of attack, which cooper did with Johnson at home last season, I think elanga was burns worst nightmare,

Bit harsh Rutland, i don’t think that Cooper is a crap coach, just a bit out of his depth in the prem, you probably wouldn’t have said he was crap in the promotion season.
