Unfortunately I live in the glorious city of barnsley and rumour with the tykes fans is that we're looking at Chris O'grady
{Ed034's Note - that rumour was going round last January. Pearce is looking at better
1.) Would be a very good signing. gave us plenty of problems at oakwell last term and his record in the championship is decent (a lot better then what we have).
Very intelligent player and strong. would fit in well I thinks!
{Ed034's Note - not good enough for us.
2.) By all accounts he has no pace to be a top striker
3.) Ed, so what's your take on Henderson & Cox then?.
{Ed034's Note - if cox is full of confidence, I think he can be a great asset. for some reason his sharpness has gone and unless he can get this back, he should be replaced.
Hendo is useful to bring on if we need to go more direct, but if we can bring in better, then do it and let him go.
4.) Charlton have bid £500k and Millwall are interested which tells you all you need to know about this guy?
5.) Personally I think he offers more as an all round ctr fwd than Cox or Henderson (put too together). his movement and link play are so much better and you know this guy gives you 110%. I agree there are better out there but for £500k he would be a good squad addition IMO.
Henderson and Cox i'm afraid just haven't proved anything on a consistent basis which is what we need. we get a run of 3 or 4 good games from Simon Cox then that's it for another 12 games. Not good enough if were pressing for the promised land!
6.) He must be good if he can give 110%!

Pearce looking to bring Harry Maguire to Nottingham
{Ed034's Note - good player
1.) Express and Star report 13/5 that Wolves are after Maguire and Callum Wilson
2.) Good player will cost 2 mil so if this is true one of our central defenders is on the way out
3.) Collins on his way out, talk of Halford could also be shown the door.
So there could be some truth behind this.
4.) Forest would not pay wages wolves would offer plus we dnt need another cb
{Ed034's Note - a??
5.) So Mightyoak you don`t think we need another CB. you are more than happy with Collins, Halford being back up.
Lets just hope we don`t get any injuries as we have had this season just gone, and let's all hope that Pearce does not see it that way.
{Ed034's Note - lascelles, hobbs, Wilson, Collins and halford....I agree with you mightyoak
6.) Keep Halford as last resort and replace Collins with a younger up and coming CB
7.) Peltier can play cb has done so for leeds and is a more usefull all rouner ie full back/cb/midfield. Let both collins and halford go and sign him. If we sell lascelles then bring in this young lad as a back up as well. Three salaries gone and 2 in place off, financial sense plus we have more positions covered
8.) Yeah, we do have plenty of CBs, but this season proved if we have some inuries, back up is not at the required quality level.
Collins is really terrible and Halford is not a lot better. I think we do need another quality CB
{Ed034's Note - our biggest problem came in central midfield. if we had had Vaughan, reid and Lansbury playing, we would have coped with the defence injuries. they were left too open and over ran
9.) 14 May 2014 14:16:33
Collins could be overrun by a snail he's that slow defo need some better more mobile options in defence
10.) Ì agree with what you say, Ed, however, I still maintain that collins would get overun by a toddler even if we had Viera and Keane in their heyday playing in front of him, let alone Vaughn and Henri! We do need solid back up, not collins. He is nowhere near being solid
{Ed034's Note - I disagree.
11.) Collins and Halford are far too inconsistent, we need our back up to be better as your only as strong as your weakest link, sign him up.
12.) Clearly we have too many armchair fans when they keep slaughtering our centre backs.
Any centre half looks useless when there is no cover in front of the back four. In that position you have 3 choices, either close the advancing player down, protect the route to goal or go with your striker.
The ball player has all the options so the centre half has little chance.
Collins is a quality defender and has been sound when we have a strong midfield doing their job.
13.) 14 May 2014 20:47:11
Have seen a lot of collins this season, simply not good enough, positional sense is poor, makes far too many mistakes and has no pace. Maguire would be a good squad addition.
05 May 2014 14:17:47
Chris Eagles to be one of Pearce first signings
1.) Hope so class player! Will cost nothing as well even better!
2.) Just because he has said he wants to move on 1 + 1 = 3
3.) Would be a good addition to the squad. I don't know who he could displace, but given the injuries we seem to be suffering in the squad he would probably soon get a run in the team.
4.) 05 May 2014 17:56:46
No willow because he's being released and he will add class and experience down the right
5.) Marko - he's 28 and no better than Pato or Mackie IMO. His best is over.
6.) Def got the talon to get us to prem
7.) If he really has the talon, perhaps he can help us claw our way into the Premier League.
8.) Yeh, he's good on the wing.
9.) A show pony who's already had his day not fulfilled his promise in imo
10.) Agree with Dil. If he had the potential to help a team get into the prem Bolton would have tried to keep him. If we do sign him it should be written into is contract that he is not, under any circumstances allowed to do any of his rubbish body-popping.
11.) Are bolton not broke, though? that's why they are releasing.

