Just been looking on Nottingham city transport, no buses running on Boxing Day this year. Tottenham at home sell our crowd, well done city council.

Nice one Bowie, I only live a couple of miles from the ground so a steady walk there and back will be in order. City council won't spoil my day.

I'm posh, so I did Latin at school. Living by the sea in Cornwall nowadays my favourite is 'nos ambo pugnare et navigare' (we both fight and sail).

Does anybody remember the old square Forest badge displaying the Nottingham City coat of arms with the Latin motto “Vivit post funera vertis “ inscribed thereon? Translated as “ Virtue lives on after Death”. Obviously long before the cretinous charlatans who run the City ( and Country) at the present time took over!
As a footnote my Uncle Bob Winston was on Forests books in the 1960s though he never played for the First Team and eventually became a carpenter. On a family visit he kindly bought me ( aged about 8 or 9) a Forest shirt with the old badge and an autograph book containing the signatures of the famous team of 66 / 67 including the legendary manager Johnny Carey. I still have both though the shirt is now pink and shrunken, much like myself. They are, and remain, my pride and joy! ?.

I wasn’t posh like you Legless and went to Ellis Guilford School on Bar Lane at Basford. Our school motto ( in English only) was “By Endeavour” accompanied by a badge displaying an open book with an acorn plus a sun and moon. We wags quickly assumed the badge meant “ Reading night and day sends you nuts “. I have read night and day as advised and, indeed, it has sent me mad ………. ?????????.

Very good Stokey and Balloons! Both made me chuckle.
I actually have a set of red pyjamas with a copy of the old Forest badge on the top and the old neckline and cuffs. Courtesy of my daughter for my 50th.

Not sure about your post there Oggy, but if you're calling me a ponce that's fine. I'm not, but at least you're not calling me a spastic I suppose!
I do love the name Oggy though. Down here in Cornwall, it's the shortened-version of our nickname for a Cornish Pasty - a Tiddy-Oggy.
