The young CB we are trying to sign is Jair Cunha. He is a 20-year-old, 6ft 6in tall CB from the same club as Igor Jesus, who we are also in for.

I say yes.

We really should have a yellow away kit not that one that looks like Argentina's home colours. Come on MArinakis.

"Regarding transfers for the three players mentioned, Globo state: ‘Negotiations were handled directly by Textor and Marinakis, without the need for intermediaries or agents with good connections at the clubs, something common in football. Given the good relationship between the two leaders, it was understood that it would be better to handle everything directly. ’

Those talks have been ongoing for two weeks, and it was Igor Jesus who was considered the most complicated deal to agree on. Nottingham Forest will pay €20m plus, as yet unknown, bonus for the forward, and he’ll arrive after the Club World Cup. "

Of the two defenders: ‘The figures on the table for Jair and Cuiabano are confidential. Botafogo paid US$14 million (US$2 million of which in bonuses) for the defender in February and R$6 million for the full-back in April last year. Internally, it is guaranteed that the amounts received will be greater than those invested. ’.

The two teams representing Britain owe there success to creative accounting, than anything else!, and rule changes to accomdate the Americans, mini transfer window, trying there best to get Ronaldo and Messi to play in it, if they had the technology they would have a hologram of Pele on the pitch!. More Premier teams now have more American owners or part owners who can vote for rule changes, be interesting to see what the future is for English football or will it be soccer then?.

I'd hope that the European competition is going to be a great way of bedding in younger players alongside a few of our experienced players and will keep squad players sharp. If we do well, all the better.

My take is that we don't just need a deeper squad, we also need to have a more flexible squad (and coaching approach? ) so we aren't as predictable as we clearly were at the end of the season.
