Not the least surprising aspect of todays game was how on earth Brentford are towards the bottom end of the division because for large parts of the match they played us off the park football wise and were unfortunate not to go in at half time witha lead.

BUT they obviously didn't take advantage of the situation and, to state the obvious, goals win games and we took our chances better than they did.

Grabban was a constant thorn in their side and really covered some distance today just playing off the last man and his tenacity paid off with his first goal probably against the run of play.

Brtentfords passing game was fast and slick and certainly in the first half pretty well had the midfield area sewn up but we battled hard , chased and harried them with great determination which at times was not pretty but effective.

Yates had an outstanding debut game and Watson has for me his best game in a while an experience from which Yates can only benefit.

The second half started better for us and wasnt quite so one sided and the award of a penalty ( a soft one at that) should have given us a bit of breathing space but they are not Grabbans forte and I assume he will not be taking many more under Mr O'neill.

To criticise any player today would in my opinion be churlish in the extreme as they appeared to put everything into it today and there were some very tired players at the end of it all.

Of course we wouldn't be Forest if we didn't concede an awful goal with 5 minutes to go but last ditch defending saw us home.

The stats will I would imagine be stacked heavily in favour of Brentford today but the result in the paper will be 2 - 1 to us and 3 points in the bag.

I will be delighted to pick up a point at The Hawthorns on Tuesday in the hope that we can begin to just put a few games together with perhaps one eye on the elusive play off places but the other perhaps more importantly on getting some consistency going which has dogged us all season really.

The ride continues on its merry way and

As always

You couldn't sum it up any better creepy, but it is a learning curve for Martin and Roy and they made some big decisions today teamwise.
Watson has to play at the moment as we have no one else fit who is captain material.
Thought today we found a future captain in Milosevic, great performance from him individually, but a solid performance from the defence and midfield all round.
Martin and Roy are taking the right route and building from the back.
THE entertainment will follow.

Although i'm a Forest Fan, in no way was it a penalty.

Although Brentfords pace and slickness of passing is much better than our previous two managers style of play, you can not get passed the fact that for all their possession and shots compared to ours they only had 1 shot more on target than us.

It is all very well having so much possession and all those shots but if you do not have the quality to do anything with it then what is the point.

Think you are right about Watson ff and as long as he continues to put a shift in he is about our only leadership candidate on the pitch.
Milosevic was pretty vocal today in setting up the defemce which is good to see

Creepy, good post but I genuinely saw a different game if you could categories shots on goals as clear cut chances we could have had 5 yesterday. Brentford put 5 past Blackburn last week . Quite frankly I’ve no interest in watching football with no end product. The years have past quickly since the forest way was consistently effective , so much so I believe we have a clouded and inaccurate view of what it was .

You are right 2star when you say we could well have scored more yeaterday and as Brentford showed posession doesn't always equate to goals .
Ive seen more than enough of that by us over the past couple of years to last a long while
