Having watched most of the new chairman's interview, a couple of things registered. It's obvious it's all about money and corporate identity. Forest are regarded as a global commodity and any redevelopment is geared toward corporate viewing and steering away from the football fan. I heard words like costs will be greater than the turnstile fan. This is where sight is being lost to the supporters. Nothing about getting standing allocation, where football is more enjoyable to watch from and creates a better atmosphere. Every away match I go to we all stand up and that really cements the camaraderie.
Where pressure is mounting on the training facilities and playing surfaces partly due to accommodating women's football I have a severe view on this. It's only MY view. What's women's football got to do with the city ground or the training facilities. The only aim of academies and reserve under 23 teams is to populate the first team, the people to represent Forest for the future. I have no issue with women playing for Forest men's if they are up to that level. But women's football should be separate to the men's club. Jumping on the name of Nottingham Forest is not right. It should be a separate entity grown from grass roots and self funding self sufficient.
Also the chairman should be in sole responsibility for the total running of the club. His choice who manages the team and recruitment agents etc. if the manager gets sacked it should be decision of the chairman not the owner. So if the owner doesn't like the manager he cannot destabilise the club on a whim. So if the owner wants a new manager then get a new chairman while you're at it. Seems at Forest the chair is just another layer of middle management/ accountant with absolutely no clout.

Absolutely Rutland, totally agree that women’s football should be completely separate to the men’s. I’ve no problem with it but don’t go round calling yourselves Nottingham Forest or Chelsea etc; You are Chelsea women, ladies, belles or any other term you want to use but you are not equal to the men’s teams because you are not as good all round, including skill wise, physicality, fan base and set up. I agree with all the other points aswell but we do stand all game in the Lower Bridgford anyway, whether there are seats there or not.

So how do you feel about the news that there are going to be two female referees in the Premier league?

I walked down the street the other day and saw a women driving a car, would you believe that!

Someone please check and remind me what year we are in ?.

I don’t care if it’s a Martian referee- as long as competency and fairness are applied.

Wow rutters you done well getting to away games, how many you been to btw mate? Hens teeth.

14 Dec 2023 23:16:11
Omg ginger ?…. I think my sides have just split I’ve just laughed so hard at that. Brilliant ??.

Can’t believe that some of you simply reply without reading the whole post, granted I do go on a trifle, but I clearly stated that I would gladly accept women playing for the club if they are allowed, but they are not and that’s not down to me. As for Bowie? That’s a strange reply particularly the hens teeth bit. Shameful low blow from a fellow trickie. For someone like me who has followed Forest for 40 odd years you can guess that I’ve been to a fair amount of away games, on my own through ice and snow Southampton to Anfield Norwich to villa and Man Utd to palace. Granted in the last 3 years I haven’t been to any Forest matches home or away, but when circumstances have allowed in the previous years blackburn, Preston, twice, leicester. Does that qualify me as a Forest fan?.

I'm a forest fan and will support forest; mens, womens and boys.

Becareful what you wish for, if you say the whole youth set up is designed to bring players through, from an "accounting" point of view is it value for money? Would it not be cheaper to bin the lot and just buy in players?

The club should be part of the community, encouraging people to play and support.

Agree with that, Perko. Rebecca Welch thinks a stamp is only worthy of a yellow card, so she can't be that good.

Cockney red, I’ll explain again. The academy is there to develop young footballers to play for the first team that’s all. Women will never play for the first team therefore should not be taking up valuable space at the-training facilities. Forest ladies started in about 1990 and I worked with the bloke who tried to get them affiliated to the club. This is not right. Start a Nottingham ladies football club but don’t hijack the Forest badge. I’m all for women being intergrated into the men’s game and representing the club, but not as a separate entity. It’s simply not Nottingham Forest.
