Ed, perhaps you could help me with this. My best mate has told me that Scousers are completely unable to correctly pronounce the word "chicken " as in the domestic fowl. Admittedly, he is a woolly back from Saint Helens. The word invariably comes out as something like "check in " or similar. This is through no fault of their own.
However this pales into insignificance besides the fact that whole swathes of the populations of Scotland and Wales are completely unable to articulate whole sentences such as "Congratulations to England on their magnificent victory last night and best wishes for the remainder of the tournament ".
Why is this? 🤔🤔.

{Ed001's Note - you know he is not actually a woolly back, it has got mixed up, it is the Scousers that are woolly backs from when they used to export wool from the docks and would carry bags of wool on their backs. Now it is used to suggest those from out of town are inbred with sheep, but we all know that only happens in Derby....

As for the rest, perhaps they are all Everton fans? Or, to give them their Latin name, Bitterosa Blaviusnosus (bitter bluenoses). And now I will get it in the neck on the Everton site for saying this!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Many thanks Ed, that’s a very educative insight into Scouse world. I’ll refer the Welsh / Scottish conundrum to my muttering friends from those parts of the uk 🇬🇧. Cheers mate 👍🤔.

{Ed001's Note - glad to help Stokey.}
