Xabi Alonso anyone?

He’s a bit old to get a game in our midfield at 44 mate and his sell on price would be negligible……. ?????
Seriously, why would he ever come to a basket case of a club like ours? He wouldn’t have the last say on transfers in or out so he’d fall at the first hurdle.

Finally, we have an excellent manager at the helm so theirs no vacancy
Apart from that, a good shout mate! ??????.

He wouldn't have had a say at Madrid either.

Enrique will be looking for a job soon based on their performance tonight, PSG look a shadow of two seasons ago.

I’d be amazed if elite managers like Alonso and Enrique didn’t have the final say on transfers DTP ( like Slot, Arteta, Pep ). What do you think Ed 1? You are usually extremely knowledgeable on these matters mate?

{Ed001's Note - Alonso did at Leverkusen, but not at Madrid. He barely had any control at all, the players run that club. Enrique has some say, but not really final say, that comes from the ownership there, they will mediate any dispute between SD (or whatever they term them at PSG) and Enrique over signings.}

He definitely won't be coming to Forest.

He'll never come to Forest.

Thanks Ed, very interesting and also re assuring mate that we are not the only club run by loonies!
The more I think about it, the more I think football clubs ( and their fans) are like dysfunctional families, with the way they operate. The love is there but there’s infighting, factions, squabbling, ups and downs.

I’m reminded of ( the famously grumpy but brilliant) poet Philip Larkin in the final verse of “ This Be The Verse”……”
“Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don’t have any kids yourself”….
???????.

{Ed001's Note - the problem is that the best way to get things done is a dictatorship but one person deciding everything is incredibly dangerous. If there is more than one person involved in the decision making process, at some point it always ends in bickering and rancour.}

We probably couldn't entice the League One managers like Nigel, never mind Champions league managers.
