Goalkeepers Grummitt, Crossley ,Woods ,Nicholson ect. all got their chance at a young age and went on to have long careers but we hear really how good some of our youth keepers are but they never break through. If they never get a chance another young Forest keeper’s will never emerge again ,it,s a very responsible position but a position you only learn by experience.
It seems young keeers will never progress at Forest again.

When given the chance they’ve never really made the grade Carlo, a lot has been said about young players over the years but overall we’ve got a fantastic record of persevering with the good ones and letting those who won’t quite make it move on - sometimes for good money as well.

Agree carlo like you said its a very important position so for me you can't experiment in the prem with a inexperianced young keep to much at stake unless its near the end of the season when nothing at the end to play for.

I trust our management and academy set up to decide who is or isn't good enough to step up. They've done an excellent job so far for many years.

Smith was never quite good enough, certainly not for the Premier League.

Shelvey has struggled out on loan so far and Aaron Bott is still only 18 and needs to develop physically.

Adnan Kanuric is also on the books. At 22yo you'd hope he'd be ready for some first team action but certainly not at Premier League level.

I'd just go with Hennessey, can't be too many keepers out there who get regular game time and are avaliable for a few months on loan.
It's always a tough position being a keeper as you never really see goalkeepers being subbed unless injured, so all other positions get more regular minutes making it easier to be loaned out or sold.
As Cooper said next man up and that's what we brought Hennesey in for to cover in case of injury.

We had a bit of drought after the Paul Hart crop - perch and the odd other one with the sale of Bamford allegedly saving us from the abyss, it’s given us a few recently though .
