I'm glad it's not my decision as to what team or tactics to pick for Manchester City.
I watched City play Sheffield Utd on Sky a few weeks ago and the Blades really went at them particularly 2nd half. They were discomforted and Walker of all people slipped up and gave away their goal. Mind you they won in the end but it shows they are human and therefore fallible. But Sheffield were only a couple of smarter finishes from winning or at least nicking a draw.
But who knows how to set up against the billionaires? If you attack they'll pick you up on the counter, if you defend they'll just overrun you.
Don't be deceived by their injury problems either. Their benched players cost many times more than our full squad
If forced to make the decision I'd say go 5 3 1 1 to try and blunt them early doors then take it as deep as possible at 1 or 2 down. Nil nil after an hour would be incredible. Then bring on the "finishers" the Elangas and the CHOs.
I'd go Turner, 3 centre backs (assuming Felipe and Aurier still out) Boly, Niakhate and Worrall, Olna right, Tavares left, with Mangela, Yates and Sangere midfield then MGW just behind Taiwo.
However it's a free hit. I'm reminded of Viv Richards remark to Tony Grieg when they handed over teamsheets before a Test Match in the 1970 s and 80s.
"Look Tony, I've got Haynes, Greenidge, Marshall, Walsh, Courtney Walsh etc. I'm not really bothered what team you've picked ".

Let’s keep it simple, no trying to be clever with tactics , no fancy tricks no surprise team selection, hard work, good running and get in their faces, that will do for me.

Completely agree Carlo. Honest hard graft is what’s needed. If every man comes off the pitch having done their best then that’s all we can ask for.