Hull City defender James Chester was injured against Norwich and is out for 6 weeks that's why they have recalled Hobbs
1.) Why are we trying to do things on the cheap we should have signed him perm and paid the fee instead of just doing a loan. We are pushing for promotion why would we take a risk in player that can be recalled!
2.) It is not they have just got a defender back
3.) We are having to start doing things "on the cheap" because of new FFP rules. Like people have said before Fawaz is a buisness man and it is his money at the end of the day. If it worked out, loaning Hobbs and signing him on a free would of been an amazing piece of business, but it didn't happen like that this time. From what I have read and from what Fawaz has said we were all sorted apart from Hobbs' contract. Fawaz did his part, Hobbs didn't.
4.) You can't blame Hobbs.
He is not allowed to sign a pre contract with an English club
5.) I don't know about anyone else but my first impression of Fawaz's interview last week was that he's not happy about where we are in the league and that his investment should of put us further up the league than we are.
However, I doesn't make the slightest bit of difference that he might be worth £?.?billion, I still moan at having to spend over £1 for a lettuce!
It's all realitive! In Fawaz we trust.
6.) I wasn't blaming Hobbs', but from what I have read/Fawaz has said, a deal was agreed with Hull, but Hobbs didn't/hasn't yet agreed the contract.

Heard from an owls fans who reckons he's in the know that we have put a 5 million bid in for Connor Wickham and that he won't be rejoining them on loan. Let's hope this is true and we get him because if he can score 10 goals in 8 games for them just imagine what he can do for us!
1.) 10 goals in 8 games?
2.) Can't see us paying 5 million for anybody
3.) Surely we can get him for a lot less than £5m.
{Ed034's Note - I didn't add happy new year to the bottom of your previous post. hope you have a good one
4.) Only once has he managed 10 goals in a 2 year span, much less an 8 game span.
paying anywhere near 5m for him would be a clear case of billy wasting money for no other reason than it's someone elses and will almost certainly result in failure to win promotion and probably the sack for billy as well.
5.) 31 Dec 2013 12:22:03
Indeed, he has only scored 6 in 8 games, this season, not 10.
We really don't want a player who ONLY scores. 75 of a goal per game (equal to a mere 34 goals over a 46 game season).
6.) We don't want 34 goals in 46 games. are u mad?
7.) You mate clearly don't know much then as he has extended his loan according to sheff wed website.

Marc Albrighton a possibility
1.) He's in talks with Leicester.
{Ed034's Note - ive heard Sunderland are also interested
24 Mar 2014 12:22:45
Don't know about anyone else but I would of thought we would go for malky mackay, much rather have him instead of warnock
{Ed034's Note - has mackay still got an issue with Cardiff?
1.) Does that count then ed?. I have an issue with warnock!.
{Ed034's Note - I mean in terms of money.
2.) Neil Warnock is the really smart choice for this 9 game period to the end of the season.
He has the experiences of 7 promotions, a record I think, and also the managerial nouse to clear up Billy's mess.
Dont think he is meant to be there for the long term.
3.) A good shout there mate.
