Ive asked on the site before about FFP without an answer, Ed, Bowie please tell me, say we sell johno for 50 million, then all the cash goes against FFP, I get that bit, but, what happens if we sell johno then bye 2 other players out of that money, say 17 million each, does that mean we only have 16 million to set against FFP. Its so confusing for an old git like me, if that theory is wrong please explain in simple language, thanks.

Ffp is over 3 years. So we haven’t got to address it till next season. Sell our deadwood first. Keep Johnson another good season he’s going to be worth closer to £70m.

We don't have a problem with ffp
We could have in a year or two though
We are actively trying to sign players so don't worry the dream mate.

I think it buys time Dream. So £50 million goes into our coffers straight away ( subject to add ons and the negotiated deal etc. So, we buy, for arguments sake, 2 players for £15 million each on 3 year contracts. So, that £30 million is over 3 years so it’s roughly £10 million a year in FFP terms. So we have £40 million to set against FFP for a year, then the next year and the next year reducing by £10m a year. I’m probably not explaining myself very well but it’s like a new car losing value the longer you keep it?
That’s my understanding but I bow to the better judgement and knowledge of our esteemed Ed!

Ffp. In prem you’re allowed upto £105m losses over 3 seasons. I don’t know forests current financial losses but we made roughly £170m coming up through playoffs and I’ve read we make £115m through sky this season. Maybe someone on here can explain more.
But if this is true we shouldn’t be worried bout ffp until next season. We could probably spend another £70m this season and maybe sell likes of Johnson next season to help balance things out.

The thing we need to keep in mind is one of our 3 seasons that are considered for ffp was in the championship so our losses we are allowed would be less than say Everton whos 3 seasons would be on the Premier league it's not that straight forward.

Let's be honest we all know it's over 3 years, but we can't work out the maths involved. The big Greek has said we're not entering FFP, so I'll take his word for it. He's done a pretty good job so far.

Carlo, I worked with an Ulsterman in Nottinghamshire Police who told me he hadn’t joined the (then) RUC because if you joined them so did your whole family, wife, kids, friends etc. I met up with several RUC Officers on training courses etc and they told me of the daily precautions they had to take like mirrors under the cars, armoured front doors, billet proof windows. Didn’t even tell their kids what they did for a living. So, I’d imagine they would be incandescent about the leak. I’d be requesting relocation paid for by the Police Authority and massive compensation from the private company involved for Data Protection Act offences and civil action for fear, stress, mental health related illness and disruption of family life. I’m staggered at the ineptitude. It even listed MI5 agents attached and was an answer to a simple Freedom of Information Act request. Incredible mate. Let’s just hope it doesn’t cost any lives.
